Willard Brook State Park...…….man, you just blew my mind. Drove through there every day for years going back and forth from Ashburnham to Pepperell for work...….best commute ever. Great to see it as I'm in Utah now, thanks for the video and the awesome flashback.
Oh Charlie what a beautiful place to visit. I love to sit by water and waterfalls are one of my favourite places to be. Thank you so much for taking us with you, I could spend hours there. I went to the Ellensborough falls in East Australia, I don't have a clue how long it took me on crutches to get to the bottom of the gorge but it was a fantastic waterfall and Terry and I could hear nothing but the water crashing onto the rocks from a great height. You bring some very special moments in our lives to mind with your NT videos, bless you my friend. Mary-Ellen UK LFOD
@@NotThursday that was in 2008 and a very special place, it was the largest and loudest waterfall I have ever seen. The gorge it was in was full of amazing trees and flowers a wondrous place I will never forget.
Great video, Charlie! I spent most of my summers back in my youth in Lunenburg, MA, which is just south of West Townsend, so I know the area well! Did a lot of nice trout fishing around those areas! Brings back good memories!! Love it!
Nice falls. Great slow motion on them too. Yikes at looking down at them. I'm still afraid of heights, even through your videos. We have some nice falls in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Thanks for the hike.
Thanks that was a really nice place. Always a good time just getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and seeing what nature has for us to look at. Happy travels. Beeps.
"Spring is sprung, The grass is riz, I know where Trap Falls is!!!" I used to travel 119 several times a year as a kid/teen going to our summer place near Brat! (You know.) I love rambles with you, Charlie! LFOD! (No guessing here!)
@@NotThursday you guys are probably too young to remember the ice cream place that was on the corner of 119 and 31. We'd stop there on almost every trip!
Hi Charlie, Nice brisk walk, Thankyou. The waterfalls are beautiful, love the noise of the water, let's you know how powerful it is. Have a great weekend, ☺️👌🏻🥄
Well....thank you very much for taking us there Charlie. That's on my places to visit, and now that you've taken us there, I can see that it will be well worth the trip!!!
Nice video! Have never been to Trap Falls but have visited Doane Falls a few times back in the day which I think is in Royalston, so its not too far for you to drive. It is a series of good sized falls which are pretty impressive in early spring. Recently I have seen TH-cam videos of kayakers running the falls which is just nuts to me.
How beautiful that was and so relaxing. I just came in from out taking pictures of some wild flowers. What's fun is that they are wild now but they didn't used to be. They were very old grape hyacinth and yellow daffodils. They have become naturalized, but I am sure they were planted by settlers here a long time ago. I love it when I am walking in the woods and come across old domesticated flowers, there's sure to have been some old home-site on it at one time. Thanks for the invitation to Trap Falls Charlie, they really were worth seeing. I am curious, do you know why it is called Trap Falls? I think sometimes the names people give things are almost as curious as the places themselves. Thanks for another fun Not Thursday, enjoy your wonderful weather.
@@NotThursday I looked too and couldn't find a thing, so was hoping you might know. Thanks for trying. Maybe a dude named Trap owned the land?! : - ) More likely it was something more mundane like where they set out traps. One can always hope for a story like a group of settlers fell into a Trap set by natives or something, but I guess we will never know?! Sure enjoying the fine weather, what a lovely day.
there are tons of whitewater kayaking spots around here with many falls and old cabin sites as well as rocks with names and dates carved on them ill show nate them you gotta check them out its right up your ally
Charlie. After your last NT I was going to suggest you visit places that you could name. Lots of cool places you could make shorts of. Most you could even do a quick MD of for recent drops & a pleasant surprise now & then. BTW go to Trap falls after a good rain. It almost drys up in a hot summer. LFOD !
Next time when it's Summer Please take Joe !!!, Don't forget the extra dry towels change of well you know and yes extra cameras for different angles!!!; ) Thanks for the Not Thursday!!!
I'd like to scoot up that road on one of my bikes. I like a twisty bit of tarmac that will challenge you. Awesome place Charlie. I wonder how old that rock bridge over the river was?
You were so right Charlie; it was a beautiful day for a drive. As Trap Falls is in a Massachussets State Park, would metal detecting be allowed? Asking for a friend.
Our family Picnic here every Memorial Day in reverence to their Grand Father who fought the Civil War at 16 and His Father Abram that would not let him go alone
I drive 119 all the time on my way to 495, and always take a little shortcut to bypass that stretch through Willard Brook SF - never knew those falls were there! Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check it out. Many many (did I say how many?) years ago, I read an article in the Keene Sentinel about an archaeologist from UMass who was researching a Colonial-era stone tower in the woods either in Ashby or Ashburnham, I don't remember which. I've been unable to find any reference to it since, nor anyone else who's ever even heard of it. Does it ring a bell with you? It sounds like something right up your alley.

Awesome Road for the bikes will and one of the most popular for just that. I believe the bridge was a CCC built project.
