Anyone on medications should think about rotating thru their kits medications they take daily. If a trip has an unexpected delay you’ll be glad you have no worries.
1. Yes, as the channel grows it will be impossible to reply to everyone...so don't feel bad, that's just the reality, I believe all your followers understand. 2. Yes, you are really Alone in Remote Alaska, and it is both breathtakingly beautiful, but you are equipped and perfectly designed in personality and temperament to live this lifestyle as exemplified by your preparedness on all fronts. 3. You have chosen an off the beaten track life, and that's what so interesting and engaging about your videos. Thanks for all that you share!
1) I will continue to answer all the comment I can! I love engaging with my viewers. 🤗💚 2) Many years of dreaming and preparing for this life. I knew it would happen. And I am far too stubborn to fail 😉 3) I love having you along for my journey! I love learning new things! And I am just so happy to be living here! 😌 Thank you so much! 🧡😁
Consider carrying a good whistle. My son was hiking with a buddy when he hurt his leg and couldn't walk. His buddy left him by the side of the road under a tarp leanto to go get help. In the morning still by himself he started blowing that whistle and attracted other hikers. They came to his aid.
I have a whistle on my key chain but I am going to add a few more to my kits. A whistle out in the woods is normally an SOS so yeah that is a great idea! I am so glad your son is ok and was prepared! AWESOME! Thank you so much Karyn! 🧡🤗💚
You need a flare gun and a Garmin inreach mini in case you get hurt and need help. A orange emergency bivi bag and at the least carry an orange trash bag. A sewing kit with sail needle, quick clot powder and some guaze and a ace bandage. Carry paracord in your fak so you can make a splint. Powdered soup mixes, minute rice with spices, hot coco and tea. Gator aide packets, salt packets and a water filter orwater purification tabs. Put plenty of DRY tinder in your firekit and put that kit in a water proof dry bag. Always carry two pairs of warm wool socks. Pain relieving tablets. Bug spray. Toliet paper and wet wipes. A waterproof id tag or card.
It's so important that you get to know your neighbors because you may need each other's help one day. It's funny because our EDC are so polar opposite...lol. Only because I live in a suburb. Since COVID, I don't even carry a purse. I literally carry my debit card, driver's license in my pocket. A bottle of water in the summer. When I go feed the feral kitties at night, I do carry protection in addition. I've had some scary situations out there and it's become a necessity. Our world is vastly changing. When my dad and I go to Nevada, I carry a bag for us similar to yours but not nearly extensive. Only because I can't afford some items. We pass through the mountains and the Donner Summit, so the weather and terrain is completely different. I like to be prepared at all times but I definitely could add additional items as well, so thank you for sharing. I also abandoned my Instagram account a few years ago. It just wasn't for me. Please don't feel you have to respond to my comments. I know you get a ton of messages & honestly I don't know how you've been able to keep up with it all. Have a wonderful week! 💖
Love your videos. The sunglasses might be a necessity to carry because of the sun glare off the snow & sun blindness. I know you said you had a pair in your vehicle.
I am new to your channel and love learning about Alaska. In this very dark world of problems you are a bright light , sharing your journey in Alaska. Thank you. I look forward to your videos. I will lift you in prayer to stay safe and learn and grow in beautiful Alaska. Its like reading a great adventure book! Blessings 😉😊🤗
I am glad you finally got to meet some of your neighbors 😉. I love all your posts 😘. When I went to the course to carry, he said a woman should carry a knife with them. Good luck 🤞.
The neighbors and other people I have met here have been very helpful. They always tell me things to make sure I have and I have most of them already. They give me the gossip (as much as there can be out here) but the small group is great. All have been complete gentlemen/ladies. A woman with a small knife is like a crazed alley cat. Ain't nobody going to risk it! I really am happy you are enjoying my channel LaRue! Thank you so much! 🧡🤗💚
One thing I've found incredibly useful in my get- home bag (I also keep a few in my glove box) is OFF mosquito repellent wipes. Easier to pack than a can, never leaks, and there's no spray to inhale while applying it.
I like the wipes much better and I have some in my vehicle. I do use the spray around the property but only because its cheaper. I prefer the spray with no DEET but so far the wipes I have only found with DEET. Thank you so much Jeff! 😉🧡
I just came across a tip for kindling is to use a little pencil sharpener and use dry twigs to sharpen like a pencil to get shavings. I need to try that method.
LOL! I have been asked about turning my bunkhouse into an AirBnB but I don't think I could do that. 🤣The solitude out here is SO therapeutic! When it snows, everything just shuts down and you hear absolutely nothing. Like whispering is too loud. I would recommend it though to everyone. Get out of the city and just experience how great "nothing" can be! Thank you so much! 🧡🤗💚
I have to admit, I never thought I liked knives that much but I guess I do. 🤭 I do prefer quality knives though. The necklace part for the neck knife just has to have clasps that will break away but the heavy chain I use is awesome as another protection device! 😉🧡
Colorado has some very rough country as well! I have spent many days out in the Rocky Mountains! GPS is a smart idea for sure! I feel much better having it. Thank you so much Donald!
