You inspired me to get a Prius. I saw the life style that you enjoyed and decided to try it myself. I am 76 years old and just finished a 50 day adventure to Las Vegas and back putting 6000 miles on the Prius. I use to have a 38 ft motor coach that I enjoyed but now enjoy the Prius better. I do use campgrounds but am leaning more to primitive camping. Thank you for all your help and guidance.

I call you a genius. You are not homeless. Your car is your home. People complain and most are in debt from paying either high rent or mortgage. They would love to travel but have no money to because they are living the "so called American dream" We don't need much but place to sleep, eat, and bathroom/shower. Many ways to get that done without a 2000 plus square foot house. Plus they are working 40+ hours a week to pay for it. Then their spare time left if they have any is taking care of the place, cleaning, mopping, dusting, fixing things that go wrong, mowing the lawn etc, etc. You have all your needs met, don't have to work long hours to live good and abundance of freedom and travel. Keep doing what you are doing and living a life well lived. These people will look at their life near the end and say I wished I had done the same.

I just took a 2 week trip and used my Prius to sleep in using many of your ideas for blocking out the windows. I didn't go to the extent of making taking out the back seats and converting it completely but it worked great to sleep in for the two weeks while I was on the road. my stealth mode worked quite well, didn't tint the windows but they were blocked pretty well and unless you went up right to the car you couldn't tell I was in there.
I love that you are taking advantage of your youth and adventurous spirit to explore all your options before settling down as you travel and enjoy the great USA! Recently discovered you channel and I think it's awesome, really enjoying your content. The video where you slept in new york was insane. I hope your channel keeps growing quickly so you can fully fund yourself with youtube. I am 23 and you've definitely inspired me to take some extended trips in my car, not quite living in it but using it to sleep for awhile instead of a hotel or having to find and set up a campsite. Keep up the sick videos!!
The only thing I can think of I'm thinking of a minivan because of the fact that as a lady & 65young You gotta go tinkle in the middle of the night ! Can't do it in there a man can , But absolutely love the gas mileage
One thing about the hybrid cars that many people might not know (I have a Ford) is highway miles are better for it. Plus you get BETTER gas mileage because you are charging up the battery. I bought my car new. I was screaming at the poor gas mileage. About 30. Then I had to travel 800 miles. After that my car got better mileage. (40-50) The stickers say you might get 2 miles more on highway. But 8-10 is more like it. I know the Prius is way better. But my car is bigger.
I use a Kamp Rite cot out of my Prius instead of trying to sleep in the car. Actually can set up as fast or faster than fiddling with black out shades and bug screens. Also you get better air ventilation with no mosquitoes, ability to quickly position and level the cot, easier to get in and out of, and l find more comfortable. Not perfect or for everyone, but works for me.
@@MountainSpringsAdventures About the engine and transmission. You will not have any issues with them. Prius is a tank. Just service and you will be fine. I never had any problems with mine Prius. I drove 300 000 miles before I sold It.
Hurrah for the high mpg of the Prius. I get ~55mpg in my 2015 plug-in prius (often a lot higher off battery-only EV mode on short trips). The fuel efficiency is absolutely amazing. I go on trips, and then _come_home_ before I need to refill the tank! :-)
A good way to #2is a milk crate a small garbage can cut bottom to fit below rim of milk crate and go to dollar store for $1 26ct 3-4 gallon liners. Use a hair , head band for the bag holder. #2 only #1 in a bottle.

The Prius might not be fully perfect.. but it's indeed a nice car for everyone to own. I've heard stories of people in Florida who owned them.. when there were hurricanes and the lights went out... they used their Prius as their power stations and to get some AC to cool themselves from the Florida heat which is nice. And plus the MPG that it saves you! It's nice. Toyota did good on this one.. great investment/idea. #ToyotaPrius
I think youre a great communicator. Could you more videos on what you like to eat cook? And on how long you stay at places? And the people you meet? And how you changed as a person?
I spent my first night in my Prius at a Walmart last night! I slept great, but woke up with a dead battery. Thank God I had a battery jumper under my front seat since the hatch locks up with a dead battery. QUESTION? I decided to turn the car off since the weather was nice, and not use climate control. I noticed that the red battery picture was flashing on my dash board. Did my battery die because I’m inside with the car keys? I would like the option to sleep with the car off. Thank you!!!

You could look for some sort of traveling work or WFH/WFA/telework internet based employment, or a traveling job/contracting that enables you to still travel but have semi permanent locations and get paid for it. Idk if your previous business could/would be helpful to connect in, but basically like a traveling nurse, but I dont really know what jobs utilize that. I know there are other employers that need temporary workers in many locations, but theres low supply because most people arent wanting to move and live all over the place.

