  • In this reading, Tan Pesalo reads from the profound "Khandhavimutti", composed by Ajahn Mun, as translated and introduced by Ajahn Pannavaddho:
"While Ven. Ãcariya Mun was staying in Wat Sapatumwan in
Bangkok in the year 1930 approximately, he composed the booklet
'Khandavimutti and Samangidhamma.' This booklet is written in
Thai in a semi-poetical form and it displays the teaching of the
Buddha in an unusual but refreshing way"
"Khandhavimutti" translates to "Liberation of the Aggregates", and "Samaṅgīdhamma" translates to "Endowed with Dhamma". The reading touches on themes of seeking liberation and finding it in the practice of mindfulness and understanding, and is set within an interaction between two such seekers who discuss their experiences of the dhamma.
Following this reading, members of the Sangha ask questions and offer their perspectives on the reading, its contents, its implications for practice, and its historical significance and context in Thai culture.
