    I'd love this car. Originally registered locally to me at Fletchers in Carmarthen Road Swansea. It was a huge BL dealership that now sadly longer exists in any shape or form. This is an extremely late run out 1989 model year A series engined Metro - Sunroof and Radio cassette were standard. On these very last original Metros the Fuel filler was re -positioned in readiness for the new 1990 Rover K series cars. My Neighbour bought an identical spec car in red in the spring of 1989 from the said dealers F40ECY.

    The 1980-1990 Metro was 1.0 or 1.3. The 1.1 was a K-series and came along with the Rover Metro in 1990. By the time this particular car came out, the Austin name had been dropped - officially it didn't have a marque name from 1988 to 1990.

      The 1980-1990 Metro was also sold in some markets, but not here in the UK, with the 848cc A Series engine. I wonder just how slow they are.

    • @robincook3367
      @robincook3367 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Richard-Bullock Pretty sure that isn't true. The 848cc was never available as A+ Series, and the A+ was developed for the Metro. Some may have been converted later, though why anyone would do that is baffling..

    • @Richard-Bullock
      @Richard-Bullock 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robincook3367 It is true. And who said anything about it having to be an A+ though? Some European countries had tax breaks for cars under 900cc. Which is also the reason why Fiat rejigged their 903cc engine down to 899cc.

    Hello, cool video, do you know what size the wheels are? also whats the offset and stud width. We have the same year and they don't make the metric tyres anymore so we're looking at swapping the wheels to get an imperial wheel, 13" would be ideal. Thanks for any tips : )

    You sure they put the 1098cc A series in the Metro?

    • @tomdrives

      I think so, I read it somewhere but now I’m convinced I’ve confused it with the 1.1 K series in the MK3
