I just recently got the recoil 2 black and gold. Boats sweet, put a 5200 mah in it and for sure gained some power, speed. Run time is what I love about the bigger battery.

Is their evidence of the boat going faster with a larger mah? I thought that was just to increase run times?
@@geoffprince2258for example: 30c rate 2200mah means 66A max. discharge
30c rate 5000mah makes 150A max. output
lipo and esc need to fit the consumption of the motor/prop setup

About 7-10 minutes depending on how hard you run the boat

I've been once again looking into getting an RC boat, as summer comes around...
Between the Blackjack 24, Arrow (UDIRC), or this boat... do you think this is a much better starter boat and warrants saving for? Or should I finally get my first boat and just order one of the other 2 mentioned....?
I see an endgame of something like the Sonicwake V2 /Impulse.... I don't think I will be going for speed records, just tuning them to sun stable and having fun with them...
I think this one might look nice behind a trail truck on a trailer... lol
Tough choice. I've never run the arrow ( I'm ordering it this month hopefully) that being said the recoil2 is much faster out the box than the bj24 and the arrow. I absolutely love my bj24 out the box the bj24 has a speed of around 37mph ( upgraded esc & motor 55- 60) the recoil is about the same (37 mph w/included batt) but the recoil is much faster than the 24 with upgraded battery (better electronics)
The recoil2 actually seems to have a thicker more robust hull..
I recently bought this boat and like it a lot but after my first run my servo started malfunctioning when I turn the steering rate past 5 on the remote I have noticed the ruder and servo start clicking back-and-forth. Do you know why it’s only my second boat and can’t figure it out
May have striped a gear in the servo,

Sonicwake is faster out the box for sure, guess it depends on where you'll be running your boats. If you run in a small body of water recoil v2 is the best bet, get a dasboata prop and shell fly,

I found that a 3200 - 5000mah works good for the stock setup, 50-100c keeps the boat light weight so you don't stress the speed control.
And turn your steer rate down a little bit.
Oh trust me it's turned down to 30% sterring rate. Full rate is way to much even 50% rate is to much.

The sprint jet, does pretty well at about 25% S/R.
But being a jet boat, it turns super tight anyway..

Hello, I see the receiver is naked, I believe receivers are not waterproof, you got any chance broke the receiver? Or it has some waterproof features
I use corrosion x on my rx, helps with waterproofing

Excellent video, thank you! Would you recommend this boat or the sonicwake v2 for something fun that i'm going to bash in extremely choppy water (or something else entirely, cost not a major concern). Lake tahoe gets white cap waves on it and I plan to run it in those conditions, jumping as much as possible. It's going to flip, tumble and roll often so self righting is a must. Is this a terrible idea haha?
Yea the sonicwake may be a better choice for rough water.
Ok I am happy and sad at the same time. it is nice to see new boats, but seeing a flood of all the You-Tubers sponsored required videos these last two days has been trying for me to watch...I will say yours are the most exciting so far... at least you bash it to death so you can do your thing afterwards. A new boat is not a finished boat until it has been IRONCLADED.

What's the best prop to run for 4s ?
Oxidean 4216 (green 3 blade) or oxidean 4214 purple (2 blade prop) there's better props but would need to be balanced.
