Could you do a short video (or explanation here) about the AUTO ignition option? When does it come on automatically and when do you still need to switch it to CONT/FLIGHT modes? Also same for the auto probe heats.
I'm a lot more comfortable using the HUD on approach and landing. As it gives you greater situational awareness. Conversely I'm not comfortable using the HU3on takeoff as I seem to not pitch up enough.. Its weird...
I'll have a video covering the takeoff using the HUD up very soon. It's already available for channel members to pre-view it and will come for everyone in the next few days or week or so.
The control panel for the HUD is a little bit weird. All documentation I've found for PMDG said, the runway length must be entered in feet. There is an old thread on the forums about this. Are you sure we need to enter rw length here in meters? Also according to the manual for the HGS model 4000, the unit indicator should be after the number and not before. So, I'm confused. :)
The units required are mentioned in the indicator. The PMDG unit looks exactly like the unit in the manuals. Including the positioning of the units indication. If PMDG confirmed to you that you have to enter feet, then they've bugged up the system. The inicator clearly shows M and not F.
After enabling the HGS, the HUD display is very small. It takes me quite a while to adjust my position to make the HUD display fit within the HUD panel. Is there a faster way? Pressing the manual/auto button on the HGS just make it very small or nothing.
Unfortunately, the current MSFS version of the 737 doesn't include the Operational Manuals that came with earlier versions (FSX and PD3). So unless you have the older manuals you'll have to rely on videos like this or find the manuals online someplace.

I don't think so, EVS is only available in some BBJ and military versions but not even in the "common" BBJs, let alone in any passenger version of the plane.
No, HUDs are available for both sides to purchase. However a single HUD costs about half a million dollars and a second one does not add any operational benefit for the operator and thus would literally only add additional situational awareness for the second pilot and an enormous cost. For this reason I do not believe anyone actually has it fitted on both sides.

Playing DCS a lot of the time, I spend a great deal of time looking thru a HUD. It’s nice to see some of this tech being used in civil aviation. I don’t honestly know how much it is used in RL.
@@A330Driver Just count how much symbols on that little screen(one thousand?). Looks like the designers are paid by the number of symbols. Plus that stupid counterintuitive AOA indicator....

Indeed it is Johan, but once you got the grips with it, it becomes really second nature to use it.

PMDG confirmed, we need to enter feet for length and elevation and there is no way to change the units.I hope they will fix this in the future.

Yep, that's due to the licensing agreement with Boeing which doesn't allow it anymore.
Why do we do not get a Head Up Display at all planes. I only get them in some liveries and not in others, is there a setting for it in the FMC?
Most 737s don't have it in real life. It's in the equipment options.

You'd use the TDZ elevation as that is where you want your runway to be drawn.
I just installed the 737 last night and I don't recall seeing any manual/instructions folder, where can I find it ?

HUD is a brilliant Idea but designed by idiots, both Boeing and Airbus
