I got mine in June of 65 and it looked exactly like the hardtop in this add. As I recall the tires were B.F. Goodrich Power Cushions. I was replacing them all the time. Those little 13 inch tires couldn't hold it on the ground! They didn't have a positraction in them so the one tire just wasn't enough. I have had too many cars to count over the years but this one was my favorite!!!

The '65 Dart GT was the also the first appearance of the name "Charger" in the form of a special edition version with yellow exterior, black interior, the Commando 273 V8, premium mechanical and trim specifications and "Charger" badging. It didn't last long, because the next year the B-body Charger made its debut.

The Charger name goes back at least a year prior, on the 1964 concept, which was actually just a modified Polara.
The Ramcharger name goes back even further, to 1959, first used on a '49 Plymouth business coupe powered by a 354 Hemi sporting 392 heads.

I need to visit Ruth Pardoll, Realtor, and see if I can get a beach house for 1965 prices, then I can afford a loaded Dart GT!

If they really had used those Cragars it would have been a huge hit. Think about it: The thing missing in mopar A body junior supercars was they didn't have styled wheels till 1970.

When I bought mine in 1996 or so, the only aftermarket wheels available were the Cragar SS, and they looked great on that car.
