Sorrowful and stunning. This is top notch songwriting and a sublime performance. It reminds me of a Simon & Garfunkel song in the best, best way. I'm absolutely thrilled to hear this type of performance from The Avetts again.
Love the harmony. Beautiful song. Here's hoping this and "I Wish I Was" will quiet those complaining about the new album being over-produced. If you have that concern, I think it will go away once you hear the songs "Ain't No Man" "Divorce Separation Blues" etc. live. These guys deserve all the good things coming to them. They get better every year and can put on a live show like nobody else.
I don't believe anyone has qualms with their live performances. It's hearing a beautiful, simplistic, and heartfelt song being overrun by studio production. So much so that the essence of the song gets lost...
Please go away jabob, I'm sick of the crying. I've loved everything I've heard from the album so far. Satan pulls the strings is my favorite for now, the emotion Seth puts in his verse is awesome.

I didnt particularly like this album when I first got it, which is normal but I thought the whole album would sound like what they did with Satan Pulls The Strings and it kind of soiled it for me, but now all of the songs, except for two, are like my favorite Avett Brothers songs

+Darrell Brock the studio version is horrendous. Seth has an incredible voice and what they did with his verse is tragic.
