Joining Jools in this episode is New York's Mary J Blige who returns to the show for the fifth time to debut tracks from her forthcoming album, The London Sessions, which came about after she spent a month in the city working with recent collaborators Disclosure and Sam Smith, along with the likes of Naughty Boy and Emeli Sande.
From Southampton, a Later debut for rock trio Band of Skulls with songs from their third album, Himalayan, and there is another debut for Irish singer-songwriter Hozier whose first album is released shortly. Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg aka First Aid Kit also debut on the show with songs from their second album, Stay Gold.

The lyrics are beautiful and mean something important so was the music video , the vocals were stunning and so was the music and instrumental variation . The biggest part is hozier is actual great vocalist with and without the studio music specially one of the few who absolutly do not need any sort of auto tune. Therfore obe of the greatest song . I am sick of old people thinking only old music has the capability of being called a GOAT . That is a sick way of gatekeeping titles and appreciation from artists. Yes there are heck lot of better songs made before then they are now but be fr that does not mean crap for actual good music thst happen to be new .

I came across him way too late. I heard that song in a remix of some kind on a playlist at a friend's house. I LOOOOVE the lyrics and the vibe. And when I found out it just a remix. @Ratiger "on a high horse" is a common phrase in English for a person that acts like they are above other people, dating back to medieval times when people would be born Into rich family's with horses and literally and figuratively "look down" on people for being different even tho that's how they were born,hope this helps

inglishbulldog Martinha Isabel I recommend you avoid getting into sound engineering then. It's very clear the mixing is off. It happens all the time in live concerts, and if it weren't broadcast, you would see Hozier or the band signal to the sound engineer to lower/raise certain instruments. The bass is drowning his vocals.

Many artist do that to spare the voice and make sure he can sing the highest notes. Anyone noticed the low B string on his baritone guitar is slightly sharp? Probably because of the capo. Anyway, it's a great composition and tasty performance.

I first met this guy through my 16-year-old son and since then I realized how beautiful the music still can be.
I love the way camera keeps moving to show the whole band, they keep being framed so well next to, or in front and behind, each other. Also that blue glowing light, it all makes for great effect.