So excited for you and everything that is coming up! I love that you promote preparedness especially for everyone in the cold regions things can turn dangerous so quickly!
I do not. I have sunglasses but someone mentioned goggles and I have added them to the list. But thank you for reminding me to get shaded ones! 🙄 Where would I be without all of you! 😉🧡
I have made some of those and they indeed work awesome! Better than some of the prepackaged kinds I have purchased in the past. I have those two items in my first aid kit as well if I need to make more! 😉🧡
Go get 'em Alone ✌️👍👏👏👏 sure hope you had an amazing caribou hunt and your freezer is all the happier for it!!!!!!!!! May I note here my gratitude to you for your personal response to my every comment thus far on your videos. I am aware that your subscriber numbers have grown exponentially and that responding to everyone is now an ever increasing, time consuming event that is not maintainable, so if I don't get the prior responses, I understand ,and shall continue to follow you anyway. Much love & prayers for your safety and salvation from this Aussie Nan Down Under 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞✌️👍👏😍🇺🇲
Heather! I will keep responding to you until we have that Apple crisp/Apple struddle taste contest with Mountain Mariner! 🤣 I will continue to answer as many comments as I can though! I really do enjoy it. I do read every single comment even if I don't respond. And thank you so much Heather!🤗🧡
Kenai does that a lot! 🤣 He doesn't care what's there. Even when I was cleaning all the guns behind me he was like "I am going to lay here on top of your 45-70 until you scratch my belly!!" 🤗 An interesting thing happened to me while caribou hunting! No spoilers! 😉🧡
In Alaska (SNOW MACHINE) goggles. Men in black will take you away in Alaska if you call it a snow mobile. I have no idea why it is such a sacred name here though! 😁 You thought so many people end up missing in Alaska because of weather?? 🤫 I really like that idea though Greg and I have added it to my list! Awesome! 🤗🧡
I always carry benadryl after being at a friend's party and a person ate something they never had before and had a difficult time breathing. It was scarey. Thank God we had some allergy medication that helped slow the reaction till we arrived at the hospital. Please take care of yourself!
Good Afternoon my Young Friend, I hope you get something big tomorrow and send me a Leg of caribou, or at least a couple steaks I don't know how you do it I look at those weapons you have and I drool. But you got weapons you got the ammo as well as the first aid kits you're set. I can see the little one wants to play. Wants some attention. Have a good exciting weekend. My big friend out there says he keeping an eye on you to make sure you're safe. You have a great weekend stay safe and I know you're locked unloaded. LOVES
Hey Joe! Leg of Caribou is en route! I had to ship it ground so it should be there is a few short weeks! We couldn't find any ice packs so we used hand warmers instead! 🤭 I have slowly built up my gun collection but two of those rifles behind me are pellet guns. And one lever action 22. I had just cleaned all my guns for winter. 😉 Yes Kenai will always demand attention if I ignore him for 2-3 minutes! 🤣 And hunting trip will be discussed in the next video! Interesting stuff! Stay tuned! 🧡💚
That song may have had more compliments and requests for the name than any other song I have used in my videos. And hey! We agree! Kenai is the cutest dog!🤣 He just looked up at me and agreed too! 🧡🤗💚
Hi Thanks so much for such an informative video. Really handy, especially the neck knife. I'd have never thought about it. I'm gonna look for one. Your dog coming in the middle was the icing on the cake (I don't know if you say that in Alaska). Happy hunting . Keep us updated.
I had never thought about it either and had seen them. But it is nice to have it now! The chain can be used as a defense as well. And yes, icing on the cake for sure! He always does that if I am at his level or if he has been ignored for 2-3 minutes! 🤭🧡 I will have an update in my next video about the hunting trip! 🤫
I have a folding knife with 550 cord loop running thru the hole in the handle that I have on my wrist at all times when I’m out alone so that it cannot be taken away from me and used against me. Also, if I’m tackled from behind, I won’t lose the knife. I’ve practiced flicking it out, and I can flick it out like it’s a switchblade. The loop should be short enough so that the knife when you use it has the butt of the handle on the bony piece of your palm that is opposite your thumb. That way when you have to stab something, the butt of the knife goes into your palm, and the knife doesn’t slide out of your hand upon impact. Your preparation is first class! Second to none!
Yeah I love that! Very practical and with practice can be very deadly if needed! Like a switch blade! 👍 🤭 I do like the knives that have that finger notch. Just makes it fit so much better. I don't "practice" with my knives (like you do) but I do keep them sharp. But I have been known to do some knife throwing. Very badly I might add! 🤪🤣
Ahhh good to know! I have worked with Briggs and Stratton products before so I know they are pretty good (so far). And I do know where Alaska Industrial is! Thank you so much Big T! 🧡🤗💚
Tundra gods, the caribou. Gone today turning up at any time. Six trips to caribou land up the Dalton Highway, we harvest three times on three separate trips. My first go, we saw one and we took him at 100 yards, an old bull. It was a very fun and exciting trips; all.
