Oh man, I hate being THIS person, but, I knew Dave. They lived next door to my dad’s cousin. We’d have lots of family parties there. Dave and his wife Loraine were always welcome. And they brought great food and played cards and horseshoes or croquet either us. He had a very outgoing and goofy sense of humor. He was WARM. His wife was really sweet too. His daughters were older when I met Dave and Lorraine but I did meet them, even Wendy Lou and they were just a down to earth family. It’s Dave Thomas, not Thompson. He was a really great guy. Very very friendly and he really did give a lot to the town and various charities. He came from a very relatable background. He was just a good husband, good dad, good neighbor and friend. I was a kid but he’d be at parties, this was in Ohio, he had a place down in Florida too. When he passed he left a lot of people bummed and broken. He was truly a great guy. I wish I could laugh at this but knowing him personally made it hard. :( Also, Wendy was never obese. Also The lady who burned herself with coffee? Yeah, third degree burns in her vagina and her vulva. Her genitals, inner thighs and urinary tract were destroyed. The coffee was like 130 degrees. It’s was excessively hot. This wasn’t a simple case of scalding, and the way she was trashed? Yeah, that’s publicity doing its thing. Look into it. Studied this one in law school. She never asked for anything beyond her medical bills. She became a maligned joke, an infamous example of greed but that’s exactly the antithesis of reality. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald%27s_Restaurants
It’s pretty well known he was a nice man. My boyfriend worked there and we all really loved that he was so involved with children adoption especially because my mother in law was adopted, and she also had to put up her first for adoption being a teenager in Iowa in the late sixties. But luckily in her case her child was given to their pastor. So she knew she was well cared for however she refused to speak with her ever. But my mother in law had a lovely relationship with her birth mother before passing last year. And you’re right it kills me the way the media and public smeared that poor elderly woman who was severely burned and disfigured. 😢
i worked for wendys for years and never made more than 8.10 even though i won employee of the month by 12 votes and had glowing reviews from customers and employees alike, they even framed me for vandalism to make sure i could never work for them again just because i wanted to do a good job on nights and the other shifts hated my guts for doing a good job i worked for jackson ohio wendys granville ohio wendies and i even worked at a couple other ones intermittently as a fill in wendys got no love for me dawg
For real. Though, the coffee was more like 190F or 87C rather than 130F. It was basically the temperature you actually brew the coffee at. It will give you severe burns within seconds of contact. You aren't able to actually even drink the coffee until it's cooled to at least 140f/60c.

Hey PM, I used to be a crew leader at wendy's in the 90's. The chili was made from the expired grill meat (not rotten, just overcooked and dry). It really is never frozen. It is trucked in fresh every morning. One of the reasons I actually still eat there as an adult.
When I worked there around 2005, the chili we made used the expired grill meat from the day before. We scraped off the grill into a bag and put it into the freezer and then that was the chili meat for the next day. It grossed me out.
@@syraxiathe store I worked at in 2017/2018 took any meat that had been cooked then cooled down and put it in a prep bin to be put in the chili pot on an hourly basis. We always had one ready to serve chili pot and one to add patties to.
Can confirm! It was burgers that didn’t sell in the timeframe they are acceptable to be served as a burger so we chopped them up and dumped them in a pan with cans of beans, sauce and bags of spice.
i used to work at the Papa Murphy's that's shown at 21:17. i remember working with the guys shown in the video. i remember they said they recorded this past midnight, when the shop was closed.
Please can we get a cartoon of the Wendy's employees watching training tapes that keep looping into employees watching training tapes as the scenes slowly descend into a hellish nightmare. Thanks Papi!
I've worked at a wendys before, and i remember my manager telling me that i can't let the customers see me drink, that same day i tripped on grease and screwed up my knee tendon, my advice is if you're not fast paced then don't work at a fast food and wear non slip shoes lmao
I wish he'd make a cartoon with all the great ideas he comes up with throughout these videos. Would love to see fat Wendy with a perpetual heart-attack and Papa Meat's version of Dave Thomas.
There are two videos that play during a Papa Meat Video: The Papa Meat Video, and the meatcanyon animation that plays in your head while you listen to the improv.
I can imagine him forcing the square block into round hole and getting angrier and angrier each time, rage never leaving his mind, then years later making burgers like AHA FUCK YOU NO ROUND PATTIES!!
As someone who does work at a Wendy's, I can confirm the meat situation. The burger meat is.....not frozen, BUT every other meat is frozen. The bacon changed to pre-cooked now and sucks, and the reason we don't have the grilled chicken sandwich anymore is because they changed the chicken to pre-cooked, frozen, and cut that gets warmed up in the microwave. The chili meat is literally old hamber meat that was on the grill too long, then soaked in hot water to get grease out and chopped up before being frozen.
I used to work for Wendy’s when I was in high school and we would use the old and crusty hamburger patties to make the chili at the end of the night. With that knowledge it was still pretty good chili.
Hunter, I know you’re a busy man and you’ll probably never see this, but I just wanted to say I look forward to all these videos. My fuckin life sucks right now and these Papa Meat vids and the occasional Meatcanyon are what keep me going. Thank you 🙏
My first ever job was at a Wendy's, and I can confirm the patties aren't (in 2007) frozen & were made from fresh Canadian beef. Having also worked as a regional manager at McDonald's in 2018, Wendy's is 100% better quality. The only thing I ever get at McD's anymore, is their coffee.
The song that was in the background of him screaming about the court case is "In the House, In a Heartbeat - Slowed + Bass Boosted" If anyone else was also looking for it.

