I'm glad you're still with us Jay. Your channel is one that I watch all the time, and I appreciate you and the whole team that makes this happen. Thanks!
@@NulJern I'm guessing you've never been demotivated before, maybe from a hard family situation or something out of your control that's having a rough effect on your life. I mean, it's alright to be a robot, but you could at least say it.
Yea i agree w few million subscribers...your telling ALOT OF people...i get it i have it as well..but 90% people in my experience always ask me "whats it feel like!??" (ADHD)...🤷 I feel like saying "its aggravating just like people that ask the ? Your asking me!" 🤣✌️
Before the hiatus, I remember you ended an RTFM show talking about ADHD being a super power, that had a profound positive affect on my perspective on my condition and the way I approach life. I view our bursting curiosity as a plus, and the inability to finish things as a minor negative. Rather be in that situation than not start something at all. Thank you for that, and all that you do.
'I have plans for this area' is my middle name. I have been working on finishing my home office since we got the house in 2018, same with other areas of our house. Only the areas my husband is in charge of are completed. I am either not satisfied and start anew or I have new ideas in the middle of doing something and rearrange everything again. My slightly compulsive tendencies definitely do not mix well with ADHD brain. It's a miracle I finish work assignments on time; then again, that's not the same as doing something without a schedule for me.
0:35 - Have ADHD. Can confirm. I wasn't diagnosed as a child because I wasn't hyperactive, and hyperactivity was required for a diagnosis in the 80s. By the time they figured out ADHD is a spectrum disorder, I had already been kicked out of the Naval Academy. I can hyper-fixate on something that interests me or on a project I'm working on to the point that I literally forget to eat all day, or I can bounce from project to project like Tigger because I've come to a point where I need another tool and I never get that tool.
I had to drop out of post secondary because of mine too. Got my diagnosis less than a year after that at 30 years old and now I’m killing it at my new job on the new meds. Hope it all looks up for you, friend! 💜
I dropped out of high school because of my ADHD, finished it 3 years later, dropped out of Uni in the final year, went back 5 years later, dripped out again. Never held a job for longer than a year because I can't maintain focus or finish a task before I move on to the next one. ADHD gets trivialised in our society, but for those that have it, it can be absolute hell
As someone with ADHD too I can relate to SO MUCH of what you're saying. I'm glad you recovered from the surgery Jay. Looking forward to more of your videos c:
I have adhd and I relate to starting projects and not finishing them. There are two keys to bettering it: 1) Must find a way to keep the project “novel.” That means it to stay sounding like “fun.” For me, I do this by marking progress and planning the next steps. 2) Must find something like a notebook/notes app/notion/etc that you will refer to frequently and list everything you need to do & want to do. That way everything will stay on your mind, track what needs doing, and remind you what you wanted to do. This keeps everything on track and has done me wonders. Maybe they’ll work for you. It’s HARD. But the most important thing is to be kind to yourself 😊❤ GL!
I have a hard time with key 2. I start out tracking things great at first, and then the notebook just becomes part of my environment and suddenly it doesn't exist (even though it's right in front of my face) And then the tracking itself becomes tedious and no longer gives dopamine so the whole thing gets left in the past :S
@@void-stare “tracking” doesn’t work for me either. The first time I break a streak the whole tracker may as well go in the trash- I’ll just avoid it. This is more like a “menu”. It is an offering of ideas/tasks/whatever you need and not something you’re accountable to. How to ADHD has a more in depth video on the concept- she refers to it as a “dopamenu.” Mine is like… Things I need to do, Places I need to go (errands), Projects I want to complete, etc, so when I feel like going somewhere, or working on something I can do so productively.
Those things can indeed help many AD(H)D sufferers... but they don't help everyone. Finding out what works *for you* is crucial. Luckily, Jay is pretty good at figuring out complex problems in buggy "equipment"... =:o}
Man, I feel you on this. I had a cholycystectomy back in 2015, and it was a rough recovery. Nowadays, my ADHD really affects my work. I get so overwhelmed, and can't keep track of projects, and then on my TH-cam side, I more or less abandoned my channel because I just couldn't focus long enough to make or do anything. ADHD meds have been awful. Adderall and Vyvanse make me feel like i'm going to have a heart attack, and methlphenidate doesn't really seem to do much.
As someone who got gallbladder issues 2 years ago I can fully relate what pain you had to withstand before surgery. I was recovering for 3 weeks so you handled it pretty well. I am looking forward to new projects.
Psychological stress creates a whole slew of physical and mental issues to go along with it. You have an amazing team you've built Jay - don't hesitate to take a step back and lean on them for a period of time to decompress and take care of yourself. Your viewers support you. We'll be here to enjoy your content for many years to come!
I wish you good health and happiness, Jay. There's a surprising amount of people that suffer from this condition. Life can be quite a challenge, and dealing with ADHD doesn't help.
