    Wow, most excellent video, took me back to my childhood, all is missing is the exhaust note that i remember so well, with the different machines.

    Those are the easy scrapers. I used to run the CAT 463 cable operated scrapers pulled by a Cat D8H. A few times I did it with the old CAT stick shift D8's with the pony motor.,

      I ran the cat DW21 with the cable scraper and a 5 speed unsynchronized manual transmission. I didn't think they were so much worse, just different.

    What a fabulous sight! I've seen them at Northampton where they are currently. They must be loving the exceptionally dry weather
    since they arrived.

    Love bully and scrapers, gud in soft ground conditions. Unfortunately I'm in New Zealand, most contractors hate them over here. I run a soil tip site in the Waikato region, every earthmoving season I run my small bulldozer and scoop and my mates Cat 613B elevator scraper, we move about 900m3 a day between us on gud day. Got a 29 ton bulldozer to push assist if needed, gud fun

    If I may. Does anyone out there. Tell me why they REMOVE front blade on a Dozer Scraper. Just asking all you experts. Thank you.

    • @haybine
      @haybine 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blades have been removed as they are extra added weight and they are not being used with the scraper being attached. Also transport to the worksite makes it more difficult as the blade will be wider than the dozer and more problematic to move safely.

      Thank you so much. I was thinking Wht. As it would free up Horse Power. Did Not know the other stuff. Have you run something close to that beast.
      Thanks so much.

      @@rp1645 a long time ago I ran some Cat 637G scrapers, great machines! If you want to see some older machines look up Catskinner Keen on TH-cam for some Canadian history of construction back in the early 70’s, great footage and a good story.
