Hello friends. I want to clarify the "Horses and tribals" After this video was created i had the chance to speak with Dondi about them. Given so many of you
had been asking about them ever since they were seen in a previous video i finally have answers. It turns out the tribal we saw today was left over from
a previous developer and they are not assets they plan to use for the tribals. Along side that, the horse falls into the same mix. Though it's strange
to me that up to now we've NEVER seen the horse model or how it looked and today in this video we actually had the chance to see it. From what i know he's
going to be removing them from the Recode dev kit next weekend.

Imagine if horses were players that could rely on human players to protect them. Horseback riding would be such a hilarious mess.
It would be super cool if horses could understand humans, but humans couldn't understand horses. Your rider is like "c'mon, we gotta go into those woods for these items!" but you smelled a dino in there and That's A Big No From Me, Chief would only be communicable through spastic jumping or acting like a literal mule

An Organ system would actually be pretty important for when they want to add humans, it may be one of the ways for humans to fight dinosaurs, shoot them were they are weak, like bullet to the heart or lung or something

Anth, have you ever played Big Game Hunter? The organs are probably hitboxes for locational bullet damage. From what I saw, there were the lungs, heart and liver, which are important targets for hunting. The heart is the most desirable as it results in near instant death, while hitting the lungs can cause suffocation and hitting the liver can make an animal bleed out internally
He was using the rex to see how it’d fit under the rocks, so size comparison
I've never done isle art, I'm more dragon based. But they're pretty similair so maybe i could pull of a nycta!! This is going to be exciting!!!

I figured the horse was a store bought asset and the dev team was borrowing it's animations for their 4 legged critters and then modifying it to make sense for a heavier critter. The hoppity turn that the trike has is most definitely taken from horses. Any horse rider will tell you that.

I think it would be cool to have a "drag" on enemies. Basically you can drag people who held bite on you. Let's say a utah was dumb enough to hold left mouse on you, they would hold a bite and you could walk with them bite-clung to you. As for enemies you could drag them into trees to "dislocate" them: AKA scrape them off with a tree.
Organs could be helpful. EX: Trike stabs leg other than stomach: Crippled walk, but no death if survived.
Another EX: eating a poisonous dino does damage to stomach but not legs. You can walk normally, but if bad enough damage takes with eating.
Last EX: You get stabbied in the estomigos. Acid spills to other organs resulting in effected damage from your own stomach acid.
Good reason for having organs: VITAL regions. A heart pierced dino is more dead to a leg stabbed dino. Sure walking is hard, but a hole in the heart is a definite death sentence.
ALSO T-rex was the deadliest dino due to bite, but soley because of. They layed limited eggs, but they were designed to take care of their young and rather a simple bite from one would kill due to bacteria. So give a rex an "infectious" bite which damages over time like a venom mechanic but slowly graduates. More infection leads to quicker death. A player can still die after a bite of a rex several fights later. Venom being healed by drinking water till you flood it out depending on bite location and venomous species. Rex has a powerful bite, but huge risk to fighting only trikes. A rex would be smarter to just bite and stalk EVEN WITH the greater bite force.
THESE are HARD code mechanics and probably easier said than done.
A good mechanic would be to make 1v1 more drawn out. A heated battle? No, that didn't happen in battle unless things were desperate. Make it so SURVIVAL is important. You shouldn't be able to take 7 hits from a trike and survive. Horns are mui mal. You need to stalk your prey. Paras were designed to call each other to combine safety in numbers. Give the rex good movement detection, but Paras better sound detection. This might already be modified. Just a suggestion.
BUT Trikes would have actively attacked Rex nest so adult rexes weren't a horror in the future.
We need a mosa or a giant squid for water danger. It's kinda weird not having danger in the water.
A deinosuchus rival would be cool.

The rex was under the rocks to make sure it could get through the opening. The clouds coming from the trees were also dev stuff. It was Dondi just making sure the sound was working g the way it should have been.
I think it would be really cool to have a variable jump height. A raptor doesn't need to jump too high for a log so it would be really cute to have just little jumps
Compy is suspected to be the fastes dino to have lived so would make sense if it out ran everything
Seeing as how the organs go outside the body, I think by "organs" he meant organ hitboxes. So if, say, you get gored by a trike, the game will be able to tell whether your internals were damaged and what the effect should be.
The particle effect on the trees tells where the birds are. I don't think it will be in the game but for dev use :]
The rex was also used to judge the height of the rocks and width of the ravine (I think that's what they are planning to make it into. I've been watching Ravenous too for updates and discord chats)