I am of the highly opinionated opinion that most of the time ADD/ADHD doesn't exist, isn't real, and is a made up disorder to cover up the unnatural antihuman institution of coerced public school that is designed to create worker/consumer drones, coupled with being another money making scheme for big pharma that is right now focusing on trannies when in my generation it was depression and ADD to sell pills....but, if you fall asleep from taking Adderall you may need to keep that in mind. It was explained to me as real ADD is basically like you have a smaller stage, and you can only keep a smaller number of actors on that stage at any given time. So it's not so much being distractible as being hyper focused.
@@glmchn This. It's really a problem with our school system ultimately and it's been a way for the drug companies to keep shilling their shit to sheep, much the same way as gluten intolerance may be a real thing but when I've got a third of my entire f'ing reservation list requesting gluten free you know full well most of these people have no gluten intolerance. Moreover amphetamines and methylphenidate are hard drugs. They're on the same plane as coke and crystal meth. In fact they actually do prescribe methamphetamine HCl tablets to children as young as 6 in America. I find it funny how nobody made a big deal about this when drugs were destroying my generation growing up, they threw Vicodin, Adderall, Xanax, and Zoloft at us for any little thing so you basically needed to be an adamant drug geek to survive without taking more damage than necessary, and yet it's only the tranny thing these days. Literally the exact same thing they're doing with transexualism right now is precisely what they did back in the 1990s with these hardcore drugs like Adderall. It's massively overprescribed and overdiagnosed and frankly when you do these hard drugs it'll make you much weaker as a person and a thinker because you start using it as a crutch, and that lack of determined, willful focus will make it harder to concentrate later. It's similar to how some people with certain sleep disorders and other problems are actually really well adapted to other situations, it's just that 90-95% of the entire population is destined for drone work/mindless consumers so they're shoved through this trash education system in the States. Really the entire way we do schooling in the US is so unnatural and it's the origin of most of our social problems when you count advertising/media and culture of money worship along with it that's probably 98% of everything wrong with America right there. I cannot describe to you the level of disdain I feel for these drug companies that were putting 6 year old children on methamphetamine. Go look it up. It's called Desoxyn. And those same type of drugs used to be prescribed for narcolepsy and weight loss as things like Benzedrine. "Why did they rebrand and stop doing it for that?" It's because of the way the generics/branding works that basically they come up with some wildly overpriced drug that's more or less the exact same thing as a former name, but they can maintain market hold over it. They do these 10-20 year cycles. Venlafaxine is a HORRIBLE drug and they created I think it was called norvenlafaxine or something like that, it's basiclaly the same drug as Effexor but they keep rebranding their crap as to keep making money. Literally every wrong thing with American society can be summed up as anti-intellectualism and softcore nihilism aka postmodernism meets "who makes the money though?" Follow the money trail you usually have your answer why a thing sucks, because somebody is getting rich off it and so they are making thing X suck and hurt children because they're making money off things being that way somehow. As an aside, this is why Elon Musk lies about things like population all the time, we're over carrying capacity, it's because he's a hardcore globalist elite Capitalist who needs an everexpanding resource base of cheap/slave workers and cheap raw materials. When you stop expanding that the ponzi scheme implodes. That is why you're always going to have huge waves of immigration, because it's cheap labour and easier to simply bring in third world worker than wait 20 years for people to make more workers, it all goes back into the economic and ideological framework of the system and that's why they've pathologized normal behavior like the way this society deliberately targets strong, outgoing young boys to either feminize them, hook them on hard drugs, call them having a disorder etc. because they are the most likely group to challenge and disrupt the money making scheme of the wealthy and their toxic false doctrine of globalist Capitalism.
Glad you're still with us, Jay. You taught me so much stuff about computers over the last few years. And me on the other hand taught my kids how to build a pc from scratch. Hopefully this channel continues to exist for years to come. ☺️
My sister, mom, and grandfather all had gall bladder problems that ended with removals. Going through the symptoms/attacks constantly was a huge toll on them. Glad your surgery went well and you’re feeling better!
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Every time I am getting frustrated with my lack of progress I start treating myself like a dear friend; with compassion, understanding, and support. I love your content and how you work. Keep it up!
Welcome to the gall free club Jay. I remember how terribly, terribly sick I felt regularly before I was disgnosed and had surgery. Just lying on the bathroom floor shaking and retching. It took a long time for me to get the correct diagnosis because the most common tests kept coming back negative. It wasn't until I got an ultrasound, revealing the gallstones and swollen gall bladder that the nightmare started to end. Glad you are getting better.
Good luck finding the things that help you understand and manage your ADHD and continue to put out such sincere and genuine content. Been watching your content for years and your own transparency about what you go through has encouraged me to deal with my own ADHD and challenges. Thank you.
The older I get the more I realize how much of a struggle it is to do anything consistently with ADHD. Consistently inconsistent, every day of my life.
