My drop shot story during a hot Florida summertime one day tournament. The one time I was hoping not to be in the first flight and sure enough I was in the first flight. My fishing partner and I ran about 3 miles and shut down, waiting for the other flights of boats to go. I then ran back towards a concrete bridge that were supported by a total of 24 concrete pillars. The bridge was about a 1/4 mile away from the tournament flight area. We started fishing with a drop shot rig around each and every one of the concrete pillars. We went up and down under that bridge for 7.6 hours. My partner and I finished in 3rd place. We had fun catching fish, staying almost all the time out of the hot sun, and only burned about 2 gallons of fuel that day.
Lake Hopatcong right now, tough as it gets. Meet me there and take the ultimate test. 12 pounds is all it takes to be in the money. Lot of guys with dry livewells. Let’s go!
Killer advice ike! I have applied your advice to my bass fishin game for about 2 yrs now and I've gotta say without a doubt that your advice has definitely helped hone my angling skills. I've fish all my life but I feel like I've really come into my own the past couple of years and I appreciate your help man!
Thanks Mike for the update on summer Bass always like your advise ever since I went to bassmaster university in beech grove Indiana and listened and took notes you’re the man
Well I live on Tennessee river Florence Alabama , an few days ago on pickwick it was 91 surface temp and on Wilson it was 88 other day , it’s tough down here however what I learned when current flows late in the afternoon they will bite , another way we do it go about 1am an cover water with spinnerbaits an last few weeks iv had good nights an morning.
Hi. Ike. I live in Minnesota. I know where you’re at. You also live amongst natural lakes. Give more content on that. Bass guys are talking about big reservoirs down south. I wanna hear more things about natural Lakes. Seth Fieder. Does. But I wanna hear some from you. Too. I love hearing what all you guys say. Thank you 🙏
This video is packed with good stuff and just in time for this nasty heat wave in the Northeast! You guys try Ike's tips... me, I'm staying in the A/C til next week. 😉
Man when the thermocline sets up is probably my favorite time of year to fish outside of the spring time... thats when the grass mats are probably at there best. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Oh man!! Here’s something no one talks about and it might be the best lure in anybody’s boat the in any condition! Deep, current, holes in the thick cover, not only catches big big bass but walleye pike perch bluegill wow how bout a number 1 mepps spinner!!! Hands down top 3 lure in any condition, but please don’t listen to me just leave all the fish to me!!!
I picked up the 7’9” Jordan Lee rod and I think I’ve put about 50 fish on it and I think I’ve literally only lost like 3 fish it’s crazy! Also not to mention the current from those pleasure boaters fishing the mudline that they create is awesome too!
A weightless worm with good action and 4/0 hook works good, but you have a very sensitive rod and sense of touch. They are inactive from the heat, so a single cast can take minutes to retrieve. The fast you work the worm, the less luck you’ll have.
If I could catch 'em on a spinnerbait year round, then that would be all that I would throw. There is nothing like that spinnerbait bite!! I'm going to have to pick up some of them Molix spinnerbaits....
Fish those shade lines and matt edges . I almost exclusively use 10inch culprits and I always catch fish. Red shad later in the evening tequila sunrise in the shade lines seems to work best. Just fish them slow they come running out for it.
Mike, im in PA and the Delaware river is my main fishery. The water is SUPER low, and i have a tournament coming up soon in the Bristol area, what would you suggest my approach be? I like the flipping option. Anything else you would suggest? Love the content dude! Thanks for all the great info!
Yeah too many mosquitos here in Arkansas for all that lol they'll bite through long sleeves and any part of your face/neck that isn't covered. Not trying to fish in a bee suit lol

Awesome video!! Love that Creature Hawg, how are you getting orange claw tips? Dye pens don’t do that.
Dye pens and dye liquid!
Good advice thanks 👊🏻🇺🇸🎣
I am all in on Berkely baits. They produce 90% of my fish.
Love all Yur content
Spinners spoon ( Mepps Black fury or Aglia😁 ) can be very effective in current if you don't like Spinnerbait like me lolllll ;-)
If I could catch 'em on a spinnerbait year round, then that would be all that I would throw. There is nothing like that spinnerbait bite!! I'm going to have to pick up some of them Molix spinnerbaits....
LOVE a spinnerbait bite!!!
Thanks for making these videos. I hope your getting plenty of fun time with the fam after retirement
Mike, are you using chartreuse dye on the African special worm?
Not always deeper.....shallower water on some lakes has the O2 that holds them super shallow. Now shade, and cover, yes. Gotta show down too.
In a reservoir that is putting out water more than its receiving, where is better to fish ,by the dam or by river?
❤great video
So for bank fishermen mabe don't be shy to take them shoes off and walk in the water for big shaded bass😊✌️

Oh, & Never Give Up either...
My solution, a cold beer, and fish at night.
