Even if you’re not into IME, just listening to the composition of every track on this entire album- layers upon layers of individual melodies with each instrument…and the complex building of crescendos…chaotic and it all fits together perfectly, and you can’t deny this is a masterpiece. Way before it’s time. Quite possibly the greatest album ever recorded in my opinion. Grossly underrated and under appreciated. Still listening loud in 2021.
When this album was released, me and a couple of friends drove from Fort Collins CO to the fox theatre in Boulder CO and paid 10.67 for a ticket. 106.7 was a rock station in Denver. Was an incredible concert. We all ate some X. Floated away. Good times for this 56 yo man. Many moons ago.
Quite possibly NOT one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Good to see you're so passionate, but statements like that just make you look/sound so emotional and stupid.
I first heard this album in 1995 and was immediately in love. Every song, in my opinion, was absolutely beautifully unique. This is just one of them. One of the most underrated bands ever!
I’ve always said the same thing. I’ve introduced friends to this album- all blown away by this masterpiece and in awe that it was only their first time listening to it. Shame but nice to have it as a secret for a passionate group of fans.
The only way to truly enjoy and get the maximum effect of this masterpiece is as follows, summertime, blazed sufficiently, wait till the end of a thunderstorm, not beginning, very key, start dong, take hit, listen as music syncs up with fading storm. Yes I am, very much.
Soooo ridiculously good. Just now listened to this song for the first time in about 15 years and *ZAP!* I'm right back to the balmy summers of my early and mid teens. This and Not Quite Sonic were played in my bedroom about a bajillion times. Such amazing stuff.
one of the best Canadian albums of all time. its a shame they got pushed to mainstream by their label. The label subdued this incredible musicianship for radio hooks. They still managed to cultivate a little bit of this early essence as they went on, but this is where they shine. Too bad most people know them from One More Astronaut. Which, in and of itself is a decent radio tune. This album just didn't get the widespread acclaim it deserves. Dig will always be in my rotation
Delicious. Here is how you determine whether a song is worth its salt: put in on loud and listen from another room - when it still sounds important from afar, it's the real deal. This one floats and pulsates with terrific energy. Superb.
I was fortunate to see these guys at Vancouver casinos two nights back to back with my best group of freinds Nov 2023 they were sublime this song was in their first set. Love to I mother earth and thanks for sharing this beautiful music not sure there is anything that can equal the experience of live performance...awesome show!! Masterful musicianship!
Some of my fave memories of these guys back in the day... Proud to say I got to hang with both iterations of this band.... Once, smoking a few in their bus outside Reds in Edmonton... The next playing crusin USA with Brian in a Red Deer dive bar with Brian while my bud jammed with Jag.
Reminds me a lot of Summertime Rolls by Janes Addiction.. and definitely some Doors influence in there too with the Drop D riffs lifted straight from The End.
I only liked So Gently We Go and Not Quite Sonic on the first album (DIG) but the 2nd album (Scenery and Fish) was AMAZING!! I'm glad the original singer is back, and that they are STILL touring! IME and Big Wreck are 2 of the GREATEST BANDS EVER!!! yet SO UNDERRATED
Original? This song has a typical 1960s psychedelic beat, many of the same drop D riffs from The End by the Doors.... and sounds a little too much like Summertime Rolls by Jane’s Addiction.
@@Bartonovich52 WTF are you talking about? Oh yeah you don'y know what the fuck you are talking about. It is actually has a latin type almost Samba beat to it. It sounds absolutely nothing like Summertime rolls much less Janes Addiction. STFU moron
Lol. You’re so triggered I must have done you some personal dishonour by suggesting it sounds like other songs. Samba? You would have been closer if you guessed Bossa Nova. Have a listen to the rhythm of Tomorrow Never Knows or Time of the Season or Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine. Psychedelic.. as taken from Indian drone music. Try again you tone-deaf loser.
I listen to a lot of Van Halen on youtube. I usually can't listen to anything else for a while because my ears need a palate cleanser and nothing can compete with VH. These guys can.
That gamer channel MetalJesusRocks likes this song. He does vinyl (and CD?) collection along with games and mentioned this song in the comments of his video. That was back in the day when his comments sections were not so massive (because his channel has since got popular). Some of his co-hosts have their own channels and mirrored to VidMe before it went down but perhaps to other networks too. Not sure if BitChute is a thing they use. I think IME did a movie song ("Juicy" which is on this IMotherEarthCD channel and it was in XXX vin diesel or something?). Unless I'm forgetting, perhaps IME did not make music for computer games? Surely it would make sense to because it sounds like video-games music (rocking-rolling driving music etc.), so then they could appear on games channels like that and plug it. And no, I haven't asked him about that. LOL. Mind you, maybe there is some Intellectual Property DeleteArt13 reason why they cannot do that?
🌟 The Dig album came out in 1993. It's 2023. Please do a Remastered 30th Anniversary Reissue of this amazing album this year! Please "like" this comment if you're a fan and agree. Maybe it will help to show that people want this to happen.

