Garbage Trucks Working in New York City (Part II)

The 2nd and final part of the videos I took while on vacation.
Personally, I like this part more, mainly as the trucks you will see here are much more interesting.
First is a DSNY Mack LEU/ Heil on public litter bins. Collected 3 times a week, NYC's street corner trash bins are constantly full which means more entertainment for you guys! This might be the only footage of this type on TH-cam.
Second is another Silver Services Group Autocar/Leach 2RII RL on construction material. I have nicknamed this truck the "Best Sounding Truck in All of NYC" - and youw will see why. This reminds me of an ASL as the engine revvs when he tips it, empties it, and brings it down.
Third is a Mack RD600/Loadmaster which was filmed directly across the street from the Silver Services truck. You might here that truck's whine in the background if you listen closely. Not too many Loadmasters out there anymore, so this is some special footage.
Finally are 2 Queens County Carting Mack RD600/ Leach's collecting at a construction site at around 12am! Don't ask why I was out that late - its a long story. The one parked the opposite direction on the street blew enormous clouds of gray smoke in the air everytime it packed, and although I could see it from where I was standing, my camera couldn't.

Epic footage with the DSNY truck. And those demo/construction packers are awesome. They take all of that metal and debris and just pack it in like any garbage. The Loadmaster is such a beast too. Very cool videos brother. Thanks for your work.

I appreciate the front angle you got of the truck around 5:20, get to hear a way a real RL should sound. The Silver Services machine looked just as good as it sounded too! Fail nicely done at 11:06 hehe Can't beat the NYC variety of equipment and haulers eh? Nice work on the compilation.

Another great video! Really liked the DSNY truck on the litter bins, really neat seeing those picked up. The way that the guy lifted them is pretty weird, but I think they're supposed to do it that way. The Volvo/ Leach was absolutely beautiful!!! Nice looking, well kept up, and the colors work perfectly together! I really like that Loadmaster too, with the huge blade that swallows up the metal like it's nothing. Great upload!

Nice trucks! That DSNY RL was pretty cool! Loved the way it sounded. I thought the driver's way of dumping the carts was interesting. Seemed like a really cool crew as well. The Silver Service group truck looked fantastic. The hopper of the Loadmaster looks like a monster - really like those. The night shot was cool. I find it interesting that they work round the clock out there. Glad you were able to film out in NY! Great job!

Great trucks! Like that Mack/Heil! Public litter collection is very fun to watch! I think its even better when they collect it with an RL than an ASL in my opinion. Again those little dumpsters are very cool! That Silver Services truck looks pretty cool too! Wow that loadmaster almost looks like a Heil Collectomatic lol. Last truck was pretty cool too! Boy those streets are sure busy, almost reminds me of SF. Also noticed a lot of people walking and looking into your camera lol did anyone ever ask you what you were filming? Overall great video! And look forward to what you have to post next!
thelyokofannumber1 Thanks - yes, very busy streets. I had to be very careful when filming lol. People in NYC didn't seem to care about me filming, and never once did I get questioned. There's just so many people doing so many things people become immune to it I guess you could say. Thanks again!
Awesome video once again! Like I said, I never get tired of DSNY and their Mack Heils, I like all of the driving shots of the Mack Heil, Mack LEU is my favorite chassis no doubt! I love the way they look/sound/ride. DSNY reminds me of Milwaukee (well the part where they buy Mack Heils, not so much CCC Heils or CCC Leaches) a lot with the Bi-fold doors and the Heils, and for the matter I'm glad Milwaukee buys Macks! I really never understood what the little cage thing on top of the body is for, I have seen a lot of the trucks with little cages on the exhausts and such, but they look cool. Great work with the Demo trucks too, the type of packer @ 6:09 is cool, but I can not stand the way the carrier looks, it does not go up all the way like a normal carrier should (Like the Leach or the Heil). It upsets me for some odd reason, but none the less very good work!

Great job catching DSNY handling the litter bins. Those are no doubt a pain to empty, I imagine the rolling technique is to keep from denting the bins by smacking them on the hopper sill, plus they're kinda heavy. There's also the chance of getting wet with all the half finished drinks people toss away, expanded steel mesh isn't exactly watertight lol. No thanks. On to the demolition trucks, Scott and I actually saw a Silver Services truck just like this one (maybe even the same one), no video though. Glad to see some Loadmaster as well. I'm curious as to which you prefer, 400 Series or the Leaches like what Queens County runs? All together a very nice vid.
georgewuzheer Thanks! You wouldn't believe how much liquid I saw being thrown out - probably made up at least 1/4 -1/2 the weight of the load itself. Cool that you saw a Silver Services truck. Personally, I like the 400 series better. Smoother operation as well as a unique and classic blade & design. Glad you liked it.
georgewuzheer im glad you cleared this up as I assumed his attitude was just he can't be bothered and hanging the day out.. But it all makes sense now doing the rolling technique!

Nice work wow I didn't know until now that NYC has this many trucks from different companies I like how instead of bulky item the have metal garbage trucks anyways nice job and I can't wait for the future vids you will bring to your channel
Kanyile Ahegbebu Thanks definitely some diverse trucks there. Not really bulky item but if you watched the full video you would see that construction material was being hauled by a private companies rather than DSNY. Expect some City of Santa Monica on friday and UPW on Monday
