That last thing that claudio said about not playing well when there isn't a high motivation stayed true with Leicester for years. I have been saying it constantly. It's like they feel that they are better than lower teams defacto and thus that a win is expected, but as a result they don't try as hard and are in cruise control due to a delusion. The reality is that you only win once you have won, never before.
Leicester have finally been humbled, and that's exactly why I think being relegated was the best thing for them. You even saw a little bit the first half of the season the players proving themselves and being almost untouchable, and as soon as they felt on top, aka that the league was practically already won (as everyone was saying), they started 'cruising' unjustifiably.
This is an interesting facet of sports psychology, and is something adopted by many players unfortunately, but not by the top mentalities, like CR7, for example.
You see it very clearly in Neymar, but in his case it is a bit justified. He can take anyone on on his day, but gets bored with low-level opponents, and waltzes around. He seems only to really turn on when there's an 'exciting' game. Not exactly the same phoenomenon, but clearly related.

Nigel Pearson deserves huge credit as well. He turned them into a winning team and they found the winning formula while he was in charge and all Leicester did was carry that on to next season. Ranieri was lucky that the team he had already found a way to win and when they were top for so long, they realised it could happen and they tried their best. I don't think it had a lot to do with Ranieri but mostly the team and Pearson for finding that winning formula that the team basically carried on the following season. I remember in May 2015 I said Leicester winning all those games to go from almost certain relegation to 14th to pull off the great escape, they will surely be in the top half of the premier league or maybe even the top 5 and when they were top in December, that's when I believed they could win it

For a start Carragher and Neville are complete idiots ,to say the players downed tools to get rid of Ranieri is the biggest load of rubbish I've ever heard And for anyone to even mention Khun Vichai,is disgraceful and totally disrespectful.Anyone who has watched the 2015 dvd ,when Pearson, who I will always credit with the title win ,kept us up,will know ,we didn't play crap for the first 29 games and then turn it on for the last 9.If Ranieri had signed Zieler,Hernandez,Kapustka,Musa,Mendy and Slimani, when he first came to the club,Simpson,Drinkwater,Albrighton or Mahrez And Okazaki would hardly have played and we wouldn't have won it.If people think that he is a legend ,that's up to them, but as far as I'm concerned,he was just the manager when we won the title and everyone is crediting him for Pearson's hard work.Quite ironic that the only player in that 2016 team he bought was Kante, who was player of the season.Im not bothered if I've got criticism for slagging Ranieri,I don't rate him,he just bought a lottery ticket ,and his numbers came up .A good manager would have kept us in the top 6 or 8 for the next 3 or 4 seasons afterwards and we wouldn't have had Puel, maybe not Rodgers, and may well have played more in the Champions League. If anyone employs him after this they deserve everything they get.Simon Jordan was right when he said he wouldn't employ him,and he got crucified. Why can't people see he's not a good manager !!! Personality wise ,you can't fail to love him, which I do, but sorry, got nothing good to say about him as a manager ! and if people think I'm an arse, then I'm not bothered !

@Andy geoff Charlie If you watch the DVD of the season Pearson kept us up,we didn't play rubbish for the first 29 games and turn it on for the last 9.We finished 14,and if we got the points we deserved, would have finished 11 th or 12 th.Ranieri didn't get us playing any better, part of the reason was none of the big teams really got going.Yes,Pearson hasn't managed Juventus,Roma,Valencia etc,but he also hasn't been sacked over a dozen times ,and totally dismantled a Title winning side .

@Andy geoff Charlie Yes,Ranieri has managed some top teams, but how many of them has he left, and not got sacked from. The season Pearson kept us up,wasn't luck.We played well most of that season, and deserved another 4 or 5 points, and could have finished 11th or 12th.Ranieri didn't make us play better,we carried on from how Pearson got us to play.Look what happened the season after, when he signed 5 or 6 players. If he was good enough to win us the Title, then he should have been good enough to keep us up there for 2 or 3 seasons after.I just wonder how many Leicester fans we would have him back now - 0 !
