Thank you so very Much for your comment and Kindness . Your Words are only the truth and we are gifted to have him . Thank you again and warm greatings from France
I think he is the best guitar player in this style of music. He has all the technique, but also his playing is colorful, creative, dynamically interesting, he really improvises. This really sets him apart from other great acoustic guitar players of such as Tommy Emmanuel and Joscho Stephan, who have big technique and musicality, but have troubles improvising creatively. Lagrene also plays great electric jazz guitar, I really like his renditions of simple things like Isn't she Lovely on a jazz-box or a 335-type instrument. Of course he also performs more complex standard jazz music, but here I sometimes find he is jumping around the neck too much. If one would look for other weaknesses, Lagrene is not that comfortable on a solid body, electric fusion is just not his main style, I think he does not spend enough time on getting the "tone", a critical component in electric solid body playing (it takes years to find the right amp, effects, guitar settings etc.). But on the other hand, try to imagine Oz Noy or Robben Ford on acoustic doing things Birely does, one just cannot do everything and that's OK. Lagrene is rooted in European tradition (obviously in his early days inspired by Django), and he does not do much US-style country. I find it good, not all people should try to play the same stuff.
I don't find Joscho having any issue at improvising creativity. But his style is more clean and tight and Birelli seems to take more risks in a way. On the other side, Joscho has a so amazing technic than he never seems to be in an uncomfortable zone.
Merveilleux bireli !!
I've seen Mr. Lagrene at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix twice, the second time with Martin Taylor. Two of the finest guitar concerts I've ever seen. Astonishingly good playing....Lol, I play guitar and I was thoroughly humiliated in a very good way...Can't wait to see him again.
Merveilleuse.
Top skill guitarist! WIsh I could find that Montreal concert where his band walk away off stage to leave him with his very upbeat awesome solo. Montrux or something?
It seems you have listened that😉👍 Hope you enjoyd it as much as I do every time. On Thuesday 19'00 there is a concert of Tommy Emmanuell in Krakow . I'll try to meet him (for the third time already) after the show. Wish me luck and I wish you luck👍😉
Rémi B. Goode nah - he sometimes actually plays acoustic on his jazz guitar - still sounds fantastic, but agree it's not like the fully acoustic experience with the heavy heavy strings and all. Besides, maybe Grasso is more like the Bud Powell of guitar
Merveilleux enregistrement...
Aside from John McLaughlin, is there a better guitarist/musician out there? Bireli your playing and tone is extraordinary! Please come and play in Ireland when this pandemic is over!!!
@@azerreza4770pourquoi ?
They toured together with Larry Coryell as the "Super Guitar Trio" around 1990. Rumour has it that Al discontinued the project, as he felt overshadowed by Bireli. I don't know whether that's true, but I find that Bireli is a better all round musician and (certainly) improviser. Not to discredit Al, his contribution to fusion,jazz-rock and classical guitar will always remain pivotal!

beau...
The "plectrum" Art Tatum of the guitar ! Merci pour cette incroyable enregistrement
No - that'll be Pasquale Grasso
@@FenceThis no, if u unplugged the guy it sounds like crap imao

Bom demais.

Which model Yamaha is that?
LL26, I believe.

what?
Lol
I think Bireli has a slight edge over Al Di Meola, I never though I’d be able to say that, would’ve love to see them both on the same stage.
a 'slight' edge!?
There are youtube videos where they play together.