Precious Kenai just wants his mama's attention. He's so sweet! I sure hope your hunting goes great! Have fun. Give Kenai a kiss and a hug for me. Oh go ahead and give Kenai a few kisses and hugs from me.😀😊 Thankyou. Take care and God Bless you and Kenai always
So every time someone asks me to do something to Kenai, since he is always by my side, I actually do it. But just one is never enough for Kenai. One kiss or one hug ALWAYS turns out to be many! He has no idea why I am doing it but he loves it and demands more! 🧡🤗💚😉
Something I just thought of for all of your various bags is something to do to keep the boredom away such as a book to read, soduku book, yarn to nit, or something. Something to consider with bear spray, you have to be up wind when using it. An alternative to bear spray is wasp spray. It has a solid stream and can shoot 25 - 30 feet and doesn't matter if you up or down wind when using.
I have heard of using wasp spray! I have to look into that. I have had it nearby at times when I didn't have bear spray as I figured it was better than nothing. 😉 But I do know about being upwind. If you can even remember that when its time to use it. As for boredom, I watch Les Stroud (Survivorman) and he has mentioned boredom as a big problem after you have set up your basics. You can only skip rocks for so long! 🤣 I have sunflower seeds but those will only last so long. I will throw in a book! If anything, it can be used as kindling if its a boring read!
These videos shows how talented you are in these presentations. Presented so well but I could imagine how much time and effort it takes. Scenery utmost beautiful. Your safety preparedness is a education to me. Gave fun on your Caribou hunting. Glad for your neighbors how nice they are. Short vidoes very good idea. Thanks again for sharing. Until next time. You are amazing such accomplishments.
Well thank you so much Josefa! 🤗The kits do take a lot of time and planning but they are fun to put together! So happy you liked the video and learned something! I had a great time hunting and am going again tomorrow! And yeah this video was supposed to be one of those short update videos! Ended up being 30 minutes! A last minute video! Lots to talk about in the next video Josefa! Thank you!😁🧡
We were off for a hike came back and noticed your new video. Great one. We keep a long knife and short one in our back pack as well as a whistle among other things. Loved the Kenai part. As for something we always have because we live in Minnesota are netting jackets. They are compact but when the mosquitoes are out they are life savers. You may want one for in your car if you get stuck someplace. We also have the netting covers for just your head. Neck knife great idea. Once again stay safe and good blessings Dear lady.
I do have a whistle but I keep it on my key chain. But you made me think about that and I am going to add one to my survival kit. I do keep one in my tackle bag too. But a netting jacket! BRILLIANT! A viewer sent me the face cover one but a jacket would just make sense! What's the point of surviving if you are all puffy form getting bit so much! 🤪🤭😁💚
Blood stopper , I buy it at tractor supply it's good to stop up a bad leak. Could be a life saver. As aside you might want to try using clothes that blend in with the surrounding, black clothes in an area with basic light brown stands out and the game might think you are a bear.
I have bleedstop powder and tourniquets. A "Stop the Bleed" class is always a good idea too! And you may be correct about the black sweater and also my blonde hair! I am looking into some woodland camo or digicam. I will be better prepared for next years hunt including my own 30.06. Funny as I was looking at people hunting out where we were and there really is no standard hunting gear. I saw everything from blazing orange to bright pink puffer jackets. Maybe a handful of camo. 😉🧡
We were due for a Kenai cameo...lol! He is super adorable! I do think people underestimate the need for edc or go bags in their car. I have a 40 min drive to the office, but if something happened it's a 17 hour walk home with no short cuts due to the river and mountains. Good luck on the hunt!!
Keani is my comic relief! When he wants to be pet, NOTHING stands in his way! I think "Go Bags" have always been a thing. I always remember my dad having "supplies". But yeah, always think about things like you just mentioned! 40 minute drive equals 17 hour walk. That's no joke! Thank you so much Joyce! 😉💚
Woohoo! A thrill ride of preparedness!! I swear, you could grab a side hustle as a prep consultant!! So cool. I love my head lamp too! And I need to restock our first aid pack and get one for the car and truck. I had one, and it disappeared somehow. One of our sons was hurt badly in a Bradley accident last year, and even though you'd expect folks to be prepared in that line of work, no balls were dropped- it was immediate action. Accidents of the WEIRDEST kind can happen in the blink of an eye! Thanks as always for your awesome content!! I'll be praying for your safety tomorrow and a successful hunt! (Then you can tell us how to cook it! Lol)
Please Leigh! restock and create some kits! Tell hubby he can even make one for the tractor 🤭 Oh I have a story for you for this hunt! Pretty interesting day! Similar to what happened with your son! No spoilers! 🤫 I predict a sunday cooking video! Maybe not this sunday though! Whew what a week! 😉🧡
Uh-oh!!! I hope all is well!!! And I definitely hear that; its been a wild week here too!! Looking forward to you catching us up, and always look forward to those amazing recipes and cooking vids!!! Hope your week is a bit quieter and you get some rest!! (Rest..what's THAT?? lol)❤
When your faced with a bad situation on the road and low temperatures all you have is your gear and your self to get back home where its warm , looks like your prepared , nice job .
