Chuck. I 've reprofiled many doors on many different cars over the years . I've found the best way of gapping is to use 1/8th inch welding wire it makes a much nicer edge . As an apprentice at the local dealership we used a 2 shilling piece to check all gaps on all the marques of Jaguars .

Great video. I followed this and it works well. you get a bit of shrinkage on the rear edge which pulls the shape inwards a small amount but easily fixed with lead loading to get perfect. Chucks comment on the front edge of the door is gold dust. I thought I had ample room here when the doors were unpainter and it all opened with no problems. I have just refitted the doors after painting and they only just clear on the front edge. I am so pleased I followed Chucks advice here and I am not repainting the car for getting too greedy with the gaps at the front edge.
