Welcome to the 5th Episode of RTL Talks! We have a very special guest with us today - Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia. From his early days as an economist at the World Bank to becoming one of the key architects of India's economic reforms in the 1990s, his life has been dedicated to public service and economic development. His recent book, Backstage, an intimate portrait of India’s economic reform, contributes to our larger understanding of the economy, and the thinking behind the decisions.
This episode is not so much about the economic reforms Mr Ahluwalia is publicly known for but about the person behind the reforms - the dutiful son, the loving husband and father, the doting grandfather who is deeply interested in what his grandkids are studying, and the chef in him who rustles up his famous French onion soup for them.
What struck us most about him is his hunger for learning, and keen desire to contribute. To us, that is his secret of always feeling so young and alive. In this episode, he shares his personal experiences and also opens up on mentoring, leadership, the art of persuasion, parenting, the thinking behind the decision-making, the importance of making choices, and not only being decisive but also having the ability to implement. The reformer in him is keen to see a shift in our education system. We have a fun round of Rapid Fire as well, which is packed with wit and wisdom.

Like attracts like and I love the fact that you attracted this energy as you too like him have the same hunger to learn and contribute which you are doing thru RTL and Voyce-Sewa and service after leaving your job of 6yrs at WHO--Montek jee is a wonderful soul and saw him in a different light esp with your Rapid fire round-excellent!