Suggestion: if you want to continue the Uber Eats, et al. During your shift for them take your doggo to a doggie day care. He'll have fun while you rake it in. I'm pretty sure that you'll more than offset the cost of the daycare - you're very personable - I'll bet you have no trouble making good tips 😊 Great vid!

Go to green tech auto when your battery takes a shit. They're able to send a tech to you and change you out. Their first battery lasted 7years would have Lasted longer but I let the car sit.
I have two questions, what year is your Prius and how do you get things on Amazon when you're traveling. I have a third question, when you do Uber Eats and doordash isn't that just borrowing against the value of your car because according to my math u make like $2 an hour when you deduct the cost of your car. And of course you have to pay taxes on that too. Actually I have a fourth question isn't it most important for a security to buy a weapon or any kind, when I look at your dispersed campgrounds it totally freaks me out, I mean the safety issue of it. Would you mind commenting on that?

You have made me appreciate my Prius more! My Prius has a name, her name is Lil Blu. She is my best friend. Thank you for your videos! You are giving me the love of travel again. Big Thanks from Central Minnesota. You should come this way. Around the Lake Mille Lacs area and Mississippi Headwaters. Drive the North Shore of Lake Superior, it is gorgeous! Happy travels my fellow Prius driver.
That's awesome! Cool name for a Prius. I would love to go to Minnesota at some point, I might go out west in the near future
I have a prius that is a 2010 and it's the best purchase I ever made. I really enjoy your videos. Safe travels
I love your setup. It is great you have made the best of your down time and not only survived but thrived. Traveling and exploring at any age, really exposes you to different ways of living and I feel makes people happier. It is great to see younger people out exploring. I have really enjoyed your videos. If you make it out to eastern Kansas or western (Kansas City)Missouri, I hope we can meet you and show you around. Safe travels.
Glad you enjoy the vids. Yes traveling can be a great thing
I am so glad you Uploaded a video I was worried about you brother. Your channel is awesome man!
I appreciate that! Yea I took a little break and was gone for a bit
Clean shaving was such a pain you know where, so I bought a $20 trimmer in Walmart and never looked back.
I actually just got an electric razor also (for my face) and yes it works great, $50 Braun from walmart
I just started living in my 2013 Toyota Prius… for about 3 weeks now. It’s very cheap to live and travel in this awesome car! 🚗 😊 👍 I will have to check out the video how you have all that power to cook. 👨🍳 thanks for sharing!
Right on!
Awesome, thank you! Glad its been helpful for you. Yes, I really hope to be fully funded from youtube, its not quite cutting it right now. Take care
@@MountainSpringsAdventures I bet you'll hit 50k+ in no time!
Congrats on the 10k, happy to be in the first 10k group, & I’m sure this will keep growing for you. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Im hoping so
The only thing I can think of I'm thinking of a minivan because of the fact that as a lady & 65young You gotta go tinkle in the middle of the night !
Oh yea I love those camping cots, they are very comfortable, I used to have one.
Oi! do not forget to clean and swipe air wents to the hybridbattery. Then the battery last longer and are balanced good.
Thanks yes i do clean the hybrid battery fan semi-regularly.
@@MountainSpringsAdventures Excellent, that will save you alot of money in the long run.
Oh yea i bet the plug-in Prius is even better for camping because you can run the AC off battery-only for a while. Cant go wrong at 55 mpg
A good way to #2is a milk crate a small garbage can cut bottom to fit below rim of milk crate and go to dollar store for $1 26ct 3-4 gallon liners. Use a hair , head band for the bag holder. #2 only #1 in a bottle.
Yea i did something similiar for a time. But i got tired of having a bag of poop to throw away lol
@@MountainSpringsAdventures Well I don't care to have a bag of 💩 to toss but 50+yo folks can't wait to dig it up !!! My bag is ready as I type this. Yes I'm at a so called stix and brix but I'm too busy drinking to build a privy at the moment. The only reason I got a stix and brix is I paid $12k for my slum and I don't give a rat's ars . Think about it I've lived here 41 months. /12 = 292.68 not too shabby for washing machine and dryer fullsize stove freezer etc. ~$100 a month utilities and I might burn a tank a month
Thanx dude, the best living in a prius vid by far.
Glad you liked it!
Also from Atlanta Georgia going to be doing this soon in my rav4
Just keep livin. Breathing. Your doing good. 👍🏼 🌎 🐶 🚙
I know you’re having a wonderful life car camping. What an adventure! Please be careful because I was just reading about bears attacking folks in national forests. Just want to see you be safe!😊
Thank you very much, yes I have been hearing about bear attacks recently also, its a bit strange