Yes definitely before it's time and so underrated!! All the following generations can appreciate what I Mother Earth has to offer musically! 🎶🥁🎶🎸🎙🎧📻

This is the only album of theirs that I've paid any attention to. IMO it's their only good album!
...and...yes.
They played my college in 96. Always thought they would be huge. Record company didn't help, they encouraged the original lead singer to go solo.
One of my all time favorite songs. So underrated...
5 years later and probably one of the most underrated albums I've ever enjoyed
Its frustrating how underrated they are😞 same with Tea Party
Jésus songs not exposed til shea back
Big Red Love overall composition of this tune. I am a guitarist and love blasting this while playing along
It's not underrated; it is highly rated, deservedly so. Terrific song!
I’ve commented on this already but WHO’S here in 2020? One of the greatest songs ever!👍😎
2021
2022
Yep 2022
2022❤
2023 baby!
Thanks dad, for bringing this band's existence to my knowledge.
Possibly one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Quite possibly NOT one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Good to see you're so passionate, but statements like that just make you look/sound so emotional and stupid.
I absolutely LOVE it, especially this version, and I don’t care what anyone says
I first heard this album in 1995 and was immediately in love. Every song, in my opinion, was absolutely beautifully unique. This is just one of them. One of the most underrated bands ever!
Twas a terrific era. Music that had import and gravitas, composed intelligently and cleverly, with purpose and talent.
I’ve always said the same thing. I’ve introduced friends to this album- all blown away by this masterpiece and in awe that it was only their first time listening to it. Shame but nice to have it as a secret for a passionate group of fans.
I Mother Earth is more revelent today than they ever were.
The only way to truly enjoy and get the maximum effect of this masterpiece is as follows, summertime, blazed sufficiently, wait till the end of a thunderstorm, not beginning, very key, start dong, take hit, listen as music syncs up with fading storm.
Yes I am, very much.
Hahaha that’s what I’m doing right now minus the storm and I totally agree. Greetings from Oklahoma
Still sounding good in 2024. 👍
Jag Tanna is one of the most underrated guitarists. If this lineup could have stayed together and stayed this course they would have been bigger IMO.
and Edwin was just awful.
I Mother Oath
Ya a shame they broke up but a legacy to be proud of all the same.
@@stephencosgrove3475 Edwin's ego got the best of him, but damn could he sing. Bit of humility and luck, they would've been huge.
The 90s were awesome. We didn’t know how good we had it. I miss those days.
I wish I appreciated it a lot more at the time.
I Like What I'm "Hearing," merci.

Penta J Me too. Awesome lyrics, guitar, bass, drums, just outright good music. Takes me back to my room also.
It eocks
way underrated band
This is my go to song for grieving. Iv listened to it as friends and family have passed on. Thank you for helping me find a way...
It's just one of the greatest songs ever...let's simply agree.
One of my favourite songs. Want it played at my funeral
Request denied, Dexy. You're gonna get Come on Eilene over and over.
One of my most favorite songs
This is the greatest fusion song ever written.!!
This reminds me of the mid-90s when I walked up and down Queen Street West going through all the used CD and cassette places
I lived in Queen and Parliament back then. Right by the basketball courts... what a time.
I listen to this every Sunday morning. It just fits
my kind of church music.
It's Sunday! If you listened today reply. If not you might be a liar 😁
Loved this song for about 25 years now.
I've played this song at gatherings (pre covid) and people connect instantly to the catchy melody. "What is is?" they ask.