@@AMetalWorld i'm aware of what he said, regardless a theory like that says quite alot if you've seen so far into the show and have only just heard the theory then. it'd be the same as someone mentioning the breaking bad ending theory as "that one theory where walter survives and is arrested"
@@DarkSlasher36 Sorry, but you’re wrong. What he said tells you nothing about how it ends. Thats why it’s so controversial. It’s the most open-ended series finale in the history of television. I felt so bad & apologized to him, but he was immediately super sympathetic & even left me a tip. Thank God for that man & his kindness lol.
21:10 Ok so I have a story. I used to work at starbucks. But, I do have asd and brain damage. I have a hard time with different textures on my fingers and stuff, and loud noises, and I have an eating disorder so even milk is heavy. well, they literally exclusively put me on register, or during rush they would put me in the back to drain cold brew and make the next batch. Literally for the whole 2 years I worked there, I was never put on coffee making duty with the espresso machines, unless like no one was there. Otherwise, I would clean, stock milk, and do register. People did treat me like I wasnt smart. I complained to the manager because people talked to me like I was a kid despite being an adult. But, it didnt help at all. I had to quit, but yeah I had that experience.
@LagrangePoint0 I know I'm not op, but ASD is autism spectrum disorder. In the US, they changed the diagnosises of "aspergers" or "autism" to just autism spectrum disorder.
True story. I met Dave Thomas in seminole florida back in the 80's as a kid. used to seem him on commercials all the time and knew his face. Gave us and anyone in his sight free meals and chatted with us. He was really a pretty cool guy.

the entire plot of joker 2 is actually just a wendys training video lmao
:(
Also, Wendy was never obese.

The lady who burned herself with coffee?
Yeah okay buddy
Okay Wendy we hear you

She said I can dispute it with the lab. The receptionist gave me the number , I said I'm innocent and I'll be back. Worked at Pizza Hut in highschool, and yea... That cheese was hand thrown on. We had cups. We were supposed to use cups. We didnt use cups.
I worked at little ceasars back in the 90’s and same thing….never used accurate tools to measure…just eyeballed it……even 30+ yrs later as a plumber, i rarely use a tape measure, most of the time i just eyeball it and I wear glasses😂😂😂…….but yeah u get the idea
This is now my favorite papa meat video. Every joke in here felt like they were handcrafted to hit me perfectly. Great video guys, my ribs hurt
Whoever edits these videos need a raise.
i used to work at the Papa Murphy's that's shown at 21:17. i remember working with the guys shown in the video. i remember they said they recorded this past midnight, when the shop was closed.