Exactly! OR it's good to have supplies to stay in place. Either way you are dead without it. And it always feels so much better to be prepared! Thank you so much Mike! 🧡🤗💚
The only thing that I use every time I end up cutting myself is toilet paper and Electrical tape 😁 Ya I have tryed a lot of stuff even stitching up myself but with out a good freezing it's hard and I have even cut throw tendons with Machetes Ya it Happens when your in the bush by your self always come back to toilet paper and the tape 🤣🤣
Toilet paper/electrical tape bandaids are a time honored skill passed on from generation to generation.🤣 I have even skipped the electrical tape and used my hair band. I just need it to stop bleeding (so it wont get blood on everything) and then it's gone! Pretty sure there is a doctor or nurse reading this just shaking their head right now! 😉🧡
Not to bad for a video I put together in a few hours! This was not really supposed to be my regular video. It was also supposed to be a quick ten minute update! OOOPS! 😉🧡
I sure hope you got yourself some meat Alone. Please do keep us posted by shorts Thru the winter thst you're safe. I did worry about you last winter. You are a strong woman thst I admire. Be safe and be blessed.
Ahhh thank you Carol! 🤗And yeah, last winter was a scary one! When the snows got really heavy I just hoped my roof would make it just a few more weeks! The popping and cracking was NERVE RACKING!!! 🤪
I love you your my kind of woman so strong and so brave I meant that in the kindest and loving way sending all best stay safe and healthy my dear bye from cape breton Nova Scotia Canada 🥰
Ahhh thank you so much Pauline! I could only take such a kind compliment in a kind and loving way! But I am also pretty darn stubborn too! I refuse to fail! 😉🧡
Always protect yourself Judy! No matter how you have to do it. Carry a samurai sword if you have to! Ain't nobody coming near you with a samurai sword! But a gun would be more practical! 😉🧡
Wow! You never cease to amaze me! And those guns, my family have carrying permits , so my boys carry guns, and we have stocked up on ammo, for if the SHTF we can hunt and defend our loved ones! This world is just getting crazier as time goes! I do know We Are Living In Perilous times!?! The Word of God tells us of the things that are coming upon this Land
Thank you Michael! I do go "scene hunting" just for those segments and always make sure to record when I am out driving! Luckily with "scene hunting" I never get skunked! 🤣 I will tell all about the hunt in this weeks video! Thank you so much Michael! 🧡🤗💚
So happy you enjoyed my last minute video! Supposed to be 10 minutes! 🤣 And thank you so much Darlene! I will "tell all" about the hunt in my next video! SHHHHH🤫
This was an awesome video. I am afraid I have been pretty lax living in the bush and not carrying a firearm. Lately i have been looking into getting a defender shot gun. Just for when we are walking around in the bush or on the quad. We have been living here for 25 years without carrying….but we need to start doing that. Especially now that we have more grizzly hanging around our yard. Great video and I love your go bag. Mine needs some updating after seeing yours. Thanks so much, 🇨🇦💕
I think a pistol would be better but a shotgun with slugs cant be beat! I actually carry more because of the moose than bears but I do feel safer carrying! It only takes one bad encounter! Sorry I didn't go into more detail about my go bag! this was supposed to be an update video I put together quickly and I thought I could do the Gobag part quickly! 30 minutes later! LOL! 😁😉🧡 Get your bag updated Lyn! Please!
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska yes a pistol would be great, but there are so many hoops to jump thru to get a pistol here in Canada. I have sabbath slugs and regular slugs and both are awesome. Thanks so much for your advice and suggestions, I am working on my bag as we speak 🌷
Greetings from South Australia..........almost a universe away..!! Do you ever get worried that a large bear would break through the windows in search of food and attack you....???? Love your videos..!.......(not much snow in Australia though..!). My very best regards to you, as you forge out this new and wonderful destiny which you are pursuing.
Please don't worry about responding to people well, I should at least say responding to me, lol! I don't think there could be any possible way that you could respond to every single comment on every single video. That's just not feasible. Sometimes I comment just for the sake of doing it and if you see it fine and if you don't see it that's fine too. I just love your content!
Well thank you so much Dayna!🤗 To start, I read every single comment no matter what. I like to respond to everyone if I can and I treat all comments like a one on one conversation. So they are fun to respond to! 😁 I want to work on getting a VLOG video out every week and then an "off topic" video on Sundays. Interviews, cooking or just something that cant be a full video. Shorts will be more recruiting videos for people to find my channel. More videos mean more comments and it has reached a point that there just isn't enough hours in a day 🤣 Just know that even if I do not respond that I did read it! I also like that some commenters are answering questions for me! Now that is just full on community there! 🧡💚
Lady I respect your spunk and determination. You do well. You are one heck of a woman. Props girl, give it your best. PS former military, gloves and SOX. Cold hands and wet feet are a huge detriment to survival.