When one punches but gets hurt they often recoil back and stop but also at the same time go back to attack soon after
Organs are important to gun play. So when the mercs or tribals attack, the dinos aren't just bullet sponges. If you hit an organ you can do extra damage or possibly cripple them.
Really like the idea of knowing when you've been hit or some visual queue, would make fights more tactical in a way.
A long time ago, Sledge wanted horses for Mercs, since the Tribals/Cannibals get to ride dinosaurs. The Tribals are 9 feet tall, Mercs are around 6-ish.
If they add firearms and bows the organs could be there to simulate certain effects. Brain or heartshot is a instant kill or a shot the guts could deal more bleed damage.
In my opinion i think that how it might be set up for the tribals is that first you have to know how to tame and ride horse (or just forget the taming or riding part becasue i am not a dev and i have no idea what they have planned for the tribals) and then you can go out and try to tame dinosaurs and ride them. which to be honest that reminds me of an old animated movie that somehow had native americans and dinosaurs in the same place.

it would be cool if when an apex enters an area, ambience quiets down. like if ur a maia browsing in the forest and then the ambience goes quiet and you know to be alert.

(Just an idea of mine)If they do add horses, they could make them completely player controlled while riding them, but when a player gets off, they have the option to command the horse to stay in that spot, or allow it to wander and graze within a certain area until the player gets back on. If (let’s use Utah as an example) a Utah decided to attack it, the horse would run if the rider player is unable to save it (dead, too far away, etc..) and if the Utah is able to corner or drain the horses stamina, the horse will have a kick attack to defend itself)
Now this kick attack would be more dangerous to predators smaller than the horse, but the horse is less likely to use it the bigger the predators is

They were the biggest raptors of its kind one they found was half the size of a Rex and estimated to weigh 1 ton not as fast a velociraptor because they were the size of a chicken but my god imagine a utahraptor running after you
The organs looked to me like hit boxes for lungs, heart and then something in the back of the lungs, stomach perhaps? Which would be relevant as "weak spots" if you have something to shoot with. I may be wrong though regarding the intent of having them.

Theory: The "organs" look like they could be lungs or ribs. Like how the trike can impail raptors, I can see the organs being target zones where if you get a lucky strike in that area you can cause an creature to be instantly killed or mortally wounded and eventually, without human intervention, perish.
Also, you have never heard a angry bird? Parrots especially can hiss like this.

As for hit reactions, most creatures will yelp when hurt, if it has a broken leg it can wimper ocationally, and excessive panting while bleeding and a slight drunken sway may help indicate lack of O2 in the brain. Starving animals should have their eyes sunken in, and dehydrated ones could be slightly slouched. There is a lot you can animate to show reactions to certain situations so I understand why they'd put things like this off while recoding. Though, should they attempt to in the near future, there are a ton of reference material they can find on youtube for hurt, sick, or unhealthy animal behavior.

So for the "bite/reaction" deal. I feel like it'd be more difficult to create an animation (or several ) that would realistically appear as if you'd be pain. BUT. Instead of an animation, why not use an audio que? Example, in red dead redemption, arthur/John and others react sometimes by yelling out, cursing and or groaning painfully when shot, punched or hit. Plus it'd be less time consuming then creating a realistically pain animation for each species.
Do you think the devs would add a plague event? Or have disease as another factor to look out for in survival mode so when carnivores find prey they have to consider if they really want to take the chance of eating the meat? That would be cool as an event in my opinion
My guess for organs is maybe when they eventually add humans, they will get bonus damage with weapons for hitting vitals?

I also love the new isle sounds for the environment, I hope that it changes when you’re in different environments. I really hope you can hear the wind and sea when you’re on the coastal areas
False one is the attack, the second is eating animation
MrBlackovery ??? On the preview it shows two animations under the heading attack. It attacks four times. The first two have the head sideways when it bites and the second shows the head in a standard upright position.

The utahs hands are not right when it sits the claws are facing forward not to the side, it can only push up with the back of there hands maybe but thats it. Its claws cant face flat on the ground without breaking its wrist
I think hit reactions would be nice. Like for instance a Rex swats a small dinosaur like Utah or Galli with its head to knock it to the ground. Or a Spino grabbing a dibble and using its body weight to drag/tip it over onto its side. I watched Jurassic World too many times I think, the Indominus Rex did all the and I wanted to do it in-game. 😁😁😁

Is it possible that Elders, are hypos? Dondi said that you are going to go through a big power boost, plus he used the term, "Beast". He also slipped up in a stream of his and said that you had to *grow* into the hypo version of a dinosaur. So, this is something that i want you to ask Dondi, Anth, if you see this of course. If he says yes then put it into your next video.
The "organs" may just be meshes he needs to indicate locations dinos can pounce/grapple.
Organs might be for human and the damage they do with guns.
Heart/Lung shots being a higher dmg attack than a flesh shot.
As far as the internal organs Anth you need to think about Big Game Hunter and those kind of hunting games. We will have humans with weapons and I'm sure there will be critical areas to "kill shots and wounds" during hunting and killing. Just my thoughts anyways :)
