I had the blue coloured album and played it till it grooved! Only thought about it today when a good friend passed away and listened to this and Ships and cried. Still awesome as in 2017 Ian! Thanks for the memories.
I am close to 50 years of listening. I always quote your lyrics. you were referring to me with "96 decibel freak". please come to Albuquerque new Mexico the last time I saw you play was with Mott the hoopla in 1974. please.
Derek Cresto I saw Ian in 1980 or 1981 - can't remember - at The Agora , a smaller venue in Cleveland, OH. You're absolutely right - he does rock! There's just some artists that create a greater "party" atmosphere more than others, and Ian is one of them. That was one of the most spirited, lively performances I've ever seen. J Geils is another top-notch party concert.
I saw him w/Mick Ronson. Such stage presence! He owned the arena, even though he was a warmup act.
June2023 On A Friday in Detroit With Ian Hunter Still Playing🎶🎶🎶
Bruce Springsteen probably was inspired by this song to write Glory Days. Ian Hunter a so underrated talent.
Ian Hunter is alive!! Mick Ronson who plays on this yes R.I.P.!!! Great tune from one of of the best Hunter's albums!!!I have it on vynil!!!

20 Years old in 1979 - I was a college radio DJ - could not get enough of this song!
Chris Jones It has been superceded by versions on his live albums. Brilliant song with which to engage the audience, encouraging participation.
Though I was a wee tyke at 10, I had family with good taste who turned me on to the best music.

In 1980, i saw Ian Hunter open for Blue Oyster Cult, in Presque Isle, Maine!
Ian Hunter crushed it!!
In my opinion, they blew away Blue Oyster Cult!
So great to hear again!!
Great memories of Hunter/Ronson and UFO lps spinning with that blue-and-white Chrysalis logo circa '79!

Note - he just did a series of shows (June 2015) in New York for his 76th Birthday . And if you can see him live - DO IT. He rocks like a 30 year old.
This song sounds like it was *heavily* influenced by Warren Zevon.
Greg Singh Ian was around doing this style since 1969 with Mott. Warren wasn't known via the radio until 1975.
Other way around.
he is so overrated
lycan73 i would hope so.

Bruce Springsteen may have been inspired by Ian but Ian was inspired by Mick Jagger.