Well thank you so much James! I really do appreciate the compliments! 🤗 And I am all about wool gloves and sox. Wool is the miracle fabric as far as I am concerned. I even wear wool in summer. 😉🧡
That's a K Bar. That knife if made correctly should be a through tang and has that but plate on the back of the handle for self defense. It's the number one used knife in the Marine Corp
K Bar is a good knife I 100% agree! I couldn't find the knife I actually have so I just barrowed a picture from Google. A bit confusing I know! Sorry about that. The knife I have around the house to open up packages was like 7 dollars at Walmart. Definitely not a name brand knife! 😉🧡
The knife you showed is a Kbar style knife. It is a full length rat tail tang. If you look at the pommel you should see a round area. That is where the pommel is attached to the rat tail tang. That is the style knife that the military issues to our boys.
Hey Rob! I threw this video together last minute and couldn't find the knife I actually have so borrowed an image from Google. I should have explained that better. John was correct about the email address but you have to click on the "View Email Address" button. It also says for business inquiries only. But just in case (I am not allowed to type it out here or TH-cam will delete my comment) It is may channel name at gmail. Gnomie contacts me there sometimes as well so you could get it from him too. 😉🧡
Great video. Some good stuff in your go bag . Folding saw is about the only thing I didnt see . Good one not a cheapy . Watching this one late because Susie and I just got back from the homestead . Hopefully you are editing a harvest video right now. Cheers and good luck on the hunt.
Well I cannot confirm or deny any info about the caribou hunt at this time 🤭 But I will be talking about it in my next video! I do have a folding saw but not in any of my kits. I actually have a collapsible bow saw that I picked up somewhere online many moons ago. I watched your last video and I only saw Susie working. 🤣 OK OK the new wood stove will be awesome!
I’m really happy about the way you are going to do a community information short video. I didn’t even know about the community tab till about two or so months ago Very informative video on safety and things to carry. Thank you ~ Janet 😘
I could tell that many were not seeing my community posts just because of the amount of comments. But when I did a short update video, it got almost as many views as a regular video. So that settled that! This video was made fairly quickly to be an update video but ended up being 30 minutes! 🤭😉
My son came into the room as I was watching this video and he worried I was watching an extremist blog 😂. Thank you for reassuring us that you have your safety covered. Wishing you peace and solitude throughout the winter from Scotland ❤
It did look like an extremist recruitment video didn't it! Alaska Power! 👍 Ok tell your son I had just cleaned all my guns for winter. And the black sweater is my hunting sweater! 🤣 I think my safety is covered best I can and the peace and solitude is here! Until Kenai starts snoring! 🤪
Nothing like a striker.. They always work. I love how organized you are.👊 Off roading in Colorado. Black bear pass that’s the only trail I did there. Way more Moab. It was closer. I did take the train from Durango to Silverton. Wow what a beautiful ride. Great video. Have a fantastic week..!!
Black Bear Pass? That is some serious off roading there Ron! Moab seems nice. Never been unfortunately. But I always wanted to do the Durango to Silverton train! I bet that was incredible! Thank you Ron! 😉🧡
Another good video on personal safety. Good luck on your hunt. Apparently Mom's attention wasn't on Kenai so I'll come and bug her 😂. Reminds me when I'd get a phone call and my kids would bug when before they ignored me 🤪. Hugs to Kenai. Be Blessed and safe on your hunt. 😊🇺🇲
Kenai hates the camera for some reason. But when he wants attention he just doesn't care. 🤣 He jumps on my lap when I am sitting in a chair editing my videos to tell me its time to pet me! All while I am screaming in pain! 😉💚 And yeah my kids did the same exact thing! 😂
I think Kenai was saying " I 'm the best protection you have " !!!! Lol. Glad to see you doing well and that you have good neighbors even though they are not next door. But,they are a quick phone call away.
He could say that but the other day he heard a mouse in the wall and he practically climb on top of my head!🤭🤣 As far as the neighbors yes! Last winter I knew nobody out here. This year I have a couple options if an emergency happens! Feels better and safer. 🧡
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska hahaha...Kenai is something else. Kinda like my crew around here..all big and bad about things then let a bug start flying around and they all scared. 😱
This was very informative video! I don't have a "Go Bag" per say, but I do have a duffel bag in my car with extra clothing, matches in a small mason jar, wipes & other personal hygiene. My brother, who is a reserve police officer & volunteer firefighter, gave me a thing of police grace pepper spray. We check it often. I do not have a conceal carry permit, but my pepper spray is at less than arms reach. I do always have water & snacks with me. I do need to create a first aid kit-will do that this week. I'm making my list as I watch this...lol! I hope your caribou hunt is very successful! It is getting cold here in NC, so best to be prepared! You & Kenai stay safe, warm, & prepared! Take care my friend! 💜🙏
You may not have a go bag but you seem to have just about everything you need! But yes please get a first aid kit! 😉 Pepper spray is effective and I am so glad you have some. I have seen people conceal carry bear spray! Supposed to be 3 times stronger. A very interesting thing happened to me on the way back from hunting! More on the next video! Stay tuned! Thank you so much Teresa! 🧡🤗💚
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska I do have bear spray in my house, we are prone to having black bear in the winter. Actually, a man killed a 975 lb black bear in an adjacent county.😬😳
LOL! Funny thing is, some of those guns I had no idea what I was buying. I just bought some. Luckily they turned out to be pretty good ones. I have too many shotguns but I did 100% know about the 45-70 behind me. I love that rifle but wow do I get a headache when I practice with it! I only have 4-5 more guns to buy! LOL😉🧡
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska yes , my 30-30 is smooth shot but I have to base it on something.. I wish I had more amo and more practicing on them all! My handgun is my Mossberg!! I have Long fingers and it fits like a glove !!
