There is approximately 400 distinct consonant/voyelle in Mandarin Chinese, according to bopomofo lists I collected in Chinese text editor. Marcelito don't confuse a single one, as far as I can tell from the pinyin pronunciation on the characters.
According to him he learned it by just listening to the song.
