- In this video, we presented a step by step tutorial, in which we have showed our viewers, how to play games on Xbox 360 console using USB drive.
Yes! Now you can play games on your Xbox 360 without DVD's, also now you don't need to worried about your Xbox 360 console HDD space. You only need a USB drive and any Free style Dashboard.
Note: In order to do so, you will need a Jailbreak Console!

Any tech guy would tell you it's possible without a jailbroken XBOX. You just need to fake the USB to look like an XBOX harddrive, then find a solid ISO, that's made really well to look like an XBOX game.

Hey i have a problem the file i have installed is .rar only when i click on it it contains .isol how can i make it into .isol
I used aomei format and EaseUS to format my 2tb external hdd to fat 32 and my rgh won't detect it as formatted. It lists it as unformatted in the main storage settings. Should I attempt to format it with the 360? My only concern is that I won't be able to load game backups onto it to play through the external.

@Vegan_Lifting i just formatted with the console and it seems ok. Xbla games might need to stay on the internal hard drive. Title updates apparently need to be on the internal too. DLC works on my external though, it won't show up in XM360 for some reason, but it appears to work fine.
So you should be fine formatting it with the 360 if EaseUS or Aomei didn't work. I'm not sure if it formatted fully 100% correctly, but when I connect my external to my pc, it shows as fat32.
Also, I personally didn't end up trying it, but i've heard some people have had luck formatting to fat32 using FatXplorer, so you could attempt that if you like, but I never did that.
@@WallyTheWalnut Thank you very much. I will try it. Unfortunately I can't test this yet because otherwise all games will be deleted. I first have to buy a second hard drive to store the games. I was too hasty. I bought the console on Ebay and loaded the hard drive full of games until it was delivered. I had previously read on Reddit. The hard drive is Fat32 and MBR. I don't understand why it doesn't show up in Aurora's file manager. Maybe I will try FatXplorer, But the testperiod is only 7 days and the paid version costs 30$.
@Vegan_Lifting if it's just not showing up in Aurora make sure to set your folder paths correctly in Aurora's settings. For example, you could have an xbox 360 folder with all your games in it then make that a scannable path and set scan options to like 5 or something.
If you go to the file manager and there's no usb0 option when your hard drive's plugged in- then it's not formatted. To format with the 360 make sure nosysexit is turned off in Dashlaunch, save those settings in Dashlaunch, and then open the xbox guide, click on system settings, storage, and if your drive is plugged in it should detect as unformatted and you can format from there

I formatted an external 2 TB WD Elements hard drive on the PC in Fat32 and MBR and copied games in .xex format. The hard drive is almost full. That took a lot of time and work. Then I connected the drive to my Xbox 360 RGH via USB. But the hard drive doesn't show up in Aurora's file manager. The hard drive is only recognized as "unformatted" in the control panel in the original dashboard. What do I have to do to get the hard drive recognized in Aurora's file manager so I can play the games? I had previously tested the whole thing with a USB stick. It was recognized without any problems in the Aurora file manager.
Hmm.. actually one need to confirm by putting the USB in the console after formatting it in fat32 coz sometimes the USB hardware is not compatible with the console hardware.. am afraid there is no other way, you have to bear this pain.. it is weird. I have covered the same topic few days before visit the link down below.. so format the drive inside the console and make sure it is working on the console then transfer a game check again if it works then full the HDD..

@@gamespot595 Yes you are right. This is very annoying. I bought the Xbox on Ebay and was looking forward to it and prepared the hard drive with all the games in the days leading up to delivery. I had previously read up on Reddit. And it was explained that way everywhere. The hard drive is in Fat32 and MRB, but it shows as unformatted in the Xbox 360 system settings. I tested it beforehand with a USB stick (Sandisk) and everything worked. The USB stick was immediately recognized in Aurora's file manager. I think I have to format my hard drive inside the console. @@gamespot595 One important question: After I formated the drive on 360 I can connect it to my PC, put games (.xex) on and then connect it to my 360 and it will be recogniced? I ask it because someone wrote : "If you format with the console then you can only read it on the 360". Is that true??