This makes me feel better that someone as cool as you who's content I love has a lot of similar problems to me. It reminds me that I can still do great things even though I have ADHD.
I feel ya Jay, im a production manager and i am always bouncing around started or half finished products. Somedays i just have to have a mental health day to slow my mind down enough to start the game all over again.
@Windless Flame Somehow, it feels like most of the people on the planet who have ADHD are in the US lol Most of my friends from the US have been diagnosed with some form of ADHD. but at home, i can't think of anyone around me who has. It seems to be a very tightly geographically restricted condition. Regardless, now more than ever it's so important to take time to manage our own stress and work levels.
@@ledoynier3694 I think it's more that the USA is ahead of the game in figuring out mental and neurological conditions generally, and thus being able to diagnose them within its own population. There's a reason why the US-produce "DSM" series of manuals are pretty much the global standard for defining and diagnosing these things: The USA has more psychologists than any other country on Earth, plus a bountiful supply of students who will volunteer for psych/neuro studies, to earn extra cash to help get them through college! =:o}
@Windless Flame you keep saying that attention can be developed over time through practice and effort, what exactly is that secret practice that develops attention control?
glad to see you doing better. i had the same issue with my gallbladder and i almost died because it totally ruptured. my eyes and skin were telling yellow but thank God for the great doctors and surgeons who saved me. you're very strong for making a quick turnaround and going back to work when you didn't need to.
Literally 4 days just got my gallbladder removed, we think it was what started my paracorditis in my heart due to a possible infection. Stay strong jay we got this!
I feel it bro, I've dealt with it all my life. It's harder than ever to stay on top of important stuff in today's society. Especially people who have a harder time with their mental health.
Just got diagnosed this spring at 28. Yes, I can relate so much. The garage is full of barely-started projects. And my distractability and hopping back and forth prevents me from consistently doing healthy habits like eating well or exercising. So I barely finish anything I start, but also have the unstoppable urge to get up and do SOMETHING, and the end result is nothing gets done but I’m still exhausted all the time. Anyway, thanks for talking about it Jay, I can definitely relate
@@_Windless_Flame this is a stigma that is harmful and perpetuated by those who do not have the disorder and therefore cannot understand what it is like. It is a real disorder. It is not laziness or a lack of discipline. The brain is an organ too, and can have issues just like other organs. You would not tell a person with a heart disease that they just need to exercise harder to strengthen their heart. Yes, the mind is a powerful thing. And yes, even with ADHD it can be trained to be better. That is what I am working on. But those with ADHD start at a disadvantage. I’m not looking for pity or excuses. But it is helpful to share our experiences and hear from others too, especially people we respect like Jay. Stop degrading yourself by offering unsolicited and ill-informed opinions as fact. I appreciate you trying to help, but that advice will do more harm than good. Those psychologists are helping me to live a life that is much less miserable than it was before I got diagnosed and tried to do all the things you mentioned on my own.
As someone with ADD too. I completely understand, yes it's a real pain. I just see it as a qwirk of you and your channel. I've still learnt more especially in the watercooling front from you than anyone else. Hell I wouldn't be building a full custom loop if it wasn't for you. Your channel has been a very beneficial and educational channel for myself and many others no doubt.
I have a sister who suffers from ADHD. It was a pain in the backside growing up around her. But I love her anyway. And I understand Gallbladder issues firsthand, mine had to be removed in the latter half of March for similar reasons as yours, so I feel for you. I am glad you pulled thru; we would hate to lose one of our main tech influencers on TH-cam due to medical issues. Thank you for all you do.
Jay, A lot of people will say “sorry to hear that”, or even worse, “I know how it feels” because that’s what society has told us to say to help someone feel better. In this case though I can tell you that I know exactly how you feel, because I’ve had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gall bladder surgery) after being in severe pain for weeks and being in the ER twice in a weeks time. I can’t say I know what ADHD feels like, but I’ve also dealt (and continue to deal) with my fair share of severe anxiety, PTSD and well controlled depression, and so from a mental health angle I can also empathize with you. Just know that you don’t owe anyone anything. You should always put yourself first, and those who really care about you aren’t going to rage about you not finishing a project or something adenine like that. As I said, remember you are not alone, and there are others who feel similar things to what you feel, and this is not abnormal. I used to work as a medic and though I’m no psychologist i spent a lot of time holding hands and listening to my patients. So if you ever just wanna vent to someone who you don’t know who also won’t judge you, feel free to get in touch. All the best brother.
My Father had Gallstones and had to have his gall bladder removed and he looked like Homer Simpson, so I now realise how bad he had been. I wish you a full recovery and so pleased that they found the issue and fixed you. I have been following your channel for many many years, whilst you were still in your home making the videos. Wishing you and the team all the best for the future and it is fantastic that you are feeling more motivated.
