Brilliant show - really enjoyed the insight into some possible January signings. Exciting start to the window and look forward to seeing a round up at the end of January
Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the insight into the possible January signings-it's shaping up to be an exciting window. We'll definitely keep the updates coming and do a proper round-up once the dust settles at the end of January. Stay tuned, and here's hoping for some signings that can make a real impact! 💪⚽
That could be a great shout! Calum Scanlon is a talented prospect, and giving him the opportunity to claim the left-back spot would not only help his development but could also inject some fresh energy into that position. Joe Bryan has experience, but if Scanlon shows he’s ready and can bring more consistency or dynamism, it might be time to make the switch. Competition for places is always healthy, and it would be exciting to see what Scanlon can offer with a consistent run in the team!
Great show and some good options there. Poku and Low a no brainer for me. Also recall Nisbet as can’t do worse than what we are at the moment. If Neil gets the best out of him what a player we will have
Appreciate the feedback! Poku and Low definitely seem like no-brainers with the energy and creativity they bring-exactly what’s needed right now. Nisbet being recalled makes a lot of sense too; things can’t really get worse up front, and if Alex Neil can unlock his potential, it could be a game-changer. It feels like Nisbet just needs the right system and confidence boost to show what he’s truly capable of. Fingers crossed!
The CAM is our first priority. It’s really tough to judge front line when chances are at a premium. I like versatile players but their preferred position should be CAM. I’m not happy with our loan players and I think they should go back. Then we should look at a striker who can play for the rest of the season and not just a couple of games. Coburn might be brilliant but I’d rather have someone very good and available. Neil has said that he doesn’t want anyone going out on loan until he has seen them in action. So I don’t expect anything outgoing until after the FA Cup match, because that could be his last chance to make those decisions
Couldn’t agree more mate. Been crying out for a bit of creativity in the middle for as long as I can remember. Must be a thankless task for the strikers at times!
Honeymen must go for sure keep sav and de norre .new mids who can score goals bring on sav etc to shut games down .when were in front .want emachu playing all games now .
Scanlon appears to be on his way back so can't imagine we will push for another Left Back. We tend to do well when signing players with a point to prove or have lost their way. On that basis a Centre Half in the mould of Cameron Humphreys and/or Dion Sanderson could be a shrew move given our budget; out of favour League One players with the potential to become established Championship players.
Hopefully Scanlon can come in and have an impact mate. Wouldn’t shock me if a bit of competition sees Bryan improve. Sanderson is an interesting one. Believe we looked at him before when he was at wolves.
That makes a lot of sense. If Scanlon is returning and ready to step up, there’s no need to stretch the budget for another left-back. Instead, focusing on areas like centre-half would be a smart move, especially given the team’s track record with players who have something to prove or are looking to reignite their careers. Cameron Humphreys and Dion Sanderson are both excellent examples. They’ve shown quality but might not have fully realized their potential yet. Bringing in players like that-hungry to prove themselves and willing to graft-fits well within a budget-conscious approach. These types of signings can often punch above their weight and add real value to the squad. With the right coaching and support, they could become reliable Championship defenders and provide depth and competition, which is always needed over a long season. Definitely feels like the kind of recruitment strategy that could pay off!
I would be looking at getting Fletcher Holeman from Wolves u21s. Was at my local Eastbourne Borough through their academy and made the 1st team. Young and hard working and finishes sublimely.
Fletcher Holeman sounds like a fantastic prospect! Young, hardworking, and with a knack for finishing-that's exactly the kind of player worth investing in for the future. It's always a bonus when a player has proven themselves at multiple levels, like making the jump from Eastbourne Borough's academy to the first team and now with Wolves U21s. If he's got the right attitude and development support, he could be a gem of a signing. Definitely one to keep an eye on!
Aasgaard and Poku are gonna be hard to get hold of, another option I'd look at is Luke Cundle on loan from Wolves had a couple of loans at Swansea & Plymouth already
Luke Cundle is an excellent shout! He’s a technically gifted midfielder who’s shown he can perform well in the Championship and League One during his loans at Swansea and Plymouth. His ability to dictate play, pick a pass, and chip in with the odd goal would make him a strong addition, especially if you’re looking for someone with experience and hunger to impress. Since he’s already had a taste of senior football, a loan move to a club where he could play regularly and continue his development might suit both Wolves and the receiving team. If Aasgaard and Poku prove too tricky to secure, Cundle would be a great alternative-someone who could slot in quickly and add quality to the midfield. Definitely worth considering!
Gallen out - you two in 👍🏻 Thelo Aasgaard would be a good signing tbf. Can’t see him being cheap, £1m+, be interesting to see where he goes if he leaves Wigan.
Haha, appreciate the vote of confidence! 😄 Thelo Aasgaard would indeed be a cracking signing. He’s got technical ability, creativity, and that flair to make things happen-exactly the type of player who could elevate a midfield. You’re right, though, he wouldn’t come cheap; Wigan will likely demand a solid fee, especially given his potential and the demand he might generate. If someone is willing to spend over £1m, it’ll be interesting to see where he lands and how he develops in a team that can maximize his talents. Definitely one to watch!