@@TakeTheNameGodsGirlz Well Lori, I am not going to lie, I had no idea Mossberg even made handguns! I honestly have never seen one at any gun store I have been to. And wow what a neat looking line of pistols they make. Maybe that's why I have never seen one?
Excellent video! I believe you may live in the most beautiful location on earth backing up to the park. Love it! Kenai was ready to play. LOL Good luck on your hunt! I'm hoping for a successful hunt to fill your freezer. You are an amazing role model. Stay safe and warm! ❤🙏
I may just have to agree with you there 😁 It keeps surprising me all the time. Kenai tends to do that more often than not. It's like the items on the floor don't exist to him! But AT LEAST he doesn't do that when I am working on the table! 🤣 I will tell all about the hunt in the next video! Still shooting for Thursday! 😉🧡 And thank you so much for the compliment! 🤗
Something here may be of value. Fleece clothing is warm when wet and dries fast and is light weight. A red fleece blanket or clothing can be used for signaling. Down clothing is useless when wet but nice if dry. Wool is warm when wet. A good quality pruning saw with a folding blade is very handy. Less tiring at times than swinging an axe and can cut a snagged bush from snow machine skis easier than an axe. A very handy tool. An Estwing campers axe has a rubber covered steel handle that won't break and a pounding tool opposite the blade. An aluminum D handle short grain shovel is tougher than a plastic one and moves a lot of snow in short time. Can be used to heap a pile of snow that will harden enough in a few hours then hollow out for igloo. Cover entrance and make small hole in roof A single candle inside will give a lot of light and be around 25* even if it's -35* below outside. A pen style flare gun is small but very effective if needed. Been there, done that!
This gal is all about wool! I wear wool even in summer. I do have the two orange signaling tarps (not sure if I mentioned them but I think they were in the frame). I have a so so folding saw but its small. I carry a collapsible bow saw and a curved machete. I seem to get deeper cuts with the machete. But I still keep an axe on board. I 100% agree about the D handle on just about any shovel. Better for my wrists too. I have not seen a pen sized flare gun though! Very interesting! I will have to look into that! It obviously came in handy for you! 😉🧡
Looks like a pretty extensive go bag I think you thought of pretty much everything might I suggest a kitchen sink you might get thirsty or need to wash your hands. Also a car door so you can roll down the window if you get to warm packing all that gear. In all seriousness it looks to me that your very well prepared. Have fun tomorrow and may you have to deal with the mess of success.
I approached making these kits back in Colorado. I used the "Not So Remote Alaska" technique. A little at a time. I heard a wise man say "You cant afford not to do it". I don't know this man's name but he has a great German Sheppard named Khionne. But a kitchen sink!! BRILLIANT! 🤣🤪🧡
In South Africa 🇿🇦, where I live, blackouts occur every day, sometimes up to 9hrs a day. So solar and a backup generator are a necessity, if u want to do anything. Plus lamps/torches/headlamps/gas stoves.
Thank you so much! The hunt was a very interesting adventure this time. More to come on the next video! And yeah a survival blanket is crucial. I keep 2 in my survival kit and 2 in my first aid kits. Good thing they are fairly cheap! 😉💚
Couple years ago I picked up a used US military MSS (the old woodland camo version) that I keep in my truck during the winter. Haven't had to use it yet but I know I have a very sufficient sleep system in case I need it.
A MSS would be awesome to find IF I could get one at a good price! They are pricey but worth it! I keep watch for stuff like that to come up for sale new or used. 😉🧡
Luckily for me I have not had to use either. I do stay in practice with my guns and this is why th-cam.com/video/wj7Z5oMWuIU/w-d-xo.html The bear spray is good to have but you have to be fairly close and have to make sure the wind is not blowing towards you. Also I have mostly black bears on my property so luckily they generally scare pretty easy and run off. 😁🧡
Anyone on medications should think about rotating thru their kits medications they take daily. If a trip has an unexpected delay you’ll be glad you have no worries.