I like your channel for what you do, not how you do it. Your publishing cycle is simply interesting. You have your own rhythm. I didn't know that part of it was due to health problems.
I first want to say thank you for struggling through everything because it was worth it to many people, and also you look much healthier now. I have never been diagnosed with ADHD myself, but all of the symptoms are there and I definitely understand the struggles in just everyday life let alone when it comes to performing normally in a job/career. Keep up the good work because even if it is a struggle it is worth it.
Got diagnosed with ADHD at 30 years old (two years ago). Changed my life. I was struggling at work because I was the IT manager and couldn't get my shit together. Totally turned it around after getting medicated. Good to see you back on your feet! My wife just got her gallbladder removed and its not a fun recovery.
Man Jay glad your're still with us to countinue our education in PC's & Tech issues. Hang in their brother and best wishes for a fast / total recovery.
I have ADHD, and also had emergency gallbladder surgery last year. I know what you've been through...worst pain in your life exacerbated by mental health challenges. Much love you, Jay. Hang in there and do things your way so you can be happy!
Jay - I can totally empathize with the ADHD. I've never been officially diagnosed but I could probably compete with you for "King of Starting" but not finishing projects! :) As a senior manager at my company I finally had to come to terms with it and for me, it was learning to let my team do more of the work and let me just focus on what I'm good at. We had a huge turnaround and great success once we did this, and my life is a lot better (and the same goes for my team members!) So instead of just saying keep at it because you're doing a great job in spite of it - which is totally true - I'd humbly suggest that at some point, maybe consider giving some of these projects over to the guys and just let them do it. You come up with the vision, but maybe let them come up with the process. Maybe you're doing this already - obviously we don't know much about what happens day-to-day at JTC - but if not, maybe keep doing some of these "first person" VLOG-style vids for a while so that the guys have more time to execute on some of the other stuff? The change in pace with the video style is pretty cool to be honest - I like it! Regardless, you *are* doing a great job and don't get too down on yourself! You're one of the few long-term YT teams that just keeps pumping out relevant and useful tech content in a very entertaining way, and your desire to produce quality content clearly comes across. Just take care of yourself so that we can continue to learn and have fun along with you guys!
Not finishing projects or losing motivation to do them isn't adhd, that's just being human, we aren't robots albeit that seems to be thing for some reason now which is rather sad.
Im coming to terms with mine(diagnosed) and its been a struggle making a career change (it/design). videos like this help me a ton cause i see that [people can find success somehow while they manage it. Anyone know good jobs for sdhd havers? haha
Dude I discovered I have ADHD while in my 40s, going through a serious burnout. Not nice but therapy (rest, in my case) and drugs do work wonders for you. Also accepting the fact that you're going to lose all your bits, screwdrivers, pliers etc. and ending up paying the ADHD tax by buying them twice or more... Besides that, the fact that you have managed to build a successful business and TH-cam channel and community speaks volumes about your ability to overcome the challenged posed by your neurodiversity. Keep rocking on!
I have ADHD as well and I know exactly how you feel.. It will be ok.. Just get the proper medication and make sure that you feel normal.. or as close to normal as possible.. It is like a superpower and a complete tornado in your head hinderance.. All I can say is that I watch you all the time and you make me actually concentrate on something for longer than most. Love ya bro!
Yes ADHD does sometimes suck. But i believe that you are actually a rolemodel. You not only have managed to create a quite successful company where you are also seen as one of the big guys (pun not intended), but you show people who live with ADHD that you just have to keep trying, and then results will come. Love the fact that you keep the integrity of your vision for your channel and not just selling out. That is another good example of succeeding in managing ADHD
My wife had the same things. She recently lost 60kg and it ended up killing her gall bladder as well. It got to a point where every week she would have an attack that would last 2 days where she couldn’t not move and the pain would cause here to puke constantly. Got it removed and now she is back to her normal self. it sucks not being able to do anything to help. Glad to hear you are back to normal health and that the recovery went ok. Stay strong mate and keep making awesome videos.
Hey Jay, I think you can do the parallel routing like you mentioned if you look at how the blocks are interconnected inside the direct link box. I was looking into that for my own build and even asked EK and it should work. Coming in at the bottem left, going out top left into cpu, coming back top right and going out bottem right. I was never sure about this though and decided to go a completely diiffernt route with a distro plate anyway.
Trust me Jay your workshop like mine will forever be evolving. I build guitars and I always want better bench space, more tools etc etc..... the never ending struggle.
