Happy Sunday! Let me know if you’re re-setting & re-organizing your closet for summer! xx
My closet is big enough and my wardrobe is small enough that I'm not forced to declutter. But like you, I've found a few things don't fit well anymore because of my exercise routine. My shoulders and back are broader, and my biceps are bigger around, so a lot of top layers feel too snug. Time to move those things on, and consider carefully if that creates gaps that I'd like to fill with new (or new-to-me) pieces. Thanks for the tips.
I've been in the process of mostly decluttering, so I think this might be a wonderful add to that process.
You have no idea how helpful you have been for me. I lost 90 lbs over the past year. After getting rid of my "fat" clothes... I had practically nothing left. I still don't have much, but you have inspired me to buy investment pieces. My 3 words are sporty, casual, and fun. It's a new system for me, because fat me was not sporty! The 3 words idea came from you!!🎉 Thank you from this random internet stranger. You've changed my life through my wardrobe!❤
Great video. I just adjusted my wardrobe from spring to summer, and my cat promptly made a nest in a pile of sweaters. I only turned my back for about a minute.
😻😹
The cat was thinking: finally!!😁😁😁
@@Sorana44😂
"Sometimes I dont know how I have hair on my head" very good question!!!😂😂😂
I m slowly declutterring. Your reminder of filling the gaps helps me not keep buying the same thing over and over. Thank you. ❤
I love your honesty about the hair bunnies in your closet cause I shed a lot too! And about swelling in the heat. Yeah. Same.
Haha I’m always vacuuming up hair it feels like 😅
I live in the American South, where it is pretty much warm for 10 months of the year. So, the only switch for me is sweaters, which I keep on a shelf. But, I love this idea of doing a seasonal refresh.
The switching so the clothes can be seen is so real! I will Not wear it if it’s hidden. ❤
I do this twice a year, always declutterring at the same time.❤
My goal for this summer is to wear more dresses/skirts as well! As a thick thigh girl, I've always strayed from shorts and skirts but I'm ready to try out some flowy and midi dresses. The challenge for me is styling them in more than two ways to justify my purchases because I'm a jeans and tee girl at heart! Here's to trying new outfits!
I’m not a huge skirt/dress person but as a fellow thick thigh girl, bike shorts are the best!
I’d love a video on how you choose dresses and style them. I have a similar style to you, although no oversized pieces, and I’d love to wear more dresses but just can’t figure out style and styling!
omg i thought i was the only person whose fingers get hot and swell in the summertime!!! it drives me nuts! Hearing you say this makes me feel better. ha. Ok, loved this closet revamp. feels good to get things switched out so you don't have to look at them for a while, and you can SEE everything you need/love. awesome.🤩🤩
Same here, I've noticed it's harder to get my rings off. Some almost got stuck on my finger. My plan is to get a couple of bigger rings just for Summer
Dresses & skirts. Love a capsule wardrobe switchover. Time to welcome in a new season!
I love the seasonal switchovers. I do two pick ones, fall and spring, and in summer i just have a tucked away pile i put the too hot things into as the season gets hotter. If the pile gets too big, then i will put away in my storage boxes.
Inspiring! And I love the new bag.
Yayyyyyy Yayyyyyy Another Wonderful Video By Christina and you don't even know that how much I am loving this vlog🥹♥️♥️♥️
I'm starting to realize that while our style keywords are different, the kinds of clothing we like are pretty similar. I'm definitely starting to feel more comfortable in t-shirts for the majority of the year (winter is an obvious exception), but I have a few select pieces that are a bit more fancy or feminine to round out my capsule collection. Needless to say that this video gave me lots of inspiration! 😊❤❤
I switched to summer wardrobe approximately 3 weeks ago. And it does look very similar to the spring/winter one as I wear a lot of things all year round (t-shirts, shirts, hoodies). Well, I don't wear hoodies or sweatshirts often during summer, but I keep them close for rainy/colder days
I think you are great and inspiring. Even though our styles are completely different, I am still drawn to your advise. I am never satisfied with my wardrobe and keep working towards one I am happy with.
I have to say, this was just the video I needed today. The closet was looking pretty stuffed and I realized I have a lot of winter/transitional pieces that could go somewhere else. I would guess that your Toronto weather is at least a little bit like our Minnesota weather. You always have a few sweaters hanging in the closet year round. Clearing them out made a lot more room for spring/summer shirts. Thanks for all of the tips!!