There are two videos that play during a Papa Meat Video:
The Papa Meat Video,
and the meatcanyon animation that plays in your head while you listen to the improv.
Made my mom watch this since she worked at Wendy’s in the 80s. She’s like I remember the chili song! Always had to do figure 8s
Just went on break was contemplating amateur arsonry but your video has changed my mind thanks meat
The square burger on the round bun makes me think that Dave Thompson was the kind of kid that grew up putting the square peg in the round hole.
I can imagine him forcing the square block into round hole and getting angrier and angrier each time, rage never leaving his mind, then years later making burgers like AHA FUCK YOU NO ROUND PATTIES!!
@@horrorunicorn Lol!
That's right, it goes in the square hole!
Absolutely crying laughing at your Dave, Chrischan, and Wendy heart-attack impressions.
Wendy’s chili is my fave and I could care less if it’s old hamburger lol
Honestly better than throwing them out like every restaurant. Plus it ain't bad for fast food chili.
nasty old funky chili meat drawer at the end of the night. i hated that shit

Their coffee is legit
I don't know if I grew up or McDonald's got nasty but apparently McDonald's got nasty, which is great for me bc I'm not fat anymore lol
12:45 "you're gonna be a st✨r, Wendy!!" hits on an existential kinda level.

Best thing ever was going through a Wendy's drive thru & one of the employees was dressed as Wendy out back smoking a cigarette & looking absolutely miserable 😅

I’m surprised restaurants haven’t been begging Hunter to work for them so he can *fire* up the grill
and also control it you dont need ovens anymore
He can control fire, so.... Hunter is the grill😂😂😂😂
Hunter is never going to escape the firebender allegations.
I think that old yellow cup logo just unlocked some childhood memories.
Their kids burgers always had too much ketchup and mustard...
The nuggets were so much better back then, though. The breading was less grainy and the meat so juicy.
I really believe that Papa would 100% use the eventual invention of time travel to go back and be in a Wendy's training video and nothing else
25 years, 25 years of being alive and no one had managed to spoil the soprano's for me until today... when i'm halfway through season 4.
What he said isn’t what happens. What he said is a fan theory about what happened. There is no finite ending. That’s why people still theorize about it, which is what he’s referencing here
@@AMetalWorld i'm aware of what he said, regardless a theory like that says quite alot if you've seen so far into the show and have only just heard the theory then. it'd be the same as someone mentioning the breaking bad ending theory as "that one theory where walter survives and is arrested"
Aw man that sucks
@@DarkSlasher36 Sorry, but you’re wrong. What he said tells you nothing about how it ends. Thats why it’s so controversial. It’s the most open-ended series finale in the history of television. Just letting you know you have nothing to worry about, and it will have no bearing on the context given to you whenever you finally watch it. So don’t worry, enjoy the rest of the show dude
@AMetalWorld oh cool thanks for the reassurance then and I will the shows genuinely become one of my favourites.
I used to work at Wendy's. I was told from the training video. The patties are square to show that they don't cut corners like the competitors.
I actually had the same idea 💡 when watching the video, I thought to myself how to advertise square patties like DonnDraper would in madmen..”we don’t cut corners here at Wendy’s..”

The re-21:30
I'm sorry that happened to you!
Your a victim!!!
Sorry but, what is asd?
@LagrangePoint0 I know I'm not op, but ASD is autism spectrum disorder. In the US, they changed the diagnosises of "aspergers" or "autism" to just autism spectrum disorder.

True story. I met Dave Thomas in seminole florida back in the 80's as a kid. used to seem him on commercials all the time and knew his face. It was sunday evening and ge was just hanging out at the store and i ran in and grabbed his leg to give him a hug. He was so nice in person. Gave us and anyone in his sight free meals and chatted with us. He was really a pretty cool guy.

24:40 I've never understood how that is legal. How is it legal to doctor food up with non edible things to make it look better in a picture? That makes no sense to me.
Agreed. Technically its false advertisement
Been saying this for years
@@xMaGuSx888 in Japan there are laws that make it so the advert has to match what’s provided. Japanese candy tends to have a “life sized” picture on the packaging that, yes, looks like the stuff you actually get.
