OMG, thank you!! This is like the first tutorial out of like 8 that has actually worked! Giorgos Tsoukalis brought up a good point though, it actually does make sense. Has anyone found a work around for this?
hello i wanted to ask if i can combine two WAN connections in order to increase the speed and have auto failover? I have one DHCP WAN connection and one PPPoE connection please guide
Thank you so much for your video.I have some questions to ask: 1.what is the relevance of mangle? i was hoping you would apply the "mark routing": "To_isp1" and "To_isp2" to the ip route for each isp 2. When you set up the prerouting ,you selected the lan as the in interface, what if there are vlans? will you create prerouting for each vlan or just for the physical interface?
hi. thanks for your video. I have a microtik RB4011iGS+RM. But all the ports are in slave. Only ethernet 1 port is in master port. How to convert ethernet port 2 from slave to master??
How do you configure if more than 2 ISPs say i am going to use CCR1036-8G-2S+ and i use 6 ISP connection to have more bandwidth if all six are working and drop interfaces when a link outage happens? Need your help...
very very usefull video... can you plz guide how to configure two network as well, one data link is comming from other bulilding ( 172.16.0.0/16 my netwrok is 172.29.11.1/24 i want these two to share servers and transfer files
Hi, I'm from Malaysia thank you for your clear and perfect tutorial, I have a favor, I'm using Mikrotik with 2 isp(PPPoE) and 2 LAN, here I want to separate the connection between lan and wan, lan1 connected to wan1 and lan2 connected to wan2... also, I want to make a failover, if any ISP connection down, it(LAN) will automatically reroute to another one isp.... and if the isp backs to run normally again, the lan routed to wan that has already assigned before. I'm still new with Mikrotik and yeah I'm noob with mangle rule hope you can help me thank you
dah dapat answer bro?aku x expert network but kalau ikutkan ko ckp nk seperate connection tu,kena pakai VLAN aku agak. buat 2 seperate vlan for 2 seperate network.
this is not auto fail over , if the first ISP is down (only the internet and not the link) mikrotik will try to pass the traffic thru ISP1 , you have to unplug the cable to pass the traffic thru the ISP2.
So noob here, and I tried this with 3 WAN. I disconnected my modem cable (not the ethernet cable from the modem to the mikrotik router). The ethernet link from the mikrotik router to my modem was active. The internet switched. I am still curious to know if the above statement is true and what I have done differently that it worked for me. Again absolute noob, been 2 days with a router board. Using a hAP ac2. Two methods I tried. Disconnecting the Ethernet Disconnecting the Fibre/coax to the modem. Both worked
For information... u can use jodies.de/ipcalc to find out network, broadcast, 1st IP, last IP etc. For gateway ... ISP give you the gateway depending on their setting.

Thanks for ur valuable comments
Very useful thing sir... Thanks... May God bless you
Great tutorial, really easy to understand. Just subscribed.
where did you use routing mark to_ISP1 and 2? you missed it. you should have set them on the routes separately.
It's great techmonowar. Bonding with failover are working great.

What I can do in situation when gateway responds, but there is no internet connection behind it? I'm using LTE modems as gateways.
Is the DNS part required and why? I have DHCP on both WAN connections, it works, but I have manual failover.
Nice tutorials. thanks for sharing.
Great, it helped me, to solve my major issue, thank you very much

Great tutorial! Helped me a lot!!
Very good and useful tutorial. Thanks a lot
I am pretty sure you can just add one gateway and change the Distance value. You don't need all those steps.
@matthew earl Where to add Distance.. And witch steps from this video are enough for auto fail over to work?
great but when wan-1 timeout or latency high 500ms i need policy automatically change route from Wan-1 to wan-2
Good Manual thanks man!!! its Just works!

Thanks it was really interesting and helpful
Thanks for your valuable comments.

very nice,thanks
it is not working when ISP is down in cloud

Sir how to know what number to assign for IP address ex. isp1 115.127.34.91/29 and how to choose your gateway ex. 115.127.34.89?
