Reasonable conservatives should get t-shirts that say “abortion is not my choice, but it should be yours”.
It is more complex than that. The fetus and mother’s rights are in contradiction, the state has to pick some compromise. The pro-choice position favours the mother the pro-life favours the fetus.
It’s crazy that I thought I’d never see the day where we would return to a pre- Roe v Wade world…it’s so bizarre to me. How many women who actually have rights need to be denied care, suffer pain and die before the madness ends. 😢

I don’t think people are aware of the fact that the majority of men, especially, think that the only kind of “abortion” is to “get rid of” a healthy pregnancy. The idea that women’s lives are in danger due to sepsis, bleeding, etc is not on their radar unfortunately. Such ignorance is so sad!
To say that this is about abortion is misleading. The issue is that women should have the right to make important decision by themselves not some government or someone's religious understanding. keep in mind these are the people who push for cutting healthcare, social programs and call poor people moochers.

And here's the truth, an overwhelming majority of women when made aware they are pregnant choose to and make every effort to carry to term. Here's the great irony, despite these intentions, between 70% and 75% of human embryos conceived are lost during pregnancy. Between 30% and 50% of fertilized eggs fail to implant in the uterine lining. This is often due to early pregnancy loss, which can occur before a woman realizes she is pregnant. About half of fertilized eggs that begin to implant in the uterine lining do not implant successfully. And NONE of this occurs by virtue of any action by the woman.
What's worse is that a ton of GoP voters are those moochers who benefit from social programs and healthcare, but because someone with a non-white skin colour might also benefit from it, they don't mind gutting it all.
Always confront someone who calls themselves pro-life. They are only pro-birth. Pro-life means you make sure people are sheltered and that they have food and clean water.
Using language to trick your constituents is annoyingly prevalent in our nation. Here’s another example: calling anti-union laws “right to work” laws in certain states. Sounds promising, doesn’t it. Labor is a right, no? But the part they try to leave out is “You don’t want those pesky unions involved, do you? Always fighting for your rights, better working conditions, better pay, protection from harm, all that stuff, right? RIGHT?”

I disagree that pro-life voters can't be swayed on this. We need to point out how many pregnant women struggle to get OBGYN care in red states now. This is because so many doctors have left this practice for fear of being prosecuted if they help a woman with a problem pregnancy.

I imagine having this conversation with my own mother, who is adamantly anti-abortion but certainly believes in the typical exceptions (we can get into how those exceptions lead finally to this being a doctor-patient decision full stop, but regardless). TBH, I don't think she believes that these monsters would let women die, or that they'd force assaulted children to keep a pregnancy - but women have already died, and many are suffering. The Kool-Aid is so strong, I don't think she'd believe it until we went full Gilead, and by then there'd be another excuse.

I’m glad that Jessica was on the show, but I think she missed an opportunity to explain to the majority of people who think that the only kind of “abortion” is the removal of a healthy fetus or embryo because a woman just doesn’t want it. In reality, that isn’t common. 20% of pregnancies end in a miscarriage or the fetus dies. Women are dying, or coming close, because they are being denied the procedures to remove dead tissue. This medical term is correctly defined as “fetal death management”, not abortion.

It takes two to start a pregnancy, and there must be some accountability for the men here. The beginning and the end of the discussion is until that which may be growing inside of a woman can safely exist, develop, over time mature to true sentience outside of the woman's body, the woman in consultation with her medical provider, should have the absolute say of what happens or doesn't happen to her body. To have any other standard, would negate the personal autonomy of a woman who is an actual sentient human being capable of expressing personal volition.

Abortion is a human rights choice. This is a feminist issue and men must be feminists also. But this requires us to be truthful. If we believe in free market capitalism we must have globalised markets. NATO interferes with EU and free markets when it prevents Russia from selling direct to a global market without EU deciding price, currency but most importantly free and truthful information including Net Zero targets. Abortion is a choice when we hold the household primacy in economic context and we have division of labour where childbirth and primary income remains in traditional gender models. I've always been pro choice but the way women get to dictate adoption or custody and child support after birth should be the very next thing considered once abortion rights get restored. Your body, your choice, but once the baby is born, there is no argument to be made, that is a person and it should be raised by both parents. Period.
In case anyone decides to respond, you should know that there are a comparable number of deadbeat moms, who also still have the kid. Who's more dangerous? Most 'deadbeat dads' are pushed out by mom and refuse to care for a child they never get to see. Who could blame them but the most hypocritical of us?
