The way to avoid this is to raise the landing gear 2 inches prior to setting the king pin into the locking jaws you back the truck under the trailer without the king pin engaging the lock jaws and then you raise the landing gear putting the trailer down on the fifth wheel and then you back onto the king pin

So what cause the trailer to not sit level and rock and lean when going across rough bridges.
