omg the memories with my friends. playing on game battles. i would hang from the window and take out everyone with the raging bull and desert eagle this was the best rainbow 6 game imo
I think what really complemented this map and sold the game mode the most was the inability to sprint.. every yard gained with the package felt like a massive win. The strats involved based on the map location of the package felt so dynamic.. I just remember the anxiety you’d get defending the helipad staircase. The last second pushes and wins were the best feeling when they paid off. The pacing of this mode felt perfect, it was the only reason I avoided playing Vegas 2. Good times.
We were truly blessed to be able to experience this absolutely amazing Era of gaming. So many hours sunk into this game... so many friends made... R6V was a MASTERPIECE.❤️
Top 5 favorite shooters for me. And Calypso is the king of all maps. Great maps have come before and after it but nothing has ever been better. I mean, literally 90% of ALL the matches I played in vegas were Attack & Defend on Calypso Casino. And I played vegas A LOT. That's how you know it's the best map ever created.
I also remember paying this I’m not sure if it was a different map but the Americans made up this game called Mike myers, where someone was chosen randomly and that person was the only one who could use a pistol everyone else had a knife but you never knew who was the chosen one, bloody loved it!! Does anyone else remember this???
The other map was Casino vault, that we used to play Mike Myers on. Although I don’t remember there being any knives. The version that we play was on Calypso Casino and Casino Vault, Everyone had to turn their brightness ALL the way down so it was hard to see and easier to hide, 1 person was chosen to be Mike Myers, Mike Myers had a Shotgun (the 870) equipped with a laser pointer, and everyone else could only use a pistol to try and survive.
By float my favorite game and my fondest memories were online playing this. I try and tell everyone about this and not a lot people played it unfortunately. The inability to sprint and tactically moving to cover in between shots made this so much better. I’ll never forget I waited till the last second to turn in the package and a sniper shot me from the rappel ropes. Haha
Thanks for uploading man. I remember paying with or against lights out and tension, in public "ranked" matches probably? I was a Christmas noob in '06 on this game, lol. Probably like 14 years old at the time. After a couple months of playing I got pretty decent and met some brothers in Ohio who were pretty good too, idk if you remember a clan called "Rest In Piss" lol but I ended up joining them, everyone hated us because they talked so much shit and we backed it up pretty well, but, they're some solid dudes man. We ended up competing a lot on Gamebattles, and then the 4v4 MLG pro/endurance ladder stuff on GB in Vegas 2, scrimming pro teams and doing pick-up scrims and stuff. By then one of the brothers had changed his gamertag to "Goldrush" and the other brother was named Prablematic. I went by Deceased or Dead Issue, I dont remember which, or when exactly. We ended up in pick-up scrims with a dude named Ranger Status when Vegas 2 came out, an actual ex Army Ranger on a medical discharge for injury during a jump, and we teamed with him from then on. And another dude we teamed with all the time was Wicked Jay, who had played Rainbow Six 3 a lot back in the day, early 2000's. So he was OG as fuck. There were a couple others we played with off and on too. If we weren't all broke as hell we would have gone to MLG events, any combination of us, depending on who was able to play and shit/who had what going on at home, it pretty much didn't matter, we were nasty by Vegas 2. We didn't have excellent communication all the time, but we were super fuckin talented, great shots. We'd spawn trap anyone as soon as we got an opportunity. Lol. I always teamed with those dudes all the way through the second half of Vegas 1 and all of Vegas 2, and then years later on Black Ops 2 and CoD Ghosts competitive/MLG rulesets as well. I'm still in a group chat with them on facebook. Crazy how time flies. They've been knowing me since I barely hit fuckin puberty lol. I'm glad to see what people say about these games in comments on Rainbow Six Vegas/Vegas 2 videos. I feel the same way. I think as far as the skill required to dominate in competitive play with little to no auto-aim whatsoever, one-headshot kills and 2-3 shot kills elsewhere, and no safety nets like killstreaks/scorestreaks, the Vegas series was the best competitive FPS game series we've seen IMO. Some of the best MLG maps ever too, Kill House/Redux and Casino Vault and Presidio were excellent. I'd say all 3 of those were top 10 all-time FPS maps. Calypso Casino was deemed too large for 4v4 Competitive play, but this is where it all started for me though, like the rest of ya'll. I started out Vegas 1 playing this map and gametype all day and all night for weeks. I can see why people say its the best FPS multiplayer map/game type in general. Aside from how good the map looks (even in 2020) the atmosphere has never been matched IMO; a bright, lit up, active, warm-colored casino, with all the background noises and everything, but quickly turned into a warzone about 30 seconds in. Then there is a totally different, creepy atmosphere in the vault and on the dark rooftop. This shit right here is just pure tension and teamwork the whole time, especially if you're on defense, and the other team manages to get the intel out of the vault, and they keep inching it closer to the roof, lol. People will never know how many absolutely fuckin' epic plays were made on that casino floor to stop the attacking team, or to snipe the Intel carrier on the helipad right before they won. This game and Vegas 2 were just an amazing experience that never got old. I've never felt such a complex mix of emotions and involvement in a game. None of us realized how classic this game would be at the time i'm sure. In ranked matches on Vegas 1, I also have really good memories playing on Vault, Presidio, Streets, Border Town, and several other maps, just having fun, listening to a bunch of grown ass men talk shit, lol, people with no mic's getting booted. And now that I think about it, the fucking story modes were really good too, and open to different tactical decisions, and the soundtracks were awesome, especially in Vegas 1, in a very tense/epic kind of way, and unique to the level you were playing. Things are so different now. FPS's feel watered-down for the shitty players lol, or they just feel empty, bland, or cluttered, or flawed and sketchy.
