There are tenors. There are super tenors. And then there is Innocent, a once in a century talent. Phenomenal breath control, pitch, effortless restrained power, great diction, and range.
He's good but sorry his Nessun Dorma sounded flat and not powerful enough, he is Popera not Opera and a 2nd rate Bocelli at that. Try out Jonathan Antoine for a former BGT contestant with a better voice for "Opera" although I think even he would struggle to make the grade trying to audition for a major role at The Met or La Scala.

INNOCENT is the BEST on the show hands down! I felt heartbroken he did not win the competition. However he is greater than that and belongs in the finest opera houses AND ALL the stages in the world. He makes opera accessible to everyone. I went from being impartial at best, to listening to him on repeat, many many repeats. I would watch him in concert or opera ANY day of the week.
He may not have won Britain's Got Talent, but he is a winner in EVERY respect!! Many many doors will open for this beautiful gifted man!! You are loved by many!!❤❤❤❤
Sometimes it can be better to not win. If he had won he would have to sit in Simon Cowell's pocket for the next 10 years or so and do whatever he thinks would give him (Simon) the biggest financial profit. Coming second means that very few (if any) of those restriction apply to Innocent and he will have much more freedom to to do whatever he himself wants to do.

South African opera has become world-class over the last several years. Congratulations to all those involved in this massive movement which has been shaking the world.
I'm an opera singer and I'm fascinated by Innocent. He's a very good, close to a perfect lyrical tenor. He reminds me of a young Di Stefano. This young man would wipe the floor with the modern Metropolitan singers. It's not even close.
For the curious, this is the Italian version of the song Now You Are Free, called Nelle Tue Mani, with this specific arrangement originally sung by Andrea Boccelli (the group Miraclass also sung a very similar version). Meanwhile, hoping that this gets released on streaming platforms, as Innocent was just breathtaking.
I don't know what planet this giant comes from. Nobody beats this version of "We are free". His entire appearance, his voice, that control, crystal clear. Not normal. His voice can heal people, it's like a medicine.
He belongs in an Opera House. I hope that Simon will do what it takes to launch the career he so deserves. Greatness personified in his singing, his demeanor and his presence.

I have played Innocent Makusu's Gladiator over and over. Each time I got chills, I cried tears. He is truly a gift. A Star is born. I've shown my youngest two kids this performance they're 13 and 9 and they loved it just as much as I did. Innocent is just an unbelievably talented singer.

Cape Town has an excellent opera scene - mostly thanks to the UCT Opera Department. Unfortunately for us our opera singers are all so good that they end up in Europe. (Like Pretty Yende and Nombulelo Yende)

It's lovely to read intelligent comments here, knowing the origins of this song etc. From the moment Hans Zimmer picked up a pen and called Lisa Gerrard (I think that was her name) to ask to sing this, one of, or the most beautiful movie pieces of all time was created. Talent all round. I wish tis guy had longer to sing. He could have started the song in the quiet moments, and built to this climax that leaves is in tears....but he his every note perfectly. I honestly didn’t expect an opera voice from him when I saw his audition few weeks ago, if I was a judge it be one of my golden buzzers cuz that’s one of the level of golden buzzer I’ve seen, I had chills even more from him tonight 🥲🥲

I have played Innocent Makusu's Gladiator over and over. Each time I got chills, I cried tears. He is truly a gift. A Star is born. Cape Town has an excellent opera scene - mostly thanks to the UCT Opera Department. Unfortunately for us our opera singers are all so good that they end up in Europe. (Like Pretty Yende and Nombulelo Yende)

It's lovely to read intelligent comments here, knowing the origins of this song etc. From the moment Hans Zimmer picked up a pen and called Lisa Gerrard (I think that was her name) to ask to sing this, one of, or the most beautiful movie pieces of all time was created.
Talent all round. I wish tis guy had longer to sing. He could have started the song in the quiet moments, and built to this climax that leaves is in tears....but he his every note perfectly. Well done to him
