My last trip in January there was an eruption 2 days before I left, I was glued to the tv & we flew right over Grindavik on the way in. I felt perfectly safe, my opinion on the Blue Lagoon I’ll keep to myself as I don’t want to start anything here. I’m completely fascinated by all the eruptions & have learnt so much. I’m hoping to come back next year for my third visit & planning to go north as well & maybe to Studlagil on the east coast. I have found that American Geologist Shawn Willsey is the best I’ve found on TH-cam, Just Icelandic is great as well.
Great video and love the info. It was mesmerizing to see it when we were there in march it was just on its 3rd or 4th eruption as we boarded the plane. We saw it coming into Keflavik. Prayers for grindavik we talked a bit about it in my Iceland vlog series. We went, had a great time so so many wonders and the real challenge was my wife and I got stuck in a blizzard in myvatn! lol can’t wait to go back in summer. 🎉
Flew in for our first visit to Iceland yesterday and went straight to the Blue Lagoon. There is a checkpoint on the 425 where the PD asks for a printed copy of your ticket. There is a hasty gravel road installed over sections of the cooling flow adjacent to the emergency barriers. PD was very direct to make NO stops and to absolutely remain in your vehicle until arriving at the BL parking garage lot. Had an amazing time. Thank you Jeanie for your channel. It was a huge resource in planning our DIY visit. Edited to say parking lot. Definitely not a garage out there! The BL is doing some renovations so you park in a satellite lot and ride a free shuttle bus to the hotel. You then make a couple minute walk to the lagoon.
Thanks for covering this. I'll be there in two weeks. I didn't want to worry about the Blue Lagoon potentially getting closed, so ended up reserving time at the Sky Lagoon. Other than that, I don't feel like it will change anything else about my travels. I do feel for the folks in Grindavik and those who work around there. Ugh. It's a real bummer for them.
A great place to stop - and safe!- between Keflavik and Reykjavik is the Viking World Museum in Njardvik. Easy to get to and they have a place to eat if you need one.
We are arriving this Wednesday and honestly I never gave the volcanos a thought. Then your video came up in my YT feed and I thought, "Oh, should I be concerned?" lol. Turns out, no. Yay! We are snorkeling Silfra on Thursday and the earthquakes you mentioned gave me pause but after some research it seems like it's ok to go ahead with it. Thank you so much for your informative video!
I should have emphasized more that the earthquakes can only be felt so far from the source and usually have little to no impact on daily life. Hope you have a great trip, thanks for watching ☺
Glad to see a new video, Jeannie! We are visiting now (June ‘24… 2nd visit), and were in Vik for 3 days. We ate at Hotel Kria on your suggestion…twice!! SO delicious 😋 Jokulsarlon was amazing, as you said in another video. Thanks for sharing all your tips!
Thank you Jeannie, for keeping us informed at all times. I will be there in late August, so we will see if we can get to the BL. If not, I also have booked Sky Lagoon. I will decide 3 days prior to our trip. Congratulations on your new baby. Take your time, enjoy your little ones. ❤
Very very informative. We are coming in 12 days and it was just good to hear your explanations. We will cruise out after a couple days in reykjavik. Planning to do the thermal bath in housavik. So excited. Thank you for all your great work.
thank you for the video Jeannie! I'm going to Iceland by September with my husband and we used your ring road guide that helped A LOT! we are super excited. and non related to the video... what lipstick are you using? I'm in love with this color!
Awesome, I'm so glad you are loving the Ring Road guide! The lipstick is a Maybelline lip crayon I don't know the color atm but I LOVE how long they stay on!
Thank you for your explanation. It’s easy for me to understand. I did not realize how your earthquake’s work. I will be there in September this year! If I see you on the street I will not bother you, but I WILL wave. 👋🏽😊Thank you for the update.
Thank you, Jeannie! I'm going to be there in a month and you answered all the questions I had about being able to see the volcano. You're the best! Congratulations on your new little one! 💚
We're traveling at the end of August and currently have Blue Lagoon booked for our first morning after getting off the plane. Keeping a close eye on the news and crossing my fingers that it will look safe when we go. But I'm also prepared to cancel if we're getting close to the date and it's looking questionable.
Big thank you for this video, it helps us a lot... We will be traveling on October... Do you maybe have some recommendations for other volcano tours? Love your channel :)