lmao same. i would play allllllllll day and night with my friends on game battles. we were actually the #1 clan for a few months and always ranked top 10. we were called Men in Pink and all wore the pink camo lol. this was the best rainbow 6 game by far. this level, lvu campus, killhouse, casino vault etc all the maps were amazing. i was so damn good with the raging bull while shooting upside down from windows
AlphaFall hear. This game was the shit. Way too many memories. I remember they released RsV2 after this and it didnt nearly hit the same. Still remember setting up motion sensor c4 traps at the bottom of the stairs leading to the security office
omg the memories with my friends. playing on game battles. i would hang from the window and take out everyone with the raging bull and desert eagle this was the best rainbow 6 game imo
So nostalgic. I think it's also really cool you can hear people talking in the background the exact same way you would hear them in your headset. Good times.
Bro use to play this all day on my ps3 even use to put tape for the dot to get head shots and the clan battles was real they don’t make games like this anymore this a classic
Me and some guys from Connecticut would play this all the time back when it came out. We'd get the package asap and then we'd all hide in the bathroom until the other team figured out where we were. We probably started that whole thing, because we were doing it on the demo/beta thing before the game even came out. Imagine some noob opening that door and just getting ripped apart! Calypso Casino... good times.
Oh the nostalgia! The amount of hours me and my mates sunk into this game. We had both the defending and the attacking down to a tee. I even had a system where I would sneak passed everyone on the map and sit on the helipad and hide until the last minute where I would stop the extraction. Worked every time. Good days.
Ahhh brings back memories. There was nothing like pissing people off by nothing more than being on the defending team, holding on that back stairwell to the vault and hugging the wall just to pop someone in the dome with the XM8 or MP7...and they never...reach...the intel. Damn those were the days. Now we have Rainbow Six Siege Fortnite.
omg the memories with my friends. playing on game battles. i would hang from the window and take out everyone with the raging bull and desert eagle this was the best rainbow 6 game imo
great map. theres not many maps where you fight downward and its kind of cool how the second floor is where everyone meets and after the attackers take it the game has sort of a stalemate battle because theres only 2 entrences to get to the third floor.(maybe a third if elevator shaft took you to third floor? i froget) so theres this sort of slowed down strategic battle happens after the initial larger fight.
anyone remember 'MCKENZIE 4 LIFE' ? pretty sure me and my dad was part of a clan called 'DOGS' 😂 some of my best gaming memories were on this game, 16-17 years ago..
Myself and a team of nobody’s took on a clan and whooped them bad... they never got anywhere near the lower level. Amazing what team work can communication can do.. This needs to be backward compatible on XB1 and servers running again.
Attacking all you needed to do was trap the defenders in the slot room and downstairs. It was a turkey shoot for 20 minutes. The defense these guys are throwing up is weak
yo white sox idk if you remember me but i used to play with you all the time...thats weird...i was just looking at random videos of vegas and i saw lights out as one of the teammates and i looked at who posted it and the name is whitesox lmfao its Fanta. i was with you for IDK and A z
Really? Last Time I got On to Play It was Like I was Trying to Play Local. Exceot I had A Friend With me, So My Fault?..Sorry I think I should get My Xbox Checked
