Penuel, as a lover of great educational conversations “Dope Convos” I have personally gained so much from your platform. I would love to be a paying member and I feel it’s a right thing to do. Such platforms have to be backed up financially by us who believe in contributing positively or transferring knowledge to the masses. The first time I heard you was on Sankofa with Bishop Maponga and ever since I never looked back.
Bro that Conversation brought the best out of Penuel. I've never seen anyone who's been able to do that with Penuel, Nkululeko tried but Bishop Maponga knows how to elevate a person to be their best.
Honoured to have hosted Lebo... and this will hopefully be one of many chats that we'll have over marketing, and helping business owners, employees, online content creators to brand themselves for success!!! Please enjoy the conversation... offer suggestions, ask questions and add any other comments you'd like.
You would think that after listening to someone for many hours, they could never surprise you. I am so happy that I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the thoughts that Lebo continues to add to the culture. You are a well that never runs dry.
Appreciate the pearl Lebo is. Totally concur, girls and women need exclusive spaces to nurture them to thrive. On the digital first strategy, I think a diverse marketing strategies is a more balanced approach given our population profile. Sadly, digital inclusion is still an ongoing project.
I love Lebo and her convictions about life and her brand...she seems straightforward, a yes or no person no in-between and second guessing. May she continue to soar/roar...Im going to make an intentional decision to watch more of her podcast/channel, I been slacking on that.
I think on the evolution of marketing, south Africa or Africa as a whole is still yet to adapt fully to the internet, there are people who still don't trust online shopping, big business knows this hence much of their marketing is still pretty much physical adverts. Correct me if am wrong but lekau with drip started online but he had to move to physical stores because the people who have the money still prefer to go into a store and buy, the youth who are the ones who are mostly on the internet are unemployed meaning they don't hold too much buying power, but I stand to be corrected
As someone who is first of all trained in Marketing, worked/managed in the telecom industry, as well as the motor industry for over 18 year's, you are 1000% correct. Don't let anyone BS you, the "Tech" idea, is very expensive, it's a huge cost to carry, and with very little return in my case, it's just being "accommodating" more than anything. Further, as someone who has worked in Telecom/Cellular for the largest incumbents in the whole continent, on all 3 LSM's, i'll tell you for free, South Africa has very few people who are "Tech Proficient" and people who can comfortable afford data as well as enabling device's, most people reading this comment probably have cracked screens on their phone's, and this won't change in the short to medium term, people can mostly afford to watch YT with midnight data. The online world is very exclusive, and if i don't sugar coat it(as a black man) it's middle age white men and senior white who buy this stuff in huge bulk, shooting the data numbers up, our overall net usage per person in the country looks decent, because of a small cohort of ultra user's, data sales and cellular sales look decent for Similar reasons, and a small group of men, buying in bulk for their companies. The majority (non white) South Africans aren't proficient in this stuff, and don't have the luxury of data to use, on browsing as much as they would like, and as a matter of fact, very few, rich men and women are "techies" they want people to sit down with them and show them stuff(frankly do), as all sales professionals know, high ticket transactions(sales)/money,is sitting in the pockets of senior men/women. Sure, cater for all class frequencies(age groups) but be very mindful not to force your customers "online" as they will simply leave, go to more "in person" environments, as in my world, physical channel, far outweighs "digital/online" I hope i answered your question.

I looooooove what Lebo said about people weaponising a woman’s age. That time we are more aware, monies and nicer and switched on as we get older
Love her confidence and the she articulates issues, it's a shame she doesn’t want to get married otherwise she would've brought a lot to the table.

I hope i answered your question.
Based on what do these companies win awards . Is it because they use modern technology to advertise or they because they grab people's attention?
That’s a great question. I’m saving it so we can discuss it in detail in a podcast episode.
shes open minded and dont cry for nothing
I Don't know why she reminds Me of Thando Thabethe who I haven't see in a minute
After she couldn't share her real name, I ended it right there.
