- Whether or not they're identical to the original spec John Bonham Promuco stick from the 1970s, I do find them indeed to be a very high-quality hickory 'classic 5B stick' that is a smidge longer, and with smaller more focused bead.
I hope you are all well, and drumming.
Terry
A box of sticks beats a box of rocks.
depends on who you’re throwing them at
I love thees sticks
I have been using these sticks for awhile now. I like the dia. and length and weight. Not to heavy for the size. I get all mine from Drum Center Of Portsmouth
This could be totally bs logic but I feel like longer (and heavier) sticks really help you play “behind the beat” with that Bonham feel. It’s like they have more ‘whip’ to them.
nice my man
Are your Bonzoleum sticks still available? Great video as always!
I remember in the 1970s our band class sold us new Ludwig 2B pairs of drumsticks. Surely being from NW Indiana, all the schools band and orchestra percussion sections were probably serviced by Ludwig.
Anyhow, it was unusual to get a “matched” set and even more strange to get a pair that wasn’t warping. Maybe the school I was at got the factory rejects cheap? Either way, I always liked Ludwig sticks best back then.
Ah yes back in those days. 2Bs, acros, cases. Yes, I think most companies tolerated more warpness up until I think ProMark came along.
What about your Ludwig 2a? Which has more rebound
terry, didn't bonzo use ludwig 2bs as well as the promuco 2as?
Yes I believe. The Promuco might have been later 70s. I’m not sure though.
J B used 2b and 2a only!!!!!
