Couple lovely wee trout lad. I’ve been having the same thoughts on the river lately mate seems there’s very little rising fish 95% of my catching is on the nymphs at the moment. Going to head up the river today here’s hoping the rain hasn’t washed it up too much
Thanks very much for watching pal. Yeah been hearing similar stories all over. Maybe I should have waited for a bit right towards dusk hopefully I can get another shot soon with the lighter nights in full swing now. How did you get on at the river?
@@robertdoesfishing actually very good day mate got a couple to come up & take the dry but only got one to the net & landed a good 7 or so with the nymphing rod none a decent size right enough but loved it. First time using a semi auto fly reel it was bliss 😂
Where on the river are you Robert I fished the Irvine from Crookedholm past Cappie in the late 40s when I was 9 tae the late 60s When I moved away from killie tae Argyll. but mainly round about The Struthers down by the Scott Ellis. It was a wonderful river back then. Love yer vid.
Thanks very much for watching James glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it brought back some nice memories. The 2 main bits I was fishing here was down at Gatehead and a wee bit further upstream towards Caprington bridge. 😊
Great video again lad....why did ye think that fish was a stockie? Where are they escaping from? I know ive said this before but we need to get a day on the water definitely this season. Keep them coming lad👏👏👏
Thanks for watching mate. I think one of the adjoining beats puts fish in and I occasionally come across the odd stockie there. Just had a feeling about that one, it might not have been right enough. Absolutely up for that. I’m zoned in on trying to get my first salmon of the season. Frustrating stuff 😂
Well done mate, nice looking river 👍