I had two big break downs - I WAS a Global IT manager and IT/Gaming Rec Con... then my mind said.. "Meh - taking a holiday - see you in a couple of years". I lost it all and... couldn't be happier. 50 year old, back living with my parent and YES that is a problem. Its ALSO what I need. I totally lost control - luckily I am not an angry person, so me losing control is just smashing up some shit and yelling a lot. There's a "dark" me that wants to attack, but so far I have him covered. Dealing with anxiety and stress and ..... all of it.... is hard. I am 50 - I feel more vulnerable today than I did at 16. And I was terrified at 16. Sometimes... you dont need all this shit... just step back and breath. Most of it doesn't matter - really. I'm still not fixed. But I am better than I was 20 years ago. I've never had surgery - BUT I was given 12 hours to live due to a blood condition (4 years ago). And I said "Good - I want the peace". I didn't realise what impact that little statement would have on my family, friends. I recovered, but now I'm alone. They won't talk to me. As far as they are concerned I betrayed them. Your death is not you. Its what you leave behind. If you feel the impact - and you'll know.... run to family or friends... dont wait. I had it all - global trips, and every benefit you can think of.... and I still ended up in a dark room on my own, shivering. If you feel "bad"... ask for help. From a guy who has a bit of experience.... Yeah, go do that.
Glad everything is going better Jay! You've inspired me, your channel re-ignited my passion for watercooling and modding and finally 2 years ago after 3 weeks of pain I managed to finish my first build. Had to go big or go home so used glass tubes. Just 2 small tips on the build in this video. For the bottom pipe, instead of the kink, wouldn't it have been cleaner to use an extension fitting to bring the tube in line with the port on the other end? Also, for the drain port on the back. You could still use a black swivel, just replace the green o ring with a black one 😉 You are an inspiration for many of us. Keep doing what you're doing and ... Thank you.
Adhd and surgery is a really bad combo. I've been through something like you and also have ADHD. Glad that everything seems to have worked out for you. And that you are feeling better!
@@_Windless_Flame adhd is a common misunderstood diagnosis. Please don't spread misinformation that just enforces stereotypes and stops people from searching for help.
@@_Windless_Flame no you aren't a wellwisher. You are spreading misinformation and are enforcing stereotypes. You are simplifying way to many things. The things you write are the reason it took me 30 years to get help. And I know countless other people that didn't get help because of the same reasons. But once we got help, and the right medication, then we could actually live our lives. With a good balance. Stop. Spreading. Misinformation.
@Windless Flame You can train to sprint faster but you're not going to be a fast sprinter if the muscle fibers in your legs are 80% slow twitch dominant. Variations in human physiology/cognition exist...
A no gallbladder buddy! Its horrendous isn't it. Amount of times I was in hospital with the pains before it was even diagnosed was unreal. I feel your pain! But i like your channel as you're really down to earth, your fun and goofy and take the "seriousness" out of PC's and help break those stereotypes. Keep up the good work Jay,
Glad you're on the mend from the gall bladder op! ADD/ADHD fucking sucks, I suffer the same with starting something and being unable to finish it, so I sympathise with you :( Edit: I'd have used a spacer to line up the gpu input with the output from the bottom radiator, but your solution works too
@_Windless_Flame wtf? Who gave you a rorschach test sheet and made you Sigmund Freud? I've long dealt with ADHD and how it affects my life, it's not something you can fucking fix with a just concentrate harder bro mentality. If you don't have ADD/ADHD then I'm happy for you, on the other side for us dealing with it, it's not fun, it affects everything I do, from timekeeping, to remembering appointments and birthdays, to keeping on top of chores and work, to taking part in social events and hobbies, keeping in touch with friends, focusing on tasks when there's noise, bringing my attention back to another person when they're talking to me, keeping my attention on something/someone even with no distractions, and more, this is not others labelling us, or whatever other nonsense you're spouting, it's an actual, real condition that affects daily life. If you want to play pretend armchair psychologist, then do that with your neighbours dog, not with real people. I've dealt with ADHD for 35 years, don't tell me I can fix it with practice, cause I've had plenty of fucking practice you halfwit.
Jay; I don't comment on videos very often, but your thought processing for that first bottom tube run - 11:00 - sounded a lot like how I would "brain" the same problem - as you outlined all steps, I saw exactly what you were thinking and it all made perfect sense. I get your heightened frustration levels with what things need doing & your capacity to get them done - esp. with physical health issues throwing wrenches in the works, n/m mental ones - but that's part of what makes your channel what it is... don't stop being you. This build is looking great; whatever wins you get along the way, take them - I'm sure your friend will be happy with the build when you're done with it - so added stress/anxiety is what you bring on yourself... it's gonna happen & it wouldn't be a J2C build if they weren't there. Good luck from here on out; looking forward to the rest of the build.
I'm 41 next month, I originally got diagnosed with "ADD" when I was 11 before there was a difference between ADD & ADHD. In 2021 found out i'm not only ADHD but also on the autism spectrum lol. AuDHD is a far choicer word than a b*tch. You do You Jay
Jay we all love you man, and Phil and Nic. I hope you are feeling better soon. I enjoy having a beer while watching your live RTFM show. It feels like sitting with friends having a beer etc. Take care of yourself bud and have a break if needed. Forget us. You and your family are the priority.
