I didn't want to love the Laneige sleeping mask, but it is my ride or die. I wear it night and day. If you slather on a thicc layer at night, it will last all night and still be on in the morning!
I have tried putting an insanely thick layer on and it still totally sinks in to my lips, so that's interesting that it lasts for you. I still love it and use it all the time but if I wake up in the middle of the night I will totally have to reapply before I go back to sleep.
Ok so I’ll list my faves During the day: Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream - it’s glossy but not quite as thick as Vaseline Lip Therapy. It melts into a texture similar to Laneige if just a bit oilier. It stays in place but isn’t sticky. Over time it does actually heal your lips For Gentle Exfoliation: CARE:NEL Lip Mask - this is like if Laneige had petrolatum in it. I honestly prefer it to Laneige because it has a richer texture. My lips don’t feel super nourished once it’s off but while it’s on it feels great. This one is glossy and thick. Overnight: gel face moisturizer + Cocoa Butter Vaseline Lip Therapy - I totally get why you love it so much. It is THICCC. The Rare Beauty Liquid Lip Balms have a very similar texture to VLT. This is the ONLY THING that comes CLOSE to lasting all night on me. Since it’s mostly just occlusive I use a gel moisturizer underneath to give it something to lock in. When Actively Bleeding: Plain Vaseline - I don’t use this as a daily lip balm because it’s greasy, slides out of place, and doesn’t last very long. The one thing it excels at is protecting split lips. It sinks into place so it physically stops the bleeding and helps the cut heal faster. If I don’t use this on a split lip I’ll have it for over a week. With regular application of this it’ll heal in like 6 hours. I also have a variety of glosses I rotate through but these are my mainstays
The Pacifica Lavender Moon Lip Mask is my favorite right now. It lasts all night and feels so nice. I've been using the pink CosRx ceremide lip during the day, it's really nice too.
I decided to try the Pacifica to replace my Laneige. It's better. I do add a layer of Ceremedx lotion first, then the Pacifica. So happy to hear someone else likes it. 💞
I am such a fan of the Vasoline lip treatments! Affordable and they smell quite nice! I'd say one that really helped me are the Lano lip treatments. I prefer the multi balm/tint for when I want color, but their original ointment is perfection. I put that stuff everywhere (lips, under eyes, elbows, etc). Product does wonders!
I'm a fan of the lanolip treatment too. If you've ever had it in a sample small tube it's a pain to use because the product is so thick, but that isn't a problem with the full size. I love the strawberry untinted one. Off topic but the also make excellent hand lotion!
I have tried and love the Aquafor Lip Treatment that comes in a tube with a slanted tip applicator. It really saves the day when my lips are dry and chapped. Also, although not a lip treatment, per se, I love the Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oils because they really keep my lips hydrated, and they last a long time. They're really hard to find, though!
I just bought Nuxe Very Rose Lip Balm ❤️ The scent is heavenly (vanilla? caramel?), and it's super moisturizing! Its like a lighter, non-sticky version of the Laneige Lip Mask imo.
These need spf! Especially for vulnerable lips. 💋 My ideal would have glycerin for Hydration, urea for natural moisturizing factor and mild exfoliation, spf that doesn't stink or smell, and works well with lip color. For me its my spf cold sore chapstick (works to prevent them!) By Quantum Health Cold Stick + the urea glycerin balm/ serum at night for Hydration by Flexitol, lip balm. Way better than the agave mask was! Magic. Smooth lips, sun protection no cold sores! ❤
This winter I’ve been using and loving Bioderma lip stick balm. Because it comes in a stick form it’s the perfect product to take when I’m away from home since reapplication is easier with a lipstick type product. Overnight I use Aquaphor and always will.
Hey Abbey.. I love love the Lucas Papaw Ointment. It has been used in burn units.. When I wake up it is still in my lips and my lips are pillowy and supple. They also have a lip balm option.. i personally enjoy the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.. Vaseline moves around too much on my mouth.. it slips and slides
I agree. It’s really a good one. What I do is I first apply that on my lips before going to sleep then I seal it with a good amount of aquaphore. Try it & it’s fantastic. I always suffer with dry lips in winter so that’s one of my HG combo😊
The Naturium gloss are so good as the Summer Fridays. I really like the one from Rhode too. You should try the Avene Cold Cream Nutrition, it's for lips, and it lasts and nourishes. Part 2 should come soon
So many tubs of the Vaseline Lip Therapy have come into my life and have saved my lips time and time again it is impossible not to repurchase this product. On the worst of lovely Midwest winters, I will use the tiniest amount of the CeraVe healing ointment and then go over with the Vaseline LT to trap those ceramides close to my lips and the next day they are like new again. A favorite brand of mine is just about to release a lip product and the brand founder also has sensitive acne prone skin and none of those products have steered me wrong. If you are curious and want to try, Jelly Ko is outstanding so I am having high hopes for this new release! 🤞
Just a suggestion, the main reason I'd clicked on this video was to know about which one would be the most hydrating or moisturizing one but you barely discuss that, instead you focus on shine or lasting power which isn't really the main concern.
I have the Vaseline Lip Treatment and, in fact, need to buy another. I was not a fan of the very popular Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It just did not stay on my lips overnight and never felt a difference. My go-to overnight Lip Balm is Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm, and my daytime, besides the Vaseline one, is Blistex Medicated Lip Balm SPF 15. I have also tried many over the years, and these are the 3 I always come back to.
No offense but I do not understand the hype around the Laneige, I have purchased it many times and something in the product causes my lips to flake. For daytime, I love the Biossance squalane rose lip balm & the Nuxe lip moisturize stick. Over night, I use Lansinoh lanolin cream & Dr Paw Paw overnight lip mask (fragrance free). Love your reviews!
I'm a Vaseline girl too! Love that it's so affordable and effective. I tried the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin Lip Mask. It's nice, but I didn't think it was any better than Vaseline and much $$$!
The dermal therapy lip balm is only a few dollars and the best i've ever used, and i've tried a lot - many of which are in this video! I got recommended by my dermatologist when going through accutane as my lips kept splitting. It actually properly heals the lips and you don't feel dry when it's not on after a few uses. It uses urea, amongst other ingredients.l have gotten so many people onto it. Highly recommend!