@DanielWynn-v7b if we can’t bring in reinforcements our loans would need to be looked at. Ideally leave him there. He scored tonight for Bromley though. So that’s a plus
Kamaril Grant could be an intriguing option. He’s been showing promise during his loan at Bromley, and it’s always great to see a young player getting first-team experience at a competitive level. If he’s continuing to develop his game and showing consistency, a move to step up might be the next logical step for him. His loan spell would have given him valuable match sharpness and confidence, so bringing him in could be a smart move-especially if we’re looking for energetic, versatile players with something to prove. Definitely worth keeping tabs on his progress!
If Esse and Tanganga leave ,then we should be looking at 30 million for those two, plus 8 million from Burnley for flemming ,that should give us a good war chest ???
Ye I think I mention that he is on loan mate really like his attributes and his strong point being his decision making according to reports. Unusual in a young kid
Thanks for the clarification! Lino Sousa is definitely one to keep an eye on. He’s a young, talented full-back with great potential, and getting regular minutes on loan at Bristol Rovers will do wonders for his development. Aston Villa clearly see something special in him, and this loan spell could help him gain the experience he needs to push for a place in their first team down the line. If he keeps progressing, he could become a standout player in the near future.
I’m sure they’ll be looking, it’s probably a bit harder to get deals from abroad sorted with work permits and stuff in the shorter January window. One of the positives of Derry Murkin mentioned in the video is that he will still have a British passport!
A CAM stands for Central Attacking Midfielder This is a player positioned centrally in midfield but focuses on creating and supporting attacking opportunities rather than defensive duties. Key Roles of a CAM: Creativity: They are often the main playmaker, tasked with providing key passes and setting up strikers or wingers. Vision: CAMs excel at spotting runs and opportunities to break down the opposition's defense. Scoring Threat: Many CAMs are capable of scoring goals themselves, often from long-range shots or arriving late in the box. Linking Play: They connect the midfield and the forwards, ensuring smooth transitions during attacking phases. Famous CAMs: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) Mesut Özil (formerly Arsenal) In summary, a CAM is the creative engine of a team, vital for generating goal-scoring opportunities.
Ryan Longman would definitely be a solid shout! He’s got pace, versatility, and that knack for contributing both goals and assists. Plus, he’s already familiar with the setup, which means he could hit the ground running. His energy and work rate could add a lot to the squad, especially if creativity has been an issue. Bringing him back might be exactly what’s needed to inject some life into the attack. Definitely worth considering if he’s available!
Have to be realistic, we're not in the market for top players. Dont have the money and we're not an attractive option,. No one will let their best go in the January window. Be hard to beat and try and get a few goals in the side for now. More time to have a proper look in the summer
Very uninspiring on the playes that were named in my opinion. I'm not expecting anyone that's is above what we can afford, but there must be fringe Premiership players that we can make a move for?
@DanielWynn-v7b I don't know my own club? So Harry Kane, Chris Woods, Adam Smith and now Japhet Tanganga never came to play for us from a top flight team? Plenty more than them over the years.
That’s a fair comment mate. If someone told me last Jan that we would get getting tanganga I would have laughed at them. So they should certainly be aware of any top flight players. Personally I think we have always had more success picking up lower league players and improving them, so I’m drawn to them types of players myself. But they should be looking at all options.
I'd say sell Tanganga and Esse to Wolves and just buy Bromley FC, a great investment. Then sell Millwall, the ground and the training ground for flats and start again or I just see us in League 2 in a few years, as we all become alcoholics watching a 0-0 with MK Dons. Count the consecutive passes next game, we have. You wont get past 7. They don't have a clue.
This board and gallen are clueless!! Harris walking out on us should tell you everything you need to about this club right now. Lagstaff and the Serb miles off it…. And you trust gallen going to find some new signings 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Agree about Nisbet, he's probably our best option right now at least until Coburn is fit again. But it's hard to be too critical on our toothless forwards when there is no creativity, we've managed just 10 goals in our last 16 games, it's dire.
You make a valid point. Nisbet is likely the best option we have at the moment, especially with Coburn out. It's tough for any striker to shine when the creativity behind them is lacking. The stat you mentioned-just 10 goals in 16 games-really highlights the bigger issue. Without service or chances being created, even the best forwards will struggle to make an impact. It feels like the midfield needs to step up and start offering more support going forward. Otherwise, it’s going to stay a frustrating watch.
Why do we need to buy (or loan in) a CAM when we have De Norre? Isn’t he supposed to be this attacking, master passer of the ball going forward? Can’t Alex Neil turn him into a CAM and save the club a few bob? Or could it be that De Norre is simply overrated and can’t do the CAM role? Yeah, that must be it. Another useless signing from Rowett, along with Honeyman and Watmore.
Yeah I still think we’re trying to find the right balance and position to consistently get the most from De Norre. Personally I think all our midfielders are a bit too similar at the minute.
We are a pony club . That nobody wants to sign for... We are league one team at best... Premier League we'd get ruined.. and the championship is to hard for us... League 1 millwall