Personal management is hard for everyone. Specific challenges have specific solutions but everyone has them. For what it’s worth, you accomplished more than most. I wish you the best managing your new diet regime without the gallbladder, it’s harder than most people think. Onward and upward Jay
I feel you to the core on this! I have been diagnosed 3 times and been on and off medication since I was 9/ 10 years old! I struggle everyday with my life and it's sometimes it really gets to be too much! You have been such an great guy to watch since I've been into computers, and I love your content. I've had my co.puter apart for over a year and just have not been able to finish it, it hurts everyday when I look at it and it stresses me out like crazy! I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you can find some relief! But you definitely are not alone!
ADHD is a pain, 6 projects in the works currently, have 12 running (usually limit it too 8 total, but house surprises happen). Glad you are still kicking with us. The Megaman build is looking awesome, can't wait till it is finished.
The joys of ADHD.... I feel your pain with starting many tasks and never finishing them. I will say that once you find a way to take the scatter brained multi-track mind and use it to your advantage then really ADHD is a gift. I have managed this finally after years and it's fantastic in the IT field. No notes needed when working on 10 different machines at once. Not sure if it will help you or not but I would say get the workshop side of things reconfigured and structured with a place for every thing and a thing for every place and then the accomplishment from that will help you power through everything else. Glad you got your health issues taken care of and keep up the awesome content!
My mother had gallbladder surgery last year it was ROUGH until she was able to get it removed. I'm so glad you were able to have yours removed and that you're on the mend!
Jay, the only two things that truly are most inportant, Your health and your wonderful family. Like myself, I'm sure we'll all be here when you feel better and return. Let me make a heartfelt comment. You are the most up front no bs, also to the companies don't bs the customers. You're a great person and my personal trusted goto person for all things computer builds, parts and etc! Love your channel. You are greatly Appreciated! ps, have ADHD and yes, sucks big! Personally I make list. it helps.
I can relate to both the ADHD and the Gallbladder problems. I had to have mine removed about 3 years back because I was in so much pain that I was passing out frequently and just like you, it was filled with stones, infected, and a short time from potentially killing me. ADHD wise, I've been dealing with it for as long as I can remember. Glad to see you back, and welcome to the "No Gallbladder" Club!
I had this video running while I cleaned up cables under my desk since I have moved into my own apartment. I have ADHD but also likely OCD and definitely high functioning Autism, so organizing stuff and cleaning up cables to be super clean looking is fun for me :) happy to hear you could get help surgery and that you are feeling refreshed somewhat!
i have struggled with ADD most of my life but didnt get diagnosed until last year. Most nights it keeps me up and causes me to have insomnia when the random impulses start and my head wont let me sleep so i know your stuggles jay. I still cant manage my life with it but we appreciate you and the team for giving us so much knowledge and entertainment
Diagnosed with ADHD at 40 here. Really blows sometimes. For me it is the crippling anxiety that seems to come from it. The meds help, but they make me less motivated because stress seems to push me to do more. I think it gets easier the longer we work with different solutions for our physical and mental health. Always a fan of your channel Jay!
Glad you're feeling better man. I can't sympathize with the ADHD myself but my (adult) son suffers from it - it is a very tough thing to watch him deal with this, as it's affecting his life/career in a very negative way. Keep the WC videos coming! It's been a couple years since my hard tube build and I'm getting the itch again...
I never realised that I had ADHD/Autism until my youngest was born. It can also have its advantages. You tend to pick up things others glance over. I had it explained to me one day as walking into a TV store and while others just notice the TV's are on we tend to notice what channel each is on, which ones have poor connections, which ones have the colour settings wrong etc. Don't be so hard on yourself, yet another trait, you run an amazing channel that gives great, useful and relevant information. You have been sick (very sick) and I am sure you will come out of this better and stronger. As we say over here in Australia, eat a concrete truck and harden the duck up! Cheers mate. Terry from Australia.
Glad youre getting better dude. Im a teacher and we have some UK SEN students that would love to take your overflow stuff, happy to help lmao. Health first, work second. !!
man I looooooove!!!!!!!!!!!!! your videos jay big fan you taught me things I thought that I couldn't do. I'm so glad you're feelin' better, I'm 24 and have ADHD and autism and bi-polar not to mention OCD and ODD plus anxiety disorder, watching you is a real inspiration, and I'm building my 3rd pc this week and I am loving it. thx jay keep making videos
i would know this from experience... but once your gall bladder has been removed, you REALLY have to watch what you eat! Less fats... since your gallbladder is gone it's a bit harder for your body to deal with fatty foods! Glad you made it through though and caught it early enough! :D
Wait to you see ADHD+... Nah but seriously, Jay, stuff happens, man. ADD/ADHD or other conditions that cause similar symptoms, it sucks, it really does. We here together for you, for each other. Love your videos, and we love you!