Thank you so much. This is what I want to know because we fly to Iceland this weekend and have a plan to Blue Lagoon. (Honestly speaking I’ve thought it would be interesting to have a chance to see flowing lava) I will rethink sky lagoon.
This type of eruptions doesn't produce ashes, the ashes of a volcano are the main reason to shut down air traffic. The eruption zone is also too far away to have lava effecting the airport so that's why air traffic is going on like regular. Only things that could happen are warnings due to gas pollution, especially children, older people or people with i.e. asthma can suffer by the gasses. The Blue Lagoon, which is much closer to the area, can be closed due to eruption or gas pollution, so that's something people should check when they want to visit.
Congratulations on the upcoming baby! ☺
Thank you so much 🥰

All the best in your expanding family. I arrive next month. Can’t wait.

You are so welcome, happy I could be a part of your Iceland experience 😍
Traveled to iceland 2 years ago and watched everyone of your videos. All of them helped w/ our itinerary. Including tips and tricks.
So glad I could help! Almost time to come back to see new things 😍
Great timing! We leave Wednesday and were debating if we want to swing by the Blue Lagoon on the last day.
I’m recommending the sky lagoon instead until this activity dies down. I put a link to book in the description!
Love Iceland was last there 2018 running the midnight half marathon, hope to come back next year.

Yes it's absolutely devastating for the residents of Grindavik. I hope you enjoy the Sky Lagoon, I really love it there!
Finally a regular video and not a short! I'll start watching your videos again.
Thanks for sticking around while I took some much needed time off to grow this baby but I have a lot of great videos coming up!
Thank you very much for this video, it's great to see you again!
Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you for such an informative video!
Love your videos! Love Iceland!
Glad you like them!
Congratulations on upcoming new addition!

I'm trying to decide if I want to fly to Iceland in 3 weeks for a visit. I miss Iceland.
Thanks for making this video!
Glad it was helpful!

Wow! Congrats 🎉you are almost at 100k subscribers!
Yes! Thank you!🙌
Heading there in a week with my son, and kinda hoping we'll get to see it from an easy spot on our jaunt from Keflavik to parts Southeast.
Have a great trip!
I'll be visiting late october this year. Hope we get the opportunity to see this upfront then
Thank you, Jeannie! I'm going to be there in a month and you answered all the questions I had about being able to see the volcano. You're the best! Congratulations on your new little one! 💚
Awesome, so glad I could answer all your questions! I know there's a lot of uncertainty about the volcano but I hope you have a great trip. 🙌

Did you attend the fireworks

Don’t even need to watch the video because I already got close to the 2021 volcano and threw a rock in the lava because I saw a kid do it 😂
Will you be doing a video on the West Fjords? I'm not talking about the waterfall, I'm talking about the town.
I do have a video coming up about the west fjords in a few weeks!
@@IcelandwithaView Yay! Thank you so much!
Congratulations 🎉🍾 🎊
Thank you!!💚
I will arrive Aug. 15, please let me know if I can bring something for the new baby!!
That is very kind of you to offer, but we are all set thank you! 😍
Was just there and the volcano is irrelevant.
Can I go somewhere to see lava?
I’d be gone buy my house
Why don't you mention that blue lagoon doesn't refund your money if they close for a volcano
I didn't know that, but that is a huge bummer!
ASHCLOUD COULD HALT YOUR FLIGHT PEOPLE!
So far that has not happened in three years of the eruptions
Trip insurance 😊
Congratulations on the upcoming baby! ☺
Wait, did she say she was pregnant? I didn't hear that in the video.
@@marissasabatino7538 No she didn't. She announced it 5 days ago in the email and Instagram. Hence the delay in videos.
@@marissasabatino7538 She mentioned it in her weekly newsletter that she sends out. :)