Very good point! I am going to pin this comment! Thank you Donna! 🧡🤗💚
You are an amazingly strong woman. Brave doesn't cover you or your wonderful attitude You go beyond brave! God Bless You.
how perfectly said! I completely agree.
Ahh well thank you kindly Sandra! I think there is a bit of stubbornness in that mix too! 🤣🧡
Thank you so much Christa! 🤗🧡
2) Many years of dreaming and preparing for this life. I knew it would happen. And I am far too stubborn to fail 😉
3) I love having you along for my journey! I love learning new things! And I am just so happy to be living here! 😌
Thank you so much!
Hi Alone, I always carry tampons, because pulled apart they make the best tinder and they take up no room. Hope you have a successful hunt.
Dryer vent fuzz works very well as tinder, doesn’t cost anything, and is super lightweight. I save it and use it to start fires.
Great idea. I'll tell my son. Not only will it help with a fire but his buddies can have a good laugh on his firestarter
I have some in my first aid kit! Great dual use item now! Thank you so much Belle! 🧡
I have dryer lint in my kit too! But I will run out. No more dryer! 🤭
Oh. Good! I missed this bear spray info when I commented that I wished you had some bear spray…😂
I actually have about 4 cans of bear spray all over the place. 😉🧡
Nice collections of rifles
Two of those were pellet guns and one was a lever action 22. The Mosin and 45-70 are my good rifles. A comfort to have, just in case. 😉💚
Ahhh thank you so much! WOW! So many compliments! It is an honor to have you along for my journey here! 🧡🤗💚
If ya like what you’ve seen go back and watch her entire journey. It’s a very informative and enjoyable and an easy watch. She a stand up lady
@@rbhhaner6151 Ahhhh thank you kindly!
I love that! I am definitely getting pencil sharpeners! Thank you Juana! 🧡🤗💚
Thanks for sharing dear Alone. You are really well equipped for everything! Nice to know you are safe in tat way!
Took me a few years to make all the kits I have but it was worth it! All necessary to have up here! I try to keep me and Kenai safe! Thank you! 😉🧡
Thank you so much for the video. You’re a good teacher. Thank you again.
Ahhh thank you so much Denise! 🧡🤗💚 And you are very welcome!
Thank God for men like fireman who are there for people.
I have nothing but respect for first responders that sacrifice so much to make sure we all stay safe. Thank you so much Batsheva! 🧡🤗💚
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska oh I was one of those first responders x 2. Cop then nurse
@@Sarahdrybones No kidding! Well THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE Batsheva! 100% respect!
Another wonderful video, Alone. Winter is coming soon, good you are almost ready.
Almost! Getting ready to hunker down for a long winter is fun though! Thank you Moose! 😉🧡
I'd love to come and stay a short while with you.
That solitude and isolation looks like heaven.
Love my neck knife. I love your idea of a necklace. The one that comes with it is pretty obvious. I love knives. Some good tips.
I have to admit, I never thought I liked knives that much but I guess I do. 🤭 I do prefer quality knives though. The necklace part for the neck knife just has to have clasps that will break away but the heavy chain I use is awesome as another protection device! 😉🧡
Even in Colorado I don’t travel anywhere without some form of GPS to get me out. You, however, are extremely well prepared!
Colorado has some very rough country as well! I have spent many days out in the Rocky Mountains! GPS is a smart idea for sure! I feel much better having it. Thank you so much Donald!
Such accelerating video!! Best one yet.🌸
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it! Now go make a GoBag!! 😉🧡
So excited for you and everything that is coming up! I love that you promote preparedness especially for everyone in the cold regions things can turn dangerous so quickly!
Thank you so much Morgan! Yeah these little "kits" could save your life someday. So worth doing. It's almost a state law up here! 🤣🧡
Might think of some shaded goggles in case your caught in cold windy conditions, unless you already have them.
I do not. I have sunglasses but someone mentioned goggles and I have added them to the list. But thank you for reminding me to get shaded ones! 🙄 Where would I be without all of you! 😉🧡
A metal cup, try military canteen cup
Oh yeah I have one of those! The kind that the canteen slips into when in the pouch! Oh coffee taste so good out of those cups! Not sure why! 😁🧡
To go with the ferrou rod have a small bag of cotton balls with petroleum jelly messaged in. It will take only one spark to light it up.
Hi Alone. I love how Kenai comes in and says, ''Mom, I need some attention!", LOL. Wishing you good luck on your hunt. Take care
The knife necklace is my favorite accessory. Mine came on a chain that blends in with another necklace and provides me a good sense of security.
Exactly! And the chain can be used for protection as well! Knife in one hand and whip in the other! Ain't nobody messing with Camille! 😉🧡
I love the John Williams intro and all your videos. Thank you for sharing your life and experiences.
SNOW(MOBILE) GOGGLES. Good luck in your hunt!
I have allergy meds in my first aid kit. A definite necessity! Thank you so much Renee! 😁💚
Stay tuned! 🧡💚
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska Love You Anne, and I'll be waiting for the Caribou.🌹🤣🤣🤣
Excellent videos! Love your content!