Everything you have done to this pc looks very intentional. I love everything about it so far. You're doing a phenomenal job. Oh, man, I can't wait to see some of the process of getting your workspaces set up how you want them. That's gonna be great. Anyway, great video. Thanks, Jay! Love you!
Thanks for sharing your adhd. I go through the same thing due to various circumstances. Take it one day at a time and if something doesn’t get attention, it will be there tomorrow.
I had mine removed after being told it was dying for the past 6 years. Gone, but still have some digestive issues. Glad you had it taken care of Jay. Love your videos too. Yes, ADHD is a pain
I've found that making a list of the tasks I want to complete (easiest to most difficult) and then giving a timeframe to completion on each task, helps me immensely. Good luck on getting everything up to par with how you want it!
Good luck with your recovery, and getting all the stuff done! Remember to take care of yourself, and never put work over your health. You have great team and family,so if you need to take rest and just chill. I understand how annoying is having a lot of stuff which you want to finish, but you just can't because life. But as i said before health always go first. Wrote a guy,who is almost year after stroke in age of 26...don't overwork yourself people, and ask for help (family, friends or psychologist) if you have to,don't be ashamed. Life is only one,we should enjoy it. Cheers
**Word of Advice** (from a fellow ADHD survivor) Write down, note, sketch, draw, photo augment… your ideas and plans while you are having them. It makes it much easier to make progress on multiple starts after you have stepped away but may have “nervous” energy. Glad your health is getting back to where it should be.
Current build Pc in white looks neet, the tubing angles gives it more vibe. Doing good work on it mate. Edit: the SMA8 case just sitting there, needs a rebuilt with your ideas for your personal home rig or something If that was my case knowing the history of & all. It would be the only case ill ever use period unless hardware limitations. When ever that build comes if ever, i do hope tho. It's just 1 of those cases that says Beast & nothing touches it. Nothing even comes close. I just love how that cased holds so much sentimental value, within the Pc community. As it should & im so glad you kept it.
I feel you dude. I know a guy with adhd who bought all the parts to build a Voron 3d printer and months later hasn't started yet. He's got a lot of health issues too, not to mention he relies on Twitch now for most of his income since he still hasn't recovered from getting laid off from a major technology company. I wish life treats you both better in the future.
I feel for you Jay. I had my galbladder removed last year. I was at a point where I was having an attack 4-5 times per week that would last for like 4-8hrs. That is a form of hell I'm glad I'll never have to visit again. Glad you're doing better on that front my friend.
I knew you must be adhd. I relate so much to your videos. And gall bladder - ugh. Been there, done that. So glad you feel comfortable sharing with us. We relate to the struggles.
Love you Jay & wish you well. Don’t be too hard on yourself- my computer area is also a bit chaotic & I need to have my own purge of excess Mac & PC stuff.
This must be a new TH-cam trend --- content producers are real people as Paul just did one about down sizing and going back to his garage from the studio. Jay, I have a congenital heart defect diagnosed in my late 20s. I was given to my 50s, and now approach 70. And am doing my first and probably last build due to yourself and others. It is good to be successful at business, but it is important to enjoy your life and not push too hard. Enjoy life. God bless.
At 42 I was diagnosed as having or being a low level functioning autistic and Dyslexic. This answered a lot of questions for me and about myself. Knowing the issue's that I had made it a lot easier to handle life.
Jay, do your thing man. I'm glad the surgey went well. Love the videos, taught me to literally build my first computer a couple years ago. Your builds may take centuries to complete... but they are definitely well worth the wait
After watching my wife go through the same thing and having her gallbladder removed hers was so bad the stone was the size of a golf ball and could not be removed laparoscopically, so long recovery and a large scar she is recovering well. We both wish you a speedy recovery.
I'm glad you're still with us Jay. Your channel is one that I watch all the time, and I appreciate you and the whole team that makes this happen. Thanks!

Felt.
Health issues can REALLY throw everything off track, it is totally understandable. Glad to hear you're
feeling better!
Fixating on organization: every ADHD person's ultimate contradiction
I start out tracking things great at first, and then the notebook just becomes part of my environment and suddenly it doesn't exist (even though it's right in front of my face)
And then the tracking itself becomes tedious and no longer gives dopamine so the whole thing gets left in the past :S
Those things can indeed help many AD(H)D sufferers... but they don't help everyone. Finding out what works *for you* is crucial. Luckily, Jay is pretty good at figuring out complex problems in buggy "equipment"... =:o}
Is that really adhd? Maybe i should get tested. Ive got so many things ill start that i just loose interest in.
@@JerameatC same, I've been doing this for decades. Maybe I should get tested or see if the university nearby will brainscan me.
I 100% agree with this comment. @jayzTwoCents you look like a guy who needs a vacation - take one!
I wish you good health and happiness, Jay. There's a surprising amount of people that suffer from this condition. Life can be quite a challenge, and dealing with ADHD doesn't help.
