I find modrinth to be MUCH easier to navigate than curseforge is. Even if it’s missing a couple mods, it’s a huge improvement from forge if you’re just casually playing

I honestly prefer that there will not be a competition. It was bad enough when mods were just split between MC versions. Then Fabric released and mods also became split between mod loaders. Now do you also want to split them between mod platforms to make it more painful to make and publish a modpack?

Never understand why people trying to hate platform for things, with which this platform cannot actually do something. If there's no cool mod on modrinth, what they can do? They already created some nice environment for mod makers, they cant just start stealing mods for them being published on site. Just speaking some thoughts.
I've pretty much switched to Modrinth entirely, only using Curseforge when ABSOLUTELY needed. I'll find alternative mods on Modrinth before going to Curseforge. I never have used the Curseforge launcher either, preferring Prism Launcher (and before that, PolyMC, which was pretty much abandoned due to drama) because I mostly play moded ANYWAY. Plus Curseforge's launcher is just bloat, despite me having a PC capible of running it without issue, I do prefer Prism's ~50MB-100MB of RAM used vs Curseforge's ~1GB-2GB used due to it being basically just a stripped down Chromium and a wrapper for the vanilla launcher (which already uses around 300MB-600MB of RAM as is). Granted, I also have a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, RTX 4090, and 96GB of RAM, but y'know, still!

Modrinth can even import packs, and clients like ATLauncher can export in a modrinth friendly format, so I got Create Astral up and running and launch from Modrinth. Beaut. Chef kiss. Modrinth launches SO FAST and is SO NICE.
Honnestly you can't judge a mod platform by the quality of the mods, since every platforms have the same, the only things that have to be considered are the number of mods availables and the quality of the platform
As a creator I prefer modrinth too, because curseforge is weird, like their new design not extends to most of the creator tools and the thing is that if I do something on modrinth it will work on curseforge too, but if I do something on modrinth it 90% will not work on curseforge, also modrinth pays you instantly for what you earned, on curseforge you have to wait until you basically randomly get selected into their partner program.

this pack has only like 90 ish mods thats considered a fairly light modpack, on average packs have probably a bit more than 100 mods, there are even some packs that go beyond like 400 mods that still run well
Exactly, I wish he would've went more into the actual modhost to show why Modrinth has a superior website to Curse instead of basing it off mods that are, for the most part, on both sites. As someone who uses CurseForge a ton, I must say the website even after their update is still objectively worse than Modrinth. Why he doesn't explain the actual advantages is beyond me.
