Thanks for watching, also game three (22:30) I should have vialed in Svyelun on my opponent's turn. Also game one I'd thought I would mention that I trickstered the stoneforge rather than dismembered it, because I wanted to apply pressure, and the stoneforge wasn't as relevant because they got Hammer.
It's was a tough match. Hammer is usually very winnable for Merfolk, but you had some difficult and unfortunate draws. I will however say that Giver of Runes is a must kill. You may be a bit judicious with when or how you do it, but in that match the Fish pilot never loses to the hammered up threat -- we lose to the piece that makes it unblockable. It feels bad to toss away a Dismember on a Giver, but most of the time you just have to.
Great content! Something has been bothering me about Fish - I don't think the deck has any answer to Phyrexian Fleshgorger!?! Also, Infect may become a problem. Thoughts?
Hammer time and Deckloops are where Merfolk go to die as Monoblue. We have to hope Ixalan will give us more Lords, more wincons or even just good tricks and better Simic curve. Just two sets! March of the Machines and Eldraine and we'll see. We could also get some okay new fish in Eldraine though likely just ened up being more Emery's and help the hammer not hurt it. XD Oh me. Good tips though! I think I might cut my silver gils down cause they end up on turn 1 way too often and I'll consider Mist Binder until we get some new Ixalan 1 drop blues.
My personal theory is they'll print svyelun into standard to compensate for a lack of a (tier 2+) merfolk deck back in original Ixalan standard. But we'll see :P
Nice video, like to watching your videos, doesn't matter that i have a decade experience with fishes, still have any new idea. Currently i'm playing 2 chalice on main and 2 dress down on side, little tricky card on side, but in most scenario it works perfectly, u can shut down a lot of things without any problem, give it a try, and u'll see it
I did during Summer, but now that I am in school I can't make it live. Now I also don't have enough time to watch the replay, but I really want to make the live stream during the Summer again.
Mistcaller isnt a good card. Creativite has enough removal to deal with him, so he only matters with a aether vial on 1. Unlikely scenario turn 4. Against Living end its not necassary, because you have already a great match up. So the only relevant match up is Ywagmoth/goblins and merfolk, for a card that has 1 toughness. This isn´t enough.

Yeah, your right I should dismember the giver. Even though it feels bad, thanks!
I live a simple life, i see a lord of fish video i press like
Now that's how you lead on a successful and fulfilled life.
Thanks for the upload 🙂

Good match! This was fun to watch! Hammer is a very good deck 😅
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video. Keep up the good work.

hmm, yeah I'l give it a go. I don't think dress down is great since it is inconveniently at two cmc , but it does seem interesting.

Do you tune into Nikachu MTG live streams?

wasn't there a teenage girl, who won a GP, with a modern merfolk, deck some years ago? that wouldn't be you, would it?
No that wasn't me.
