Extremely frustrating, given that the Heroic Tavern Brawl has a lot on the line for its expensive entry fee. This time around, I knew better than to try to enter.
Was there any reason to just go with the alextrasza rather than the deathwing, i mean Brian did say that the second death was inevitable. Why not play your chances at three life with a deathwing in your hand? You know that Priest has no burst damage, but maybe that was the time to go all in. Timestamp: 15:40
the only reason i can think of is that in his head he already had lost. but playing alexstrasza for the battlecry and to bait out the death seemed so so strong
He was betting on no word of death. If he played Alextra and got Word'ed he would be left with 3hp. Even if no Corruptor next turn he would have 12/12 on board agains opponent that has 4 cards in hand. Deathwing can only kill one minion per turn and he needed 3 turns of face to win. No way he could do that with 3hp(+2 per turn). Not even lucky dop decks would save him. His oponents could profit from Dragon synergies while Sav had to play every card as it goes. He would be outvalued sooo hard. With Dethwing it would be the same but he woud have 14(+2hp/turn). Thats enough to take few hits in face and have any chance to win. The only chance he would win would be his opponent playing every minion he can next turn. It's silly to expect missplays on this level.
If you're gonna play a Dragon activated card play it before you play the Dragon so that your opponent doesn't know if you have more in hand. Great video as always.
its not the answer, just a way to fix the issue. the answer is that TH-cam has messed up their notification system somewhere and now some videos just never get into the subbox

I went 4-3 with this deck. I lost too a Legend card back player with Reno Lock, A mirror match, and a Auctioneer rogue. Loved the deck it played very strong in all matches I played.
15:51 in this specific situation, why not play alextraza here first? Based on his playstyle, he was likely to trade into the dragon first rather than go all face even if he didnt have the death in his hand. Seems like a bad read on the guy.
It really sucks that dragon priest will die in the next rotation unless the expansion brings in some more dragons altough that is unlikely with all the elementals and beasts coming out.
Doesn't really suck. This version of dragon priest is painfully simple-- play on curve, use discover effects to refill, repeat. Getting it out of the meta will probably be for the best, even if it leaves dragons in a weak spot for a while.
I do agree with you. Blizzard is hella notorious for printing either insane cards or shitty cards that will neer see play. I guess nobody can really guess the meta beforehand. Thanks for the reply.