Love the rich sounds of the acoustic guitar. Kenai is the cutest dog!
That song may have had more compliments and requests for the name than any other song I have used in my videos. And hey! We agree! Kenai is the cutest dog!🤣 He just looked up at me and agreed too! 🧡🤗💚
Wishing you many blessings to fill the freezer. Take care and be safe on your hunts 🙏
I will have full freezers this year! Maybe caribou? Maybe ?? Next video will tell all! 😉🧡
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska Yay! I can't wait to see ❤️
Hi
Thanks so much for such an informative video.
I just came across this channel, I needed someone to learn from and inspire me to get out of my comfort zone. Much love/prayers here from Indiana 🙃

That's wonderful that you all watch out for each other. You are a very smart, well prepared wilderness woman ! Thanks for the video 😘🍃🍂🍁🎃💗✝
It is a close community which is good and bad. 🤪 Nothing like everybody knowing your business! Now go get a kit put together! 🤣
Oh Kenai! I adore you!! 🥰🥰
You know he hates the camera but I guess he hates being ignored even more! He is my daily comic relief! 😉🤗🧡
Have fun in your Caribou hunting.
Thank you!😁🧡
Thank you for the advice on the neck knife. I have one. But I like the longer chain .
Good to hear Linda! Use a good sturdy chain and then that can be used for protection as well! WHIP! 😁🧡
Wow they have beautiful antlers
Oh yeah they sure do! Massive too! A very gorgeous animal. 😉🧡
Glad you get another chance to get meat for the freezer. Stay safe out there and good luck.
And again tomorrow! When the caribou are on the move, everyone moves with it! Thank you so much Michelle! 🧡🤗💚
I love my 357..👊
Just enough. Not too much. Ain't nobody messing with you though! 😁🤣

Do not see email in the description. Maybe I missed it?

@@johninalaska9563 duh I forgot about that. Thanks bro.
@@johninalaska9563 I’m I must be blind I still do not see an email. No worries I will figure it out
You’re such a brave and inspiring woman ! The scenery is beautiful ❤❤
Well thank you kindly Leslie! Living here is just amazing! I feel very lucky. 😉🧡
Thank you.
You are very welcome! 🤗🧡
Enjoyed seeing all the stuff you carry in your to go bag. Good luck on the hunt (I hope you got one).
Thank you so much Leilani! I will definitely be talking about the hunt on next video! 😉💚
I certainly did misjudge you. You are a very seriously prepared and smart off the grid person.
@@teresahunter7645 Now that's a big bear! I bet that filled a freezer though!
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska I'm sure it filled more than one freezer...lol.
Time to up our game girlz!!
My gun selection is 6 .. haha and I love yours!! Good hunting!!
Happy hunting Alone!
Thank you so much Beth! Update on the hunt will be on this weeks video! 🧡😉
BRILLIANT! 🤣🤪🧡
Good luck on your hunt.
Thank you so much Judy! I will tell all in my next video! 😉💚
In South Africa 🇿🇦, where I live, blackouts occur every day, sometimes up to 9hrs a day. So solar and a backup generator are a necessity, if u want to do anything. Plus lamps/torches/headlamps/gas stoves.
Stay safe out there💪😊❤️
I will and you do the same! Especially with all those .......um ..... big spiders! HA! You thought I was going to say it yet again! 😉💚
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska 😅
Large bandages are expensive so I bought a new white cotton sheet , ripped into 2 inch strips and panty liners they are sterile and work great.
Well that was smart! Reminds me of ladies ripping their dresses or slips to make a bandage! 😁🧡
Thanks for the updates on your videos! Best of luck on your hunt!
Thank you so much Michelle! 🧡😉
Edc planning is very good, good complete discussion, and presentation.
Thank you so much Jay! 🧡🤗💚
Excellent presentation, Alone. Thank you kindly!
Thank you so much Mark! 🤗🧡
Good luck on your hunt! A Survival Lightweight Blanket is a must!
Thank you so much! The hunt was a very interesting adventure this time. More to come on the next video! And yeah a survival blanket is crucial. I keep 2 in my survival kit and 2 in my first aid kits. Good thing they are fairly cheap! 😉💚
Take a look at Far North Bushcraft and Survival. Connie and Lonnie, have some very informative videos. Happy New Year. 🎉🎉🎉
Have you ever had to use bear spray on a bear? Have you had to use your gun to protect yourself or Kenai from an animal? You’re so brave!
Luckily for me I have not had to use either. I do stay in practice with my guns and this is why
th-cam.com/video/wj7Z5oMWuIU/w-d-xo.html
The bear spray is good to have but you have to be fairly close and have to make sure the wind is not blowing towards you. Also I have mostly black bears on my property so luckily they generally scare pretty easy and run off. 😁🧡
@@AloneinRemoteAlaska, wow, that video was scary! I know normally you don’t want to leave a wounded animal, but with cubs, that’s a hard call. Whew!
