Gottlieb Close Encounters Restoration Completed! (Dr. Dave's Pinball Restorations)

BOURNE, MA: Over 20 hours of restoration work went into the mini restoration of this Wonderful System One Gottlieb Classic! This was a mini restoration that we concentrated mainly on the high points. Repinning connectors and sourcing 3D printing of 2 connector housings going to the main board that were missing as well as replacing part of the wire harness that was battery corrosion damaged. Blue filter backglass touch up, hot glue securing of the display glasses, playfield cleaning, custom led blinkers for the backglass mother ship and other artwork elements, new plastic set, new pop bumper caps, buffing of all the playfield metal, new coin door inserts and red leds, silicone rubber kit, new incandescant bulbs for the playfield, full flipper rebuilds as well as pop bumper rebuilds.
Another great Gottlieb System 1 pinball machine from the late 70's playing better than when it hit the arcade back in 1978 thanks to an all in one Pascal main board replacing all the original boards in this game. These System ones were essentially EM pinball machines converted to solid state electronics. The Pascal gets rid of all of the shoddy boards Gottlieb chose to use and adds elements like an attract mode for the lights on the playfield (Original system ones had no attract light show as they were off like an EM) as well as a skill shot and a ball save as well as extra ball stacking among a host of other software selectable features.

They are out there ready to be found. Restored up versions are another matter. But you could always send it to me to make it look and play as nice as this one. =)
