I’m in the same situation of a long distance relationship. I understand the feelings. The time you have together in person is the best time of your life, but then the departure gets closer and you start to go into a depression. You love each other and know you’ll see each other again, but it’s hard to know that you only get a short time of heaven before having to go another long period without them there physically. The few days to the week after the departure is hell and you cry constantly, missing them hold you. Even worse that you can still feel the phantom hug and warmth. My family understands but makes fun of it like “You on a call with him? No? I’m surprised.” Though they say it in a much more lighthearted joking manner. Being long distance makes you seem like a phone addict, you constantly feel for your phone when not on call because it’s like, my phone is gone and they’re gone until I can contact them again. And when you’re not busy, you’re almost always on the phone. I believe in you, you’ll get through it together❤️ Edit: 1 year later after I posted this comment, and I just wanted to update. Ldr’s are hard, they have their ups and downs. There’s times that you want to give up or doubt that you can handle the distance anymore. Stay strong everyone. The distance doesn’t last forever. And having had that distance there before just makes cuddles and casual affection so much better and special. It makes you appreciate it so much more. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The crying before we have to say goodbye is especially relateable as we can only see eachother for a few weeks at a time (with MONTHS in between) Going to see her again in 2 weeks and it wont be much longer till we move in together

Jesus, this hits home. I visited my girlfriend and we met for the first time - it was the best time of my life. It was so emotional and heartbreaking to have to take the train back to the airport a few days ago.
I was in LDR for 7 years. Its so difficult.Constant communication and trust is the key to make it work. We finally got married last year. No more LDR. Keep fighting, you will get through this.
Just remember, it’s not a “goodbye”. It’s just a “see you later”. That’s what helps me get through the hard times after visiting my LDR boyfriend. I know it hurts now but it’ll be all worth it one day ❤ You guys got this 🙂

I just got into a long distance relationship. It hurts not being able to be by them, but I know I’m lucky to have him. I can’t wait for the day he and I will meet.
This was literally me last year. Went to la and got to finally be with him for about a week. The days spent with him were so much fun but the closer it got to me leaving, the sadder I got. I found myself crying even before the day came when I had to go. The week after I found myself still crying, missing when we went out, ate together. Hugging, kissing. Long distance is so hard. I hope that we can unite with our significant other and stay with them long term. Until then, I plan to always visit him during the summer and to anime expo.
Update: it’s the day I leave my bf again. Spent 10 days with each other and it was great. Got to go to anime expo again, played games and such. That same feeling of sadness is here and I’m anxious. I don’t want to leave him.

Long distance relationship is always a challenge and always painful when having to leave to go back home. But if you persist, your long distance relationship will bloom. I met my husband 8 years ago and we maintained long distance relationship for a good 3 years till we got married. We have a beautiful daughter who is now 5 years old. Had a long distance relationship for 6 years. It was beautiful and painful at the same time. Not everyone can make it but the excitement you get when you can see your partner is crazy
So much love and respect for those who are in long distance relationship…personally I don’t think I’d want that for myself but I understand why people chose long-distance relationships when sometimes one isn’t even in the same country. Eventually I think long-distance relationship will fail because if two want to be in different places and have no intention for one relocating to the other’s place…there’s no future!
I’m in one, we are childhood sweethearts, we haven’t seen each other in about 9 years, we dont call or text since we have strict parents, we write letters to each other. im a single person but i feel what you feel because i have a sister same as your relationship my sister and his bf is 3 years LDR is very hard and challenging but overall my sister and his bf is a strong relationship actually they're married now 1 week past and my dad and mom also me happy for my sister 😊 i see on my sister eyes of tears.

This was literally me last year. Went to la and got to finally be with him for about a week. The days spent with him were so much fun but the closer it got to me leaving, the sadder I got. I found myself crying even before the day came when I had to go. The week after I found myself still crying, missing when we went out, ate together. Hugging, kissing. Long distance is so hard. I hope that we can unite with our significant other and stay with them long term. Until then, I plan to always visit him during the summer and to anime expo.
Update: it’s the day I leave my bf again. Spent 10 days with each other and it was great. Got to go to anime expo again, played games and such. That same feeling of sadness is here and I’m anxious. I don’t want to leave him.

So much love and respect for those who are in long distance relationship…personally I don’t think I’d want that for myself but I understand why people chose long-distance relationships when sometimes one isn’t even in the same country. Eventually I think long-distance relationship will fail because if two want to be in different places and have no intention for one relocating to the other’s place…there’s no future!
I’m in one, we are childhood sweethearts, we haven’t seen each other in about 9 years, we dont call or text since we have strict parents, we write letters to each other. I can’t wait until I’m old enough to actually start talking to him, I’m not young by the way, I’m almost 17, I just have strict parents

My point is…long terms relationships probably have very low success rates especially if either want to relocate. There is no point in being together if that was the case because there’s no future!
