    From what I've seen with the Pastebin Pangenesis 2 + 0 strat, I believe the blobs are formed in a particular way. When the person getting a number subtracted from their debuff matches with their partner after the subtraction, they get the critical factor debuff and form the blob. In this way and the way the strat tells us to move, it basically means that towers 2 + 3 will always form blobs, then one tower from the final pair will form a blob.
    2 + 0 = no blob, become 1 + 0. Then they soak a tower together again. This time, 1 + 0 turn into 0 + 0. The player with 1 gets critical factor (the debuff stacks match after the subtraction).
    2 + 1 become 1 + 1, the player that had 2 to start will get a critical factor. We are then left with 1 + 0 and 1 + 0. Both will turn into 0 + 0s after the debuff stack is removed. The 1 that doesn't already have critical factor will receive it and form the blob at this point.
    This logic of how the critical factor debuff is assigned and blobs are formed is also consistent with Yuki's p12s part 2 strat and other week 1 clear videos. Another way to look at it is if the two participants in a mix are 1 stack of the debuff apart, the one with higher number of stacks before the mix will receive critical factor (assuming they don't already have it).
    I'm not sure this has been mentioned and it doesn't really matter as long as people are mixing with their tower soak buddy before moving on to the next tower, but I guess it's kind of interesting to point out nonetheless.
    Edit: After reading the actual tooltip for the redistribution mechanic, I guess when a person with no stacks mixes, the 'redistribution' only gives stacks to people who already had stacks of the debuff. It's possibly a 'hidden' mechanic because the tooltip is already really long. The redistribution mechanic tooltip technically makes it sound like a '0' can receive stacks, but that's clearly not how it works. The logic of both players having the same number of stacks after the redistribution resulting in critical factor and dropping a slime still applies.

    Love that this is all pastebin Strats. One thing I would like to add about Crush Helm: Paladins can help the healers out by using Cover on their cotank before the first hit of Crush Helm goes off, because all 8 stacks (it only caps at 4) will go on the Paladin instead of 4 on each tank, meaning only one tank has to be Esuna’d. The other tank still has to use mit to survive the follow-up hit (Cover does not… cover that lol) but it helps take the stress off of having both healers have to Esuna both tanks.
    IF you have a Paladin and a Warrior, you can completely ignore using Esuna on the debuff for the first Crush Helm entirely if you have the Paladin use their invuln before the hit goes off at the end; the Crush Helm debuff will fall off before the invuln does. Might be fun to try in a static environment!

    • @bmpixy
      @bmpixy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      one thing to note if you're doing the cover-invuln strat is that the paladin and warrior need to move away from each other to break the cover tether before the final hit, as if cover is still active the tankbuster will hit the warrior, be transmitted through the cover tether, and annihilate the paladin through their invuln because cover damage ignores hallowed ground

    For uavs, you dont actually need to go middle for heals. Every skill should be able to reach from one side of the arena to the other, its only the character models that shrink but ranges remain the same

      @@enlongjones2394 I agree on the Esuna part, and kinda along the same lines having Stuns / Interrupts matter more. Like in e8s, I could actually silence one of the rock elementals.
      I love using Rescue when I heal, but I feel like it would be nearly impossible for the devs to plan around it without being too specific. I guess having more mechanics that require constant-but-not-too-precise movement? That way casters can still turret until the last second?

    Nice guide :) ty for making and sharing. And hi to the cat in the background 🐱. My static does the Crush Helm with a PLD covering the MT (WAR). The cover method requires some positionals but also some timing on the PLD end. I'd like to add a tip to those groups that tend to use this way of solving crush helm. Pallas Athena has a speech bubble/chat line saying a line with -cover- in it. If you see that; you can hit cover and do rest of the mechanic. We found out this is the perfect timing for cover in terms of walking and activating Hallowed Ground. I hope it helps some one :D

    Good stuff! This will be super helpful to PF! Two things worth noting, during Pangenesis, let the west slime tethers person go far to NW corner instead of West, otherwise anyone NOT max-melee in the group will get clipped. At the end of Caloric 2, the last person in the daisy chain can simply return to their original spot, this may be more comfortable for those not knowing where to go.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hadn't even noticed the tiny safe spot in the NW corner during slimes. That's really helpful to note, though still good practice for the rest to go max melee out in case the slime tether player is slow.

    Hey Hector - quick question. I am thinking of doing a project for quick PF farm strats and wondered if you would mind if I used screenshots from your videos? I would obviously give you credit and provide links to your YT / socials. I am not planning on doing videos, it would be a website dedicated to / for newer players who may not have the time / skill level (and/or attention span) to learn all mechanics but want a quick run-down before heading into PF. (Not for savage content atm) I have recently been diagnosed with some potential long-term downtime so I wanted to put that time to use. That and I am tired of always being just a dorito. :) Of course, if you would rather I don't, I would completely respect your answer. Ty for all the time and effort you put in to your videos and the community!