I've never had to organize and switch around my closet as much as in the past almost 2 hours after having a baby lol. I'm so thankful for certain pieces to still fit. I will say it has really allowed me to find my own unique style through thrifting A LOT. I noticed (bc thrifting is much less expensive) I was gravitating towards a lot of colors I probably wouldn't have bought in a store brand new at full price. I am also gravitating towards investing in MORE classic pieces that I know have some wiggle room in size. Just a lil inspo for anyone going through a change in their size and style:)
I have such a strange situation with my clothes. I have:
1. Summer corporate
2. Summer casual
3. Winter corporate
4. Winter casual
5. Summer sports/dog walking
6. Winter sports/dog walking
I also have 2 types of personal style. One is bold colours, prints and chunky jewellery. The other is more goth/edgy. I like them both so can't choose only one 😅
As you can imagine I have lots of clothes 🫣
I do this twice a year in our climate. It has really helped me to edit and be more organized. As I’m just doing this today I’ll try your system of everything out and clean the shelves and vacuum the carpet too. I know I have a lot to donate, wish selling wasn’t such a pain, feel like it used to be better.
I have a large closet but because the doors aren't as wide, I have these what I call "alcoves" on either side that are difficult to get to so I use those to store my off season items. I used to do a big changeout before when I used storage bins, but now I do it gradually as the season changes. I also do what I call "laundry strike" where I don't wash clothes until I've worn most of what I have which makes the shift a lot easier. When I wash them, I just put them away to the other section of the closet. The advantages of having a large laundry room too.
I've always rotated my closet for seasons. I grew up in Michigan, where there used to be seasons 😳. Being a Coloradan for the last 30 years, though, oof! You can have all four seasons in one day here 🤦🏾♀️🤪
Yess I so needed this. I have a small closet that I need to organize. ❤ Thank you.
Lovely, I am doing the switch as well. I wanna get some of those boxes for my shoes too, I do remember you saying they weren't easy to put together but they seem really worth it. Excited for the new shorts coming up! Have a great day.
Lovely video. Very nice to watch how you go about it. Looks like a well organized system!❤ Love it
Good inspiration! I need to steam or iron in advance so more clothes actually get worn
Im switching out my winter/early spring clothes to my warmer weather clothing this week. I'm a clothing maximalist, but i did manage to declutter 8 pairs of jeans so far. When i find a pair of jeans i love, i tend to buy multiples in different washes and lengths (regular and tall) and put some aside for when my current set becomes worn. I do have the room to store them, though. But, in general, i have too much of every type of clothing.
Enjoyed this video, Christina! ❤
In the North of England, we are still waiting for summer to arrive.........it is slightly warmer, so having done an interim sort , I do need to do another sort and move out some mid weight knitwear . I also need to buy a couple of long sleeve t shirts ( I wear these alot in summer).
as always very instructive and fun too
I love the 550!
I tried a pair at a vintage store after you recommended them in a past video and they are now my fave pair of denims! ❤
Just switched out our mudroom too! Out with the chore coats, in with the life jackets 😂
Lol I hear you, we went from 40s to 80s (F- slightly above freezing to low level HOT) in less than 10 days. I don't even do a spring reset lol, I just bring my summer stuff back out & slowly put coats & the less practical scarves & boots into the closet, a few get fully put away til October but with camping season here, lol you need a winter coat, heavy boots, gloves, hats & long johns in the mountains for overnights all summer long anyway... Every year I rely on dresses more & more, they're just so easy & usually look really nice with very little effort
Not me crying into my winter ❄️
Great ideas. I keep putting this off as it’s has been chilly but now it’s warm 😅
I need to do this sometime this week. I have unfortunately grown out of most my summer clothes and need to buy some staples
feedback: great video!
Excited to watch. I just filmed my summer closet makeover and will be getting it up soon - it was such a taxing project. I definitely have too much stuff and am doing my best to declutter and make it more edited. I was inspired by your video with Alison Bornstein to find my personal style (so thing I’ve been thinking about for the last year!)
lol ive been loving your content recently! new subscriber here!
really love your videos !
I‘m not switching over my closet, I basically have everything I own in one space. I fell like packing things away limits me and I wear many of my things all year around anyway 🤷🏼♀️
But I also have a relatively small closet that I declutter and edit regularly, so everything fits just fine 😊
While I'm out here in Holland going from spring to winter outfit reset 😅
I’m in the SE USA where we have two seasons - hot and less hot. I’d just be putting away my couple sweaters every year if I did this.
I just did this over the weekend also! I have a large wardrobe, so it was a bit of a process. I am looking forward to wearing some vintage Victorian era items mixed with some newer stuff. Also, I recently got a pair of Trippen shoes from The RealReal that I will be wearing instead of sandals. For some reason, I hate sandals!
❤it.. find these videos so calming to watch 😊
Me too!
The shoes though is a good tip, even though I only have like eight pairs of shoes, I get into funks and only wear one pair all season long. So maybe if they were more visual, I would pull out more pairs
Inspired to clean out my closet today… also, what jeans are you wearing in the video? They are great!
