If only the Egypt outside of the tourist areas was safe for tourists. I would love to visit, but I also know a couple victims through a group of friends who were executed by Islamic "rebels", or so they say. Aside from terrorism they seem to have a serious problem with stabbings. I talked to a guy who was touring Egypt in a popular tourist destination and was stabbed multiple times a couple years back, and he lost one of his kidneys and suffered serious internal bleeding. He is very lucky to have survived. Why did he get attacked? they aren't sure, he retained his wallet - it was most likely due to his race or nationality (white American).
I don't like when people make Egypt or anywhere else with some SERIOUS problems often centered AROUND foreign visitors, to be perfectly safe, nice, tranquil places. Egypt is beautiful, undoubtedly - but tourists are most definitely BIG targets there - and from what I understand, the whole "violently attacking and killing tourist" problem has only gotten worse - that's not even to mention the abductions of westerners ... it's not as bad as some countries in Africa / Middle East - but ... really now... you want your tourism industry to pick up? spend less money on ads, and more money on cleaning up your sub-human trash violently assaulting, raping women, and murdering in cold blood.

Love Egypt - they've tried to break her heart since 7'000 years and she still stands strong ... and Egypt will never break your heart. Her love is unconditional!!

They aren't going to bring shit like that up in a tourism commercial. Any of these would even portray Pakistan, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Afghanistan if they ever had such tourism to save in the first place. They'd show you pretty fields of opium flowers, a woman in a berka walking without her hijab - and leave out the part where they tie her to a post and stone her to death for it. Hell, even actual good tourist destinations like Cancun are having fights between MP's and cartels in the middle of the street - armored vehicles and automatic weapons included....
lol... human rights. Human rights apply to humans - Islam does not view anyone who is not Islamic as human - so says their holy book, the quran. That's why these places are the way they are - well, and Mexico - their excuse is that the cartels run the government in most locales.
