+Mudcon They was friendly and didnt attack at all, we was checking all the time with binoculars and she was sitting in a tree close by until we were gone!
This does more harm than you realize. You have stressed the adult into leaving the nest and the chick went into a defensive posture. This kind of activity and reaction by the birds is not something to be enjoyed.
Tim it wasnt something we was out doing for fun, we was checking the size of the chick befor ringing! And the chance they will leave the chic this grown up is close to 0%.
+RobbisHobbyShop I am glad to hear it was not a joy ride. By 'ringing' do you mean attaching an identification band? I fear one of the unintended consequences of the explosion in drone flyin will be year round 'buzzing' of all forms of wildlife by those who either don't care or don't know how the creatures are bein affected. I am sure we will eventually hear about about, for instance, deer run to death in deep snow.
+Tim Wright Yes we checked how many chicks there was and if they was big enough to put the identification band on! This helped a lot and we didnt need to climp up there more than once. The chick was marked 4 days after this video was taken.
Your lucky the first hawk that flew didnt come back and take your bird out with you getting that close...