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats the Vaseline lip therapy for me. It HAS to be the one in the small mini tub. Regular old Vaseline is not the same to me 😂
Sorry if this has been asked already! Have you tried the Tatcha lip mask? It's a little too thick and sticky for me. I do enjoy the Vanicream ointment, it's thinner and feels better, I use at bedtime or anytime my lips feel dry.
I swear by Portland Bee Balm. If you don’t like mint, they also have a yuzu scented one that’s delightful, as well as an unscented. It’s waxy, occlusive, and stays put! I have full lips and get dehydrated easily, so I have zero patience for fancy lip stuff that is thin and wipes away too easily.
Abbey, I’ve found a great winter balm( yes I have too many) it’s by Jack black, overnight honey mask / black tube/ healed my chapped lips in 1 day ! ❤❤
haha I love minty lip products 😅 edit: kinda funny how we have opposite preferences. the nudestix balm is one of my favorites, whereas I really struggle with the laneige sleeping mask. I know it’s a lot of people’s favorite, but I really dislike the fake/sweet scents (especially the chocolate, if I don’t apply it super carefully I look like I just messily ate a spoonful of nutela ugh). I can’t wear it overnight because I wake up with greasy lips, which I find disgusting, but I like it well enough during the day, it lasts pretty long for me.
I have to try that coco Vaseline. My favorite is Paula's Choice lip.and body butter different than the one you tried. And I also like city lips clear. They both are thick enough I wake up with it on! Which is my test!

The petal pout lip mask from flower beauty in starlight is my favorite. No idea why it hasn’t reached cult status. It’s thick and has a genius application, and smells divine. It can get a little messy but no fingers in a pot which I find gross. I also despise minty lip products they irritate and dry out my lips. It’s why I hated buxom gloss.
My current favorite is the Burt's Bees Overnight Lip Treatment, though I use it during the day. Several different flavors/scents, has jojoba oil, castor oil, ceramide NP.