One of the BEST things I love about this song(other than everything) is that I'm one of the few(ive found) that really knows about it!!!!
Rick Dangerous that is so true! One of those great songs that many don’t about it blows my mind. The band Bug Head Todd is a good example.
Not an underrated song by any means... Underappreciated, under-heard for sure. One of the best tracks to come out of the Canadian 90s.
Unrated, not underrated. Jeepers! This is a terrific tune that was highly lauded in its narrow world, deservedly so.
I was fortunate to see these guys at Vancouver casinos two nights back to back with my best group of freinds Nov 2023 they were sublime this song was in their first set. absolutely superb! Builds and builds then "gently" grabs you! Great GYM song too!

Love this tune. I’m a Canuck living in Oklahoma. Played this and hip tunes at a few get togethers. Folks here love it
One of the great songs of the last 30 years.
Not a fan of most of the eras alt rock...But this band was top notch, deserved much more acclaim.
Never apreciatted how good this song is until the last few weeks, cant stop playing it. Phenomenal
These guys were so underrated can’t wait for Burt block party 24!
Beautiful song 😌✨❤️💫
The is probably the most perfect song, on a most underappreciated perfect album.
One of the greatest produced songs
3:45 is still one of the top times for a heavy guitar to come in.
Brilliant track ... Awesome 💜💜🔝😍😍
Love this song. .brings back memories that only I could believe!
Love this song:)
Emily Alison Me and you both. Great song, awesome lyrics.
Okay. I will.
I just hooked my American friend on this band. She sent me this song back. It's been awhile since I listened to it. goosebumps all over again!
Don't let music like this be forgotten...You have to share it.
This song will always resonate the Florida Keys with me.
What a beautiful and amazing song!! :D
This song is perfect! Count it out !!
Reminds me a lot of Summertime Rolls by Janes Addiction.. and definitely some Doors influence in there too with the Drop D riffs lifted straight from The End.
Perfect examples man. Great song!
There you again being fucking stupid...no nothing like the doors or Janes and summertime rolls could not be any more different
@ rhastaa
Go fuck your self you tone-deaf loser.
One of Canada's greatest bands if only they kept it together.
I only liked So Gently We Go and Not Quite Sonic on the first album (DIG)
but the 2nd album (Scenery and Fish) was AMAZING!! I'm glad the original singer is back, and that they are STILL touring! IME and Big Wreck are 2 of the GREATEST BANDS EVER!!! yet SO UNDERRATED
Great beach song at sunset 🌅 🔥
Wore this album out when it released. They caught magic in a bottle.
one of my favorite songs ever!

Saw them live Nov.11th in Edmonton for the first time and it was amazing! I’m a fan now.❤
Mind boggling. Love this song.

so glad I got to hear these tunes,l live back in the day! lol, awesome tune!
Love this tune ✌️🥰
The saturated, rich, distorted guitar at 3:45 is perfect....
Psychedelic!
Roadieguru exactly!
I haven't seen my daughter in 3 weeks because of corona virus...I love you, Erika.
To my alienated daughter. I love you. This album is good.
This song definitely has a Doors vibe to it. And that’s a good thing IMO.
2024 right meow.. still loving it ❤
Beautiful song 🎵 ❤️
Heaven.
Priceless tune...thanks..for the share...
Amazing song.
Dig is one of those rare "near perfect" Cd's-most alt rock was boring and pretentious, IME were original and so damn good.
Original?

Almost missed listening to this today. .
Love this SO MUCH! So far I go, pretty feckin sure I'm dying now. Finally done it.......
TIMELESS.
Its perfect
I'm going to there concert in two weeks
how good is this song
very cool lyrics
Nice, real nice.
This song defined my 1989, and continues to.
I listen to a lot of Van Halen on youtube. I usually can't listen to anything else for a while because my ears need a palate cleanser and nothing can compete with VH. These guys can.
wow super song
THIS SONG DESERVES A NOBLE PEACE PRIZE!
I do this all the time...
Reminds me of when the first time I heard, the end from the doors, has that same groovy beat
How did i sleep on this? This is great
How is this 30 years old? Seriously.
2024 this one stillll goes hard, but ...gently hard.
Amaziballs
This was ahh amazing album when it came out under rated
Coolest!