    Got a guess on why the slimes don’t spawn when merging 2 and 0 on Pangenesis. If you combine 2 and 0, then divide by 2, you get 1, with no remainder. The other combinations (1 and 2, 1 and 0), do not divide evenly by 2. So maybe the slime is what you get when you have a remainder.

    • @kevinsano
      @kevinsano 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ye, I think the 0.5 remainder that gets rounded off becomes the slime. If you look up the actual idea of pangenesis it seems to coincide with the concept of gemmules.

    Really like all the strats you chose! Me personally would change UAV2 to have the person who had the first tether stay as the 2nd tethers will always be opposite of the first and really helps out casters cause you dont have to move at all and accomplishes the same thing. Also don't have to go middle for heals since the arena shrinks but ability and skill range doesnt. Great guide as always!

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว +4

  • @Caesar512
    @Caesar512 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The advantage of yolo'ing the classical proteans is that healers can bully people into getting a spot that lets them slide inwards. There is a lot of raidwide damage that has both just happened and is also coming. Good luck to you if you force a bunch of extra movement forcing a particular prio.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's nothing wrong with yoloing it and even if using a prio, I'd recommend being flexible in case you have a BLM in the party or are having issues healing before the ultima. My group just happened to find the prio more consistent.

    Quick question regarding Caloric 2: Can you accidently pass the entropification debuff back to the original player if you wait too long while stacking? My static has been having this issue and we cannot tell if it's a bug or server ticks being prevalent during our runs.
    Clarity: A player (1) would move to stack and the debuff would successfully pass to another player (2). They then move to their safe spots continuing the mechanic. However, after moving to their spots, the debuff would then hop from player (2) back to player (1) even though they're no longer stacking. Everyone in the static sees the debuff pass and then pass back from their pov so we believe it is not user error but rather a severe server tick.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unsatisfying is definitely the word for it. If anyone can give a good explanation for why 2+0 makes 1+0 but doesn't give critical factor or a slime, I'd love to hear it.

    • @TheDoddler
      @TheDoddler ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HectorHectorson I think it makes sense that losing the unstable factor is what gives you critical factor and summons the slime, but as you say the description strongly suggests that joining a 2+0 should result in 1+1 rather than 1+0. Doing that would cause you to summon 8 slimes and make it unbeatable though, and while starting with 2+1 isn't really much harder (only which tower people start at and move to on the second set changes), perhaps they simply decided they wouldn't let you dead end the mechanic that way? They do have a history of making the mechanics we see in the end somewhat simpler due to perceived challenges during testing. Perhaps their testers got stuck trying to figure out how to handle 8 slimes and they made the change to prevent issues?

    On caloric 1, why have same role as beacon go to other marker? I don't see how that changes anything over the original strat of just having static positions at start and those on the sides swapping if neccessary.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I originally thought the same, but the big advantage is having consistent sets in the middle. You are guaranteed to have a gp 1 dps, gp 1 support, gp 2 dps, gp 2 support. If you don’t do role partners, you can get both gp 1 supports middle and you need a prio for who adjusts. This is more challenging than going to the waymark if your role partner gets beacon.

    • @florac1995
      @florac1995 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HectorHectorson True, I guess if you do the center debuffs according to light parties, that would make it simpler. Alternative to solve that issue would then just have role prio instead but that's not what Papan strat does.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@florac1995 With role prios, you get the same issue, but for who moves first. My group actually uses role prios and the role partners at the start mean I will always be in middle with my co-tank; I move first, they move second. Without role partners, my co-tank would have to see who else they're in middle with to work out who moves first. Static spots still works, but I consider it the tiniest bit more challenging that way.

    Party finder beware for Classical 1: I got essentially yelled at for doing Alphas->north, Betas->south. Even though I personally love something to be consistent, I was very much scolded for not doing the "use eyes" method. Even though the use eyes method can lead to some odd scenarios, groups are swearing by it.

      The two players without unstable factor are required to pick up the tethers at the end (3 each). If you've had unstable factor, the tethers are lethal to you.

On a slightly unrelated note, I'd like to reach out to you for a video idea but didn't know how to contact you directly. I'm so glad he put the alpha north/beta south BPOG palladian baits in there. I despise the yolo bs that party finder does when there's an option to for everyone to have a "correct" position.

      @@HectorHectorson I unfortunately think it will be more used though, mainly becuase you visualize mechanics a lot better so for those unfamilair its easier to pick up then Rinon's way of explaining mechanics, even though I feel their way of doing Coloric 1 lines up better with Coloric 2 (due to similiaraties in posistions).