I've come to the conclusion that if a lip product doesn't have petrolatum it's just not gonna do much for me. I do love that cocoa butter Vaseline! Have you tried the Vaseline lip balms in stick form, yet? They're not quite as occlusive, but still really nice.
I used the FAB lip treatment as a sleeping mask but it dried my lips out so bad after 4 days that I had a split down the middle. It hurt to open my mouth. Honestly it’s kind of a terrible product.
The best ever (and I have tried many) lip balm for me is Nuxe lip balm (potted balm, not the stick one). It last forever, it's the only one that instantly soothes and heals wind chapped lips..it's really thick and just amazing.
I'm not into minty scents or tingling in lip products either! You're definitely not the only one. I personally prefer no fragrance in my lip products.

Try Collistar Not Ordinary treatment butter mask. It's thick but not sticky, lasts longer than most other lip products and has a nice vanilla smell!
I love the Avene Cicalfate and cold cream lip therapy. I have incredibly dry lips and this saves me every time

I love a good lip treatment and I'm with you, Abbey, I do not like mint scented or flavored ones.They always seem to irritate my lips too. My "around the house" fave is plain old Cerave healing ointment!

you need to try the rohto mentholatum melty lip creams! my fav lip balm and bonus has spf in it! no taste either- i wear it even when theres no sun!
also i think you would loove the Jouer lip enhancer and Lanolips products. try them they are actually very healing and the Jouer one smells niice too. Lano has scented one and their scents are niiice

Petrolatum locks in moisture but provides very little, so if you have super dry lips I would use something else and then apply Vaseline on top
Great review, love the comparisons. I would really love you to review lip sunscreens. I have great sunscreens but need something for my lips. I love the laneige, multiple flavors. Definitely will look for the lip treatment you mentioned last.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats the Vaseline lip therapy for me. It HAS to be the one in the small mini tub. Regular old Vaseline is not the same to me 😂

Sorry if this has been asked already! Have you tried the Tatcha lip mask? It's a little too thick and sticky for me. I do enjoy the Vanicream ointment, it's thinner and feels better, I use at bedtime or anytime my lips feel dry.
I swear by Portland Bee Balm. If you don’t like mint, they also have a yuzu scented one that’s delightful, as well as an unscented. It’s waxy, occlusive, and stays put! I have full lips and get dehydrated easily, so I have zero patience for fancy lip stuff that is thin and wipes away too easily.

Lanrige lastd ON ME so much longer then vaseline. But i have them both - vaseline during the day and laneige for sleeping

edit: kinda funny how we have opposite preferences. the nudestix balm is one of my favorites, whereas I really struggle with the laneige sleeping mask. I know it’s a lot of people’s favorite, but I really dislike the fake/sweet scents (especially the chocolate, if I don’t apply it super carefully I look like I just messily ate a spoonful of nutela ugh). I can’t wear it overnight because I wake up with greasy lips, which I find disgusting, but I like it well enough during the day, it lasts pretty long for me.

I have to try that coco Vaseline. My favorite is Paula's Choice lip.and body butter different than the one you tried. And I also like city lips clear. They both are thick enough I wake up with it on! Which is my test!

The petal pout lip mask from flower beauty in starlight is my favorite. No idea why it hasn’t reached cult status. It’s thick and has a genius application, and smells divine. It can get a little messy but no fingers in a pot which I find gross. I also despise minty lip products they irritate and dry out my lips. It’s why I hated buxom gloss.

My current favorite is the Burt's Bees Overnight Lip Treatment, though I use it during the day. Several different flavors/scents, has jojoba oil, castor oil, ceramide NP.

I used the FAB lip treatment as a sleeping mask but it dried my lips out so bad after 4 days that I had a split down the middle. It hurt to open my mouth. Honestly it’s kind of a terrible product.

The best ever (and I have tried many) lip balm for me is Nuxe lip balm (potted balm, not the stick one). It last forever, it's the only one that instantly soothes and heals wind chapped lips..it's really thick and just amazing.