Well its strange! make sure you have downloaded xbox360 games.. coz pc games also have ISO files.. extract it with the help of ISO2GOD software just to make sure wether the files is good or corrupted. If ISO2GOD software gets the thumbnail and complete the process then let me know.. but I think may be the ISO files are corrupted.. Also try with the updated or downgraded versions of current software.. the one i have shown in the video "Xbox ISO extract"

First of all if you wana play games on your xbox 360 via USB,you must have a jail break Xbox360 2ndly i don't think PC DVD room can read XBOX DVD.. if yes then you can do so by first making an ISO image of your game DVD by a software named Ultra ISO and then by another software named ISO extractor you can extract that ISO image to USB and play it on your XBOX..As I have shown in this videos that How you can extract an ISO image to USB and then play on xbox go a head watch that video.. hope it help..

I dont get any of this, i just bought a usb stick stuck it into my xbox and formatted it then installed spwce marine 1 had to go and clear cache a few times becaeu the install seemed to fail. But once i plugged it in and hit format it was no issue, i am however trying to play another game i bought of the 360 store and also download it to my usb. The issue is it seems to not download the entirety of the game. The game is 6.9 gb in the storage of my xbox i can see that on my usb stick there is 6.1 gb downloaded before it ceases. Yes i do have space, yes i have retried it. The only thing i am hesitant to do is clear and reformat the usb again as i may not be able to download the first game (space marine1) again as i said, it is a finicky thing any suggestions are appreciated
Try a different method.. dont run it directly from USB device.. after copying DVD to your USB go to your laptop or pc and make an ISO image of that folder you got in your USB ( you can use third party softwares like xboxISO creator or Ultra ISO) after making an ISO image watch this video of mine for further process...

What do u mean game in your mobile? Do you mean you have downloaded xbox game torrent in your mobile? or do you mean an android based .apk game and you wana play mobile game on your console? If 2nd is the case no its not possible coz i don't think xbox has any emulator for android as far my knowledge

On Xbox u have to physically change/add things to jailbreak it bypassing the security of cd rom and then u can actually use pirated games .u can only flash the software to change the look a bit. Not even worth it

i followed the steps, i even crated Games folder in my usb ( read it somewhere )
and when i go to my xbox360 storage it tells me to configure the usb, and when i do it just becomes the xbox360 kind of portable drive........ and erases everything whats inside

Well for that purpose you will have to use some third-party software and move the game to your console hard drive. Then the thumbnail of that game will appear in your games list. I will upload the whole process soon.. don't worry!

Hmmm i think you should follow the proper way while playing from hdd.. instead of extracting iso files you should use iso2god soft to extract the game and then transfer it your console hdd.. may it help thanks..

Yes you can but first you have to move the game from your USB to your console Hard drive and then run it from your hard drive instead of USB

@@gabrieliusjurevicius see in this case we just extracted the ISO image and copy all of the extracted contend in USB and run the game from xex menu from USB. But if you want the game to be listed in the games list then you in that case you will not extract that ISO image, what you need to do is to use another third party software by the name ISO2God. The software will output a folder. You have to copy that folder into USB and then from USB you have to copy it to your console HDD content/000000000/. This is path where you will move the game. I mean inside your console Hdd content folder and further in 00000000 folder. Hope it help thanks

You can do so by a homebrew app xexmenu if u have jailbreaked xbox.. so this way you can play and copy games.. don't need to install custom menus you will have ur default menu.. and 2ndly if u install free style dash in your usb it will work and when you remove your usb your default menu will be there.. so dont install free dash in console hdd install it in usb this way you can play games and also stick with default menu. Hope it help

Try to move your game to the Console HDD from your USB.. some times USB data transfering speed does not match with the game data fetching speed..

Unfortunately there is no simple method it needs a glitch chip to rgh your console and some soldering.. you will need a pro to do this job..
