That was a lovely little day trip, Rick. Looks gorgeously expensive though! The prices you mentioned for single apartments are well beyond what most of us can afford. Must get down that way some time as my late stepmum's family have a guesthouse by the sea in Swanage. Gonna checknout Alex's vid later👍
Aww Rick what a fantastic video, I loved every minute and you and Alex were so happy and so funny. I did guess who the mystery companion would be so was chuffed to see Alex. I was born and raised in Southampton and Corfe Castle was alway on the school outings list so I remember it well and somehow the sun always shone. Coincidently on Monday I was also on a pier but in Penarth with my son and the sea was exactly the same of course very calm and also everything was closed ! Just like you and Alex I had to have a little memory to take home and found a tiny egg shaped perfectly smooth pebble really tiny. I didn’t bury it but put it in my pocket and when I found it again later it was lovely and warm to hold. I was no where near brave enough to paddle tho well done to you both. Gwen looked great in full use with her new set up. Lovely childhood pics of you Rick 💕 so nice to look back on. R.I.P Eric. Thx for the lovely trip Rick xxx

The Crystal shop closed a few years ago which is a shame, they had a bear skeleton in the window that i always thought looked awesome. My mums shop is ‘curiosity’ near there. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to the seaside! Swanage looks breathtaking in winter or summer. There's always something charming about an out-of-season seaside town. Certain attractions may be closed, but you get to see the sights without the crowds. Yourself and Alex make for a very entertaining double act! Perhaps you could consider a You Tube miniseries called "Rick and the Vic", where you and Alex tour seaside towns in and out of season. You enjoy the beaches, rate the fish and chips, walk the piers and perhaps bury more deceased molluscs called Eric.

Fantastic video Rick it took me down memory lane, as I too use to go down to Swan age as a young fella, everything you spoke about was exactly my thoughts too although I now live in Brisbane it is still one of my favourite places in the world..I loved how you keep the camera rolling, hopefully you do another one down on the Jurassic coast! We parked in the same car park last summer. I love Swanage - great views of the Isle of Wight. We stayed over near Bournemouth and enjoyed a great week down in Dorset.
The weather turned out great considering the miserable dull day you had just the day before when driving to Uffington. It makes that beach at Studlands look almost like its summer despite it being the end of January & has a totally different look & feel to the built up fishing harbour at Swanage. That Poole bay area near the ferry could almost be like the carribean in summer if there were Palm trees scattered around & log cabins. Busy beeches are no way near as relaxing as more secluded spots. You could bring a comfy chair sit back with a nice cold drink, some food & watch the sun set. You look very much like your dad in the end photo, he looks to be around your age now if not a bit younger (mid 40s?).
I really enjoyed this video! I went on holiday to swanage with my family back when I was little. We spent a week in a tent on a campsite a little bit inland from there. I've never been back for around 35 years or so, although it's only an hour and 20 mins travel for me! I actually own the entire box-set collection of Stargate SG1, But I don't ever recall them dialing up swanage... Maybe it leaves an opening for a new series?! It could be called "Stargate Swanage-lantis" Where Scientists descover a stargate on the south coast of England, and they have to find an ancient artifact to save earth, humanity, and to stop house prices from going up so bloody much! lol!
Great video guys. Was it last Friday that you were there? Only reason I ask is that I was there last Friday and the weather looked like it was that day! I live in Poole and often go to swanage. I parked near durleston, walked to the lighthouse and then back to Pevirell point. Studland chain ferry is away for its maintenance I think!

They say when gorse is out of bloom, kissing is out of season. It blooms here in Cornwall for a good part of the year and it looks lovely.
