I am pretty sure you're the only musician I've ever seen who can use a melodica, a banjo, and so many synths in one arrangement and it actually sound right, this is solid stuff man, I really appreciate your work.
I really like the direction you went with this one. The slower pace makes it feel more tragic and more of a heartache when you have to fight Toriel, the first monster in the Underground to show you love and care.
This is not only my go-to sad Undertale cover, it's also the go-to music that automatically plays in my head when thinking about sad stuff. TL;DR, it's great.
I usually study to a lot of your music, but that outro with His Theme made me stop my physics work and just sit there. I'm not sure what you did with that, but I think it is something magical. I think this might be my favorite work you've done. Keep up this phenomenal work man.
I really like this take on the song. Really brings out the emotions that most of us felt going through that battle for the first time. ... Tell me there's going to be a full, standalone version of that kickass "His Theme" retro 80's synth that's at the end there!!
I have such respect for you guys, your music is incredible. The first song I listened to by y'all was Nascency on the Determination album with RichardEB, was blown away. Undertale is my favorite game and y'alls creativity and music sense boosted it's amazing soundtrack so much.
Nice buildup! I like how it's always quite slow paced, and it's always welcoming to see a major change in melody and rythm half way through. Gotta keep it fresh you know.
This makes think of Hotline Miami meets Undertale. Maybe Jasper Byrne(I think)? Either way both incredible soundtracks, and has a very nice fusion apparently with this awesome cover.
So I asked in your other video for a Super Meat Boy Cover...I thought maybe you didn't know the game. Then saw the decal in this video...My hopes are rising! :)
I'm noticing a trend between you and Rich... you're both doing songs that the opposite person covered previously... (Asgore and Heartache being covered by Rich originally/Core and Another Medium by you)... are we gonna see a "Determination Vol. 2" with cover swaps? lol
You just keep getting better and better, man! What do you use for mastering? You have so many rich sounds going on, and they never sound muddied or thick. Anyway, love the track. Just hearing it again hit me right in nostalgia. So much Determination.
I've never been so happy to be sad. This arrangement definitely makes me feel what it would be like to kill Toriel (I didn't. But I can imagine.) I love what you did here Ace!
Oh man to be continued? A link to Richaad? Determination Part 2 with the roles reversed (Ace doing bosses Rich doing ambient)? Because I am SO DOWN WITH THAT.
I just can't get away from Undertale lately. I like how this one sounds more mournful, fitting a bit more into its title. It really makes the main theme at the ending sadder. And from listening to RichaadEB's song, I think the two of you might need to expand Determination a little (which I will buy a hard copy of when I can).
Keep coming back to this song and I have to know, what are the distorted images that play at the end of each Purple Side song? Some of it looks like someone (A child?) walking, while another part looks like someone collapsed holding their hand out. Pairing it with His Theme makes it especially haunting. A metaphor for genocide or perhaps a rendition of the tapes from true lab? Your version of His Theme is incredible by the way :D
Y O U... .....at my most vulnerable moment.... To think I was worried that you would n't fit in out there.... Eheheheh!!! You really are no diffrent than THEM....
In all truth I think that the tempo was too slow. This is a dynamic battle piece after all, and the tragedy comes from Toriel actually hurting protagonist to pressure them to fight. But Undertale outro fit it well.
You think you're really smart, don't you? In this world, it's kill or be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules. You spared the life of a single person.
I am pretty sure you're the only musician I've ever seen who can use a melodica, a banjo, and so many synths in one arrangement and it actually sound right, this is solid stuff man, I really appreciate your work.
Love the profile pic ^^
Yeah.
Love eet
The partners in crime are back! I'm so stoked on this man. Great job!
Stellar as usual, and a really cool take on this song. I'll certainly be jamming to this today.
SWANKY?!
I really like the direction you went with this one. The slower pace makes it feel more tragic and more of a heartache when you have to fight Toriel, the first monster in the Underground to show you love and care.
Oh god... I just looked at the images used for all the purple side videos and didn't even realise we were head down the genocide route
Omg i have no words... Love it.
Proud to support on patreon
Haha il me semblait bien avoir entendu ses musiques dans tes vidéos
This is not only my go-to sad Undertale cover, it's also the go-to music that automatically plays in my head when thinking about sad stuff. TL;DR, it's great.
That outro music tho.
:D
Goose bumps man
Goose bumps and watery eyes with that bit
"Hold on, I've got something in my eyes...yeah, it's tears."

Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday other then blasting the newest Ace Waters song all around my house! Awesome work man!
Every time you do an Undertale, my day gets a little brighter.
I really like this take on the song. Really brings out the emotions that most of us felt going through that battle for the first time.

I just wanted to say that this song is really wonderful and that it gives me strength
Another great VGM :D. Best of luck to you Ace Waters. I'd love to see what you make of the Samorost 3 music... nudge nudge, wink wink
His theme/ Memory gets me every time...

Great job as always! :D
Your style is definitely one that's inspiring. I'd love to make music of this kind of nature. And this arrangement along with the outro is amazing.
awesome video and I love your music
Very, very chill. I like.
Utterly beautiful dude!
Great job!
This has some pretty heavy Stickerbrush Symphony vibes. Love it.
As per every cover you make art
So excited for next post! Undertale Main Theme?
He already did the main theme for DETERMINATION
Nice...just nice...

Hell yeah, I know Meat Boy! I responded to your comment as well!

I'd hope so that'd be awesome
Well, there was a new album released today which kinda confirms that...determination-ut.bandcamp.com/album/determination-the-purple-side
This comment aged very well.
Knocked it out of the park again.

Meat Boi!
hi, Ace Waters !!
You think you're really smart, don't you?
In this world, it's kill or be killed.
So you were able to play by your own rules.
You spared the life of a single person.
I freaked the hell out to that line. xD
Can you do waterfall next? It's my favorite area theme.
Already have on Determination. It was one of the songs that never got a music video.
Ace Waters Oh wow. Going to check it out now. Thanks for all your work AW.
DOES THIS, YOUR APRIL FOOLS ASGORE, AND BONETROUSLE MEAN DETERMINATION 2?!
also like if you have seen a similar comment on EB's channel.

+Ace Waters hi ace! Would you be willing to tell me at all if it has to do with another album?

Quick question, what are the cables coming out of the NES ?
Its a midi in cable that comes from the chip maestro card that is in the NES, which allows me to control my NES soundchip with a midi controller.
