I had the joy of getting to ride one of these for a summer. My buddy has one given to him by river rescue with a blown motor. We were able to get a brand new motor and replace it ourselves for less than $1k. We absolutely abused that thing and it still runs today, 8 years later.

They're not very fast. 35mph maybe but they're tough and nearly impossible to flip.
