Joe was my Dad’s bf. That realm of men were different. He would never take a dime that didn’t belong to him. Trust me, if they took money. I wouldn’t have grown up so broke. Honor was their lives. We used to sell Christmas trees outside of Donovan’s in Woodside. Joe, Frank McDarby and that whole crew were men amongst men. Honor, Truth & Friendship.

I laud your well researched material. Excellent channel. That being said; The Coffey Files isn't entirely accurate. Coffey pretended like he was present for Vito's interviews more often than he was and didn't give Det. Pergola any credit for doing most of the interviewing himself. He wrote the statements down and handed them up to Coffey. He would even take credit from Kenny Mccabe. Coffey was a good guy and an excellent cop, but more for his PR and supervisory talent. This is stuff I learned while researching for a book I am writing. That being said, excellent video. I hit like and subscribed.

He was basically the John Gotti of the NYPD lol. Great topic though. He definitely loved to play the press game but you can't take away the work he did/help he gave on murder cases (not including mob hits).

That was an old fashioned, side-of-the-mouth New York Irish accent. Jackie Gleason had it too.