Also a sh*t ton of young people in last decade calling ADHD the fact of not being able to focus because of the huge lack of will to.
Those folks always existed.
It's just that in the past you dismissed them as misbehaved, lazy, apathetic, unacademic, etc...
@@glmchn It's the same thing with Autism to many people use that to cover up the fact there just assholes

True, but the limitless creativity is AWESOME!
I create flexible goals and focus on developing an everyday process, that way I can weather the bad mental days and catch the wind on good days.
It’s especially bad when you don’t get much sleep. Great days of work, the other days of nothingness

@Windless Flame Somehow, it feels like most of the people on the planet who have ADHD are in the US lol
Most of my friends from the US have been diagnosed with some form of ADHD. but at home, i can't think of anyone around me who has. It seems to be a very tightly geographically restricted condition.
Regardless, now more than ever it's so important to take time to manage our own stress and work levels.
@@ledoynier3694 I think it's more that the USA is ahead of the game in figuring out mental and neurological conditions generally, and thus being able to diagnose them within its own population. There's a reason why the US-produce "DSM" series of manuals are pretty much the global standard for defining and diagnosing these things: The USA has more psychologists than any other country on Earth, plus a bountiful supply of students who will volunteer for psych/neuro studies, to earn extra cash to help get them through college! =:o}

I am glad you pulled thru; we would hate to lose one of our main tech influencers on TH-cam due to medical issues. Thank you for all you do.
Great to have you back Jay!
I’m currently watching this in the hospital, recovering from a health issue myself.
Jay,
A lot of people will say “sorry to hear that”, or even worse, “I know how it feels” because that’s what society has told us to say to help someone feel better.

I know how you feel Jay. I am the same way. Don't feel like you are alone. Worrying about finishing everything you started makes it worse!
You could still use a black swivel, just replace the green o ring with a black one 😉
You are an inspiration for many of us.
@Windless Flame
You can train to sprint faster but you're not going to be a fast sprinter if the muscle fibers in your legs are 80% slow twitch dominant. Variations in human physiology/cognition exist...
Lol tell me you don't have a mental health issue or understand it without telling me....
ADD/ADHD fucking sucks, I suffer the same with starting something and being unable to finish it, so I sympathise with you :(
Edit:
I'd have used a spacer to line up the gpu input with the output from the bottom radiator, but your solution works too
same, hate it to bits
stuff just gets boring fast, and that's why i cant finish most of the stuff i start
I would also have used an extender/spacer.
@@_Windless_Flame 💯 that + people giving toxic positivity.
ADHD is often misdiagnosed people.
I have aspergers and adhd, sucks to think so differently from everyone else
@@_Windless_Flame get out of here with that ablest bullshit
Diagnosed with ADHD at 41, which explained so damn much :p And the more I read about combined Autism/ADHD, I'm pretty sure that's me too...
@Windless Flame
I see you're spamming the same comment endlessly without thought XD
I'm super happy you're still with us and I'm praying for your speedy recovery! Much love! ❤
Stay strong bother, Part of you thats adhd is a part of you that we also love about you. Love what you do, what you who and do what you do :)
i have struggled with ADD most of my life but didnt get diagnosed until last year.
My mom had her gall bladder out a few years ago. Glad you're on the mend! All the best man.
I'm glad you are feeling better. Looking forward to your new projects and finishing your old ones. Take care Jay!
i would know this from experience... but once your gall bladder has been removed, you REALLY have to watch what you eat! Less fats... since your gallbladder is gone it's a bit harder for your body to deal with fatty foods! Glad you made it through though and caught it early enough! :D
Seeing this video makes me feel so much better about myself. Not in a put you down way but in like a knowing im not the only one way. Thanks Jay!
Glad you are still here Jay! You are the best!
Cheers
**Word of Advice** (from a fellow ADHD survivor)
Write down, note, sketch, draw, photo augment… your ideas and plans while you are having them. It makes it much easier to make progress on multiple starts after you have stepped away but may have “nervous” energy.
Glad your health is getting back to where it should be.
Can't wait to see the finished PC. Glad your feeling, and looking, better Jay. You Da Man..
Good on ya for getting your GB taken care of. My dad has his removed a few weeks ago and it turns out it was precancerous.
Glad you’re healthy, man!
The build is looking great! Thank you for being honest & real, so glad you’re feeling better.
Thank you for sharing your personal health Jay. Hope you get better and stronger!
I have ADHD, went back to Adderall at 42. Complete game changer. Crushing my goals. Cheers! Love ya Jay!
I wish you a speedy recovery bud, get well soon Jay
After watching my wife go through the same thing and having her gallbladder removed hers was so bad the stone was the size of a golf ball and could not be removed laparoscopically, so long recovery and a large scar she is recovering well.
We both wish you a speedy recovery.
I really like the added angles in the water loop. It gives the build a more "industrial" look.