The drone shots look legit
Thanks, I've been practicing 😋
Wow 10K that's amazing, you have some really great content, I always enjoy your simply solutions to everyday happenings.
Thank you so much 😀
Mr? Have a advise for you from Scandinavia. Switch to a 2018 Prius. Then you get up to 80 MPG for real. Love your channel and respect you. Good man!
Thanks for the support from Scandinavia, glad you like the channel!
He'd get better milage but never recoup the$17- 20K he'd have to pay to buy a 18 prius.
@@MountainSpringsAdventures You are a hero in my book. Thank you for answer Sir. I have also lived in two cars in my life. I loved It and I miss It. Will do It soon again. Wish you all the best and have a good day. Live free or die! That is my motto.
@@markbajek2541 Acually, when I saw the hole video. I understand the situation. So you are aps right. Have a good day Sir!
I totally appreciate your honesty and thoroughly enjoy all your videos. Enjoy your journey!
Thank you so much! Glad your enjoying
That little shovel is similar to the E Tools We had in the Army!
You are correct you are getting by the way you must for the current situation . You are making the best of it considering.
Yes, thank you
The Prius might not be fully perfect.. but it's indeed a nice car for everyone to own.
In California we have a lot of those. 😂❤ I like seeing them around.
Yes they are great to use as a generator in emergencies like that. Check out my video on how to turn a Prius into a generator,
I think youre a great communicator. Could you more videos on what you like to eat cook? And on how long you stay at places? And the people you meet? And how you changed as a person?
Thank you, yes I will try to make some more cooking videos in the future and keep the other stuff in mind too
Congrats on 10k. Absolutely love your channel!!! You are such a good person. I wish you the best on your adventures. 😊
Thank you so much!! That means a lot. Glad enjoy the channels
@@MountainSpringsAdventures what year is your prius and did you buy it from a dealer?
I spent my first night in my Prius at a Walmart last night! I slept great, but woke up with a dead battery. Thank God I had a battery jumper under my front seat since the hatch locks up with a dead battery.
QUESTION? I decided to turn the car off since the weather was nice, and not use climate control. I noticed that the red battery picture was flashing on my dash board.
Did my battery die because I’m inside with the car keys? I would like the option to sleep with the car off. Thank you!!!
rents are so high it seems very understanding why many people are doing this even my self included 2013 prius v home.
Always make sure you have a jump pack I have mistakenly drained auxillary battery keep it in the glove box so you can get to it.
Yes i actually have 2 jump packs in my car now lol
@@MountainSpringsAdventures Excellent you are a realist 2 is one and one is none.
.....there are parks in key west, check those out. Also, alot of parks along the Columbia river in oregon. Plenty places to stealth.
Yea the Keys are one of the places I want to go, and the west coast
@@MountainSpringsAdventures .....looks like a good way to get away from the rat race. Theres another channel where the guy does seasonal work at resorts when he wants to. He has a prius too. Several good channels. Even seen one prius w a little tub for bathing under floor, and a toilet, pretty amazing what the prius can turn into. I like the minimalist aspects and climate control feature, plus coast.to coast for like $250 in fuel is sic
Love the open scenery. Very interesting explanatory video of some your life previously. Congratulations on 10K subscribers. You deserve it as you keep your videos real. Thank you for the video. Blessings and safe travels.
Thank you very much! Same to you.
Bob Wells friend, Sue Ann, lived in a Prius for 10 years. She upgraded to a van recently.
Thats cool. 10 years is a long time to live in a Prius!
I'm having difficulty living here in my home but I know that the heat don't last long.
Yea those are great ideas, tjanks for the tips
Locally in Louisiana just saw a great 09 prius up for sale.
So Glad to see your back doing these videos. I hope your pup is doing better. I really appreciatte your honesty about being on the road living in your prius.
Whatever you decide wether to go 9 to 5 or to travel/ live in pruis part time your gonna have some amazing memories. Not to mention how many people your encouraging to get put and live life. Btw i purchased the rechargable spikot for 5 gal jug you recomended. Im waiting on the crock pot set up till im 100% sold on car camping/extended traveling in it. Which should be by next spring. Ive bought items to start camping traveling in sept. Ince im sold on this i will be lloking seriously at prius because of there reliabilty and electrical set up. Already done research in which models are best etc etc. Just wanted you yo know your honesty ascwell as your experiances and recommendations is what i enjoy the most. I only watch you and one other you tube about car csmping/ camping subscription wise. Fyi the other is called pieces of sticks on youtube. Anyway enjoying the grrat videos👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Oops the other subscription i think you may enjoy too is actually called playing with sticks. They go over ALOT of differebt ways to csmp with a car from teardrops to scamps to tent trailers.plus lots of good udeas and reviews. Let me know ehat you think if you dont mind
