Bought a used 2009 , just road from Seattle to Laughlin Nevada and back (about 2,600 miles), what a machine! Weather changed on me. Heated seat , heated grips, very happy I had my heated jacket. I had a used 1150 before this one, sold it for $500. I think I will always have an RT. It’s like having a shaped ski, you think turn and it does it for you, and you can carry what ever you want.
This bike is road king. My 2006 just hit 48,000 miles..... All basic brakes and oil changes ......which I do myself.... 5 minutes to change brake pads....... Never been in the shop for any repairs.... Amazing !
Well that was an informative review, it’s comfy, the bolt heads fill with water and the tyre valves are awkward to get at..... l swore I wouldn’t watch another crap MCN video but l went and fell for it.
I didn't know the windshield was called a screen in Britain, I used to live there but that was in the mid 60's and way too young to have a license, having a 2009 delivered in the next couple of days, it has some miles but these bikes will run for ever well, I'm excited an looking forward to riding one again, had a 75 in 86, r90, wish I still had it.
This older (1 generation early) model, looked so much cooler, the current 1 with those fairings looking like a turkey vulture's head but with the rest of the bottom & rear end seemingly that of a naked bike, actually sucks for looks. If I'm going for 1, I'll sure be getting THIS 2010 version, even if I have to settle for, what?,like 2 to 3 horses less, but the 2013/4 sure has much more convenience features to it than its predecessor.
Perhaps the aftermarket windshield suppliers will see this review and develop a windscreen that solves the rain issue on the instrument panel. Lets hear about the new engine in your next review; i.e. fuel mileage which has new importance with the smaller fuel tank. Engine sounds sweet at cruise.
I hate how you guys dont link your videos for the end review you have to go looking for the damn thing. Im very interested in knowing what you thought after a year of riding it
Love my 07 RT. Where did you get the riding jacket ? Love the style. Only RT problem was the ABS - had to pull abs unit for $250 rebuild. I also have a 98 road king lol quite a difference between the two
has the driveshaft glitches been addressed that has afected all versions for many years ?? some have sent pics to consumers news with smoke from burning bearings coming out of the shaft housing only reason i went fj1300 yamaha instead of beamer
Why would I never buy a beemer bike... because I like to work on my own bikes and know them inside out. My Harleys allow me to do that; beemers are (by german design) black boxes that you cry for help to your "licensed and trained" technician. NO THANKS!
john smith , try riding through the Rocky Mountains! I've done it without any amenities like this bike had and it wasn't comfortable, so it wasn't fun. Bikers should have fun, and be safe, too. Convinced yet, friend?

Spot on, In the twisty sections I've left my buddy and his gold wing in the dust, hands down effortless handling especially when loaded with gear.

I can't believe the quality of this video. Sooper
Short and to the point...excellent.
Isn’t it nice to hear a review that doesn’t start with ‘what’s up’. Thanks

Right? Long term review my ass. That was a waste of their time and ours.

Very nice looking bike, great review guys!

Greetings from North Texas
The pannier pops off in seconds then the air valve on the rear wheel is as easy to get at as the front one, almost.

I'm looking to purchase a 2010 RT 1200 RT, any thoughts? The Rt i'm looking at has only 15000 miles

Redesigned in 2005......