Yay! Enjoy! Levi’s balloon xl jeans!
1:33 why is this exactly what I went through yesterday 😅 I have exactly 2 denim shorts but quite soon I will have 0 because neither will zip up. Which is weird because I don't feel like my body looks any different from last year. Hormones and shifting fat distribution be wildin'
I wonder if I just have a lot less clothing than most other women my age… 😂 My closet is the same size of yours, has all seasons represented and isn’t full. The only “gap” I can identify, at the moment, is 1 or 2 fitted tank tops for layering.
Love this video :)
I’m going to take out my light knitwear and strap dresses 😍💖 one gap I need to feel is a new pair of sandals/ summer shoes, my only pairs hold for five years and sadly had to say goodbye 🥲
Its not even that hot in Ontario. Its been rain/sunshine mix the whole time.
I love switching out my wardrobe, always find stuff to declutter and make a wish list of any gaps 👍🏼
I wish I could switch to my summer wardrobe but it’s currently 14 to 16 degrees celcius in The Netherlands and summer is nowhere in sight 😢 sticking to cashmere cardigans for now.
We are also trying to find the summer in the UK…
Cristina, where do you sell your clothes, eg Facebook marketplace or Depop. I live in Toronto and don’t know how to go about shipping the items I sell. Any advice helps.
I do not know how you are able to have only those clothes out for everyday. I live in the Caribbean so it is VERY hot here. But I still have a corporate job that requires corporate clothing. And also clothing that is more like your summer wardrobe to go out. Having a capsule wardrobe here is very difficult for this reason.
love ya,too
It’s still cold and raining here in the U.K. and all my summer clothes I switched into my wardrobe have so far still gone unworn and I’m pulling my jumpers back out 😭
How many totes do you keep to store off-season items? (I have too many and need to downsize!)
Love your tryzub-chain 💛💙
And tryzub tattoo 🎉
I see Ukrainian trident!
My problem is that I have nowhere to put my seasonal wardrobe. My closet is so full because of this!
Did you wear that red cardigan in the winter / spring? I saw you put it away for the season and I am curious to know if Alison's tips on how to style it have helped? I have a similar one from Sezane that on my "to sell" pile
Hi! Thank you for the video. May I ask what the brand of your vacuum cleaner is? I am currently hunting for a good one which is strong and perfect for the cleaning of small spaces. Yours seems to be an effective one. 🤓💓
positive comment for the algorithm
Where do you store the big blue tubs?
In our storage locker!
What jeans are you wearing in the beginning )
38 to 40c where I am. At this point, I can only handle a swim sarong. Too hot for anything 😅
What steamer do you have ?
It’s from sloane - it’s good but I wish it was transparent so you can see how much water is left
Could you share where those shorts are from (the black dress up/down ones)?
Everlane easy short!
@@Christinamychas is the black strapless dress Everlane also?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do you like to hang your t-shirts, or only do so because of small closet space?
What is that blue button down you try on at 8:18? 😍😍
❤😊
Hello. Where do you going to sell your clothes?
Usually Poshmark!
What the hell share the wealth girlfriend. It's still only hitting 20° here if that and that's a good day! Send your nice weather from Toronto to Edmonton. Thank you very much
Right?? Also in Edmonton here. I have worn shorts once so far and ended up feeling chilly in my shorts. Late getting the garden in this year due to the cold, rainy weather. We need heat over here now!!
This is excately what I do every season. At the moment my Autumn clothing is going to be put away tomorrow and my winter put in as it's very cold here now. Then in September I reverse for spring then summer... great video.
Ok, I have to know-what is the white tank you are wearing in this video? I love it!
I would also like to know!
I always think my closet is getting out of control, but then you do a rotation video.. and I think to myself, I’m okay because I have nothing to rotate, everything I own is out all the time.
Great reminder to clean my wardrobe storage a bit ❤Thank you, Christina❤️ Where I live now, we rather have two seasons warm and cold as I defined them, but nevertheless, I like to keep in touch with my closet and review it every month for some small rotations 🤗 Just found a pair of pants that I will bring to my seamstress this week🙌🏻
lol this short spring is so real. In Florida and we jumped right from winter to I’m Trying to Kill You weather
That skirt look stunning on you! Thanks for sharing, I love your style and layering but I live in a furnace island always hot 😁😁😁so this has been very helpful
What are the jeans you are wearing in this video?
Levi’s balloon xl jeans!
Ho un piccolo armadio e nel corso degli anni sono riuscita a non fare piu il cambio armadio.
Cosi bello vedere tutto cio che ho tutto l'anno e comodo in momenti come ora che c'è tempo piovoso come in autunno!
I won't watch any of these if they don't declutter first. Most definitely have more than they need and/or wear.