Hey man thank you for supporting the channel. Thats great that I am one of the only camping channels you watch. I try to keep things honest and show whats best for people in their current situaion,
U can also put mobile toilet&shower in it...
Never seen a Prius like this ! Very cool 😎
Glad you liked it
You answered pretty much all the questions i had from previous videos. I feel like I would need to use the restroom at much more inopportune than you 😀. You didnt really answer what your business was, but you can make some guesses based on what you said.
Good settup with Your car! Good thing the way Rent is so high in a lot of places now.
Talking about your money situation is really interesting!
Glad its interesting for you
for delivering put up a partition to where people cant see your dog.
Thanks for the tip
Live like a boss mode 💥
I subscribed because I love what you do! Safe travels
Cool, glad you like it, same to you
Suggestion: if you want to continue the Uber Eats, et al. During your shift for them take your doggo to a doggie day care. He'll have fun while you rake it in. I'm pretty sure that you'll more than offset the cost of the daycare - you're very personable - I'll bet you have no trouble making good tips 😊
Great vid!
yea i might try that. those places are pretty expensive last time i checked though. Thanks.
Not a bad idea to start a patreon for the channel, could keep your exploring! You're still yet to see all of amazing Canada or even Mexico is easy for you to access!
Thanks, yes I want to go into canada, I might start my patreon back up
You're so brave with little money $2000, you have ventured so many states. Maybe you love nature and want exploration different regions in the US; but I think with $2,000, it isn't enough in case of an emergency. You will have my "like" on every videos I watch.
Yea I agree, its best to have more thank 2k, glad you like the vids
Cool man. I have been watching your channel for awhile now. I always wanted to know why you decided to do it or the motivation behind it. So thanks for this video! In the future a video that breaks now your monthly expenses might be interesting too. Keep living life like you want to and seeing wonderful country.
Thanks for watching, yea I might do a video explaining finances a bit more, take care
@@MountainSpringsAdventures No problem! All the best and safe travels.
I have just recently found your channel and have been enjoying your videos. I would like to buy a Prius and set it up also mainly because of the climate control feature. I'd like to know more about the climate control of the Prius. Thanks
Right on! check out my video about climate control
Come to California maybe Santa Barbara or Ventura it's beautiful
yes i plan on going to california at some point
Once it gets under the sink - you'll make your own food outside!!
Great topic. Thanks for the backstory of your channel and travelling. How do you plan where to go next....how has your car been doing with running all night?
Glad you enjoyed it. My car is running great still, no issues except it wobbles a bit a high speeds so something in the suspension area is a bit out of line. I dont plan where to go usually
Awesome advice. Very intuitive.
Glad you think so!
I guess I need to offer house swaps for when I want to travel for a while with my Prius? Just another Prius in the the driveway.
Not sure what you mean
Dude, I'm curious when you'll talk more about doing the lift kit. Toyota dealer quoted me $1200 but it doesn't look too bad if you got some jackstands.
1200 is WAY too much. i instaalled mine myself for free, lol.
WHAT YEAR IS YOUR PRIUS IN THIS VIDEO. I WANT TO MAKE SURE SINCE I PLAN ON BUYING ONE THIS WEEK AND AM JUST AT OR UNDER 6 FEET TALL AND WANT TO MAKE SURE I FIT. LOVE THE DOWN TO EARTH VIDEOS. I GUESS YEAR AND ANY SE LE OR WHATEVER MODEL/S. THANKS.
You are a major inspiration
Thank you :)
I call you Legend 🙏
nice setup! Do you belong to any Prius camping clubs? What do you do to prepare for emergency on road breakdowns? Do you have Roadside Assistance Insurance or carry any additional road repair items? Have you encountered any major breakdown problems? Great Luck to you in the future ! Have fun...
Great intro. Very professional.
Thank you 🤗
Go to green tech auto when your battery takes a shit. They're able to send a tech to you and change you out. Their first battery lasted 7years would have Lasted longer but I let the car sit.
I plan on replacing the individual cells that go bad if that happens, its much cheaper
@@MountainSpringsAdventures I just got new cells and knew it was gold for 7 years.
Mad respect.
thank you
Enjoyed from Texas!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m working on doing this and it’s so cool
Congrats on 10k!
Thank you so much 😀
