What will happen with lionheart..... dont loose momentum entertaining silly video requests. Stay focused on revelant things... but if you mist have your question answered...GSPs gyno gut would beat Silva's gas station dick pills.... but there both cheaters. So Who cares

    I settle this argument with myself by imagining how well I’d fight each of the fighters. I think Silva would take my life in about 6 seconds. It would be violent and painful. On the otherhand I think that GSP would also kill me in about 6 seconds… but at least the last words I’d hear would be a calm “shhh… go to sleep.” What a gentlemen. I’m going to choose death by GSP. Lol

    Honestly I think a part of what makes everyone pick gsp is that he left on top and came back and left again while on top. Anderson stuck around for so long we saw him regress so we see him as that guy more than we could see gsp as that guy. Not saying Anderson wins but I think if it was in 2010 it would have been a war and a absolute toss up

    • @jakeallstar1
      @jakeallstar1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Na I think it's because in Anderson's prime he was only getting threatened by wrestlers, and gsp is known for having the very best wrestling in all of mma.

      @jms7265 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It’s ok I’ll do it for you: *Anderson Silva wins.*
      GSP definitely has the abilities to pull off a victory however Styles makes fights and I’m sure Silva’s height, weight, and striking will cause him way more trouble than Carlos Condit. The reason Silva wins is due to his size here and not because his BJJ is too good or his striking too good.

      He left depressed after Hendricks. We all thought he lost that fight; he seemingly did, as well.
      Eventually, he came back and grabbed the title from, no offense, a weak Bisping. Neither looked fantastic.
      Yea, I’d take GSP. I don’t like the guy, but he’s a great wrestler, and with his athleticism, would prove difficult to Silva.

    • @jakeallstar1
      @jakeallstar1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@terronymusbraddock2350 to be fair the behind the scenes thing was that steroids were rampant and GSP was scared of losing to a juice head (like Hendricks) when he was probably clean. GSP tried to get him and his opponents to enter usada testing. To my knowledge none of them did.
      And it's a fair worry considering Hendricks arguably won their fight and then looked TERRIBLE as soon as usada came to the ufc.

      @@taraishot100 If you have ever went to a really big UFC event live you would know what he is talking about. My first live UFC was GSP winning the title a 2nd time by dominating Matt Serra in front of a Montreal hometown (the first UFC ever in Canada). The packed stadium flooded the streets screaming GSP! GSP! like a giant mass horde. Every bar was invaded by the after party from the Bell Center. The elevators in the Mariott were all stalled/broken due to overcapacity to the horde. Ran into Jason McDonald on the stairs, patted him on the arm and said "way to go" w/o realizing Joe Doerksen almost twisted his arm off. Congratulated Kenny Florian on his first night as a commentator as he was talking to Bruce Buffer (who I had to compliment on his sports memorabilia collection). The crowd was the LOUDEST FUCKING CROWD! Ariana Celeste is so tiny in person. Cute. Dan Henderson's face is flat from punches, his cheek bones rough. Toughest dude ever. Talked to Matt Hume and Andre Pedernaries (congratulated him on beating Rumina Sato). My friend had a chat with Michael Bisping. Saw the UFC debut of Cain Velasquez. Completely destroyed a guy named Brad Morris. Like less than 60 seconds. My favorite interaction was with Eddie Bravo. I basically turned into a free hype-man. Shook Eddie's hand, said "way to tap out Royler!". "Thanks, man", he replied. Then I announced to a nearby crowd of UFC fans, "HEY GUYS! THIS IS THE MAN THAT TAPPED OUT ROYLER GRACIE" and the crowd rushed him for autographs. Sorry Eddie. And to think, 2 different dates turned down a free ticket. Either something is really wrong with me or something is wrong with women.

      I think gsp loses almost 10 out of 10 times to be honest. The size difference is too huge. And silva’s striking prowess is completely on a different level. Gsp would be forced to use his takedowns and he wouldn’t be successful at it against a fully fit Silva either. Gsp prolly gonna get knocked out by 2nd round or smg like that.

    • @jamesdjl4359
      @jamesdjl4359 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@orange_penis i watched the GOAT Chael Sonnen take Silva down and pummel him for the majority of 5 rounds. Chael has publicly said (on many occasions) that Georges was stronger than him when they grappled. "Freakish strength from toe to fingertip". Of course Uncle Chael could be exaggerating, as he sometimes does. But, I don't think GSP would have any problem taking Silva down and Pummeling him. Silva would have to finish this on the feet and he'd have to do it early. Which he clearly could do, and I wouldn't be too surprised.
      If Georges starts getting takedowns early, he'll inevitably wear Silva down.
      I honestly couldn't pick a winner because I watched both of their careers from start to finish (Yes I'm getting old now). With a Gun to my head though, I'd probably pick GSP. Gsp was much more versatile, he'd never gas, and he'd simply grind him into fatigue.

    The thing I feel with GSP is, he had that extraordinary level change ability, the shoot-box. Anderson was clearly the better striker but had a problem with wrestlers and I feel like GSP's jab and karate combined with his brilliant, explosive wrestling could have caught him off guard. Naturally though, Anderson's striking would only have to touch GSP and he could collapse him. The idea he KO'd TRT Belfort in his prime, KO'd a far, far bigger man in Forrest (at light heavyweight, no less), among many, many others with one gentle straight, is just ludicrous. We saw how GSP was able to take 6'1, 185lbs Bisping down at will, and I reckon GSP's explosive takedowns and wrestling could have made the difference. At the same time though, we saw how Anderson subbed Chael in the clutch despite being mauled but at the same time, GSP clearly had far, far better BJJ than Chael. I'd say it goes:
    Striking: Anderson>GSP
    Wrestling: GSP>Anderson
    BJJ: Probably about equal.
    Looking at this, I can only say it's a 50/50 really, imposition of styles.
    You can tell this was a passion project for Bisping, Bisping's energy and analysis on this was so awesome to see.

Anderson also had difficulty defeating different eras of fighters where as GSP defeated fighters of past, contemporary, and future(relative to his time in the sport) eras. Saying that I think Silva beat Bisping in their fight. If Bisping had done a Sugar Ray and admitted he lost that fight against Silva, I think this would have been the most objective analysis of any fight I’ve ever heard but I understand his pride won’t let him. I agree that Silva beats GSP, I think because of the size and length of Silva, coupled with the genius matrix level of skill of Silva. That front kick he knocked out Belfort with is very underrated and GSP’s size/height makes him perfect for it. Then Silva’s long arms and speed and movement would have been a bit too much for GSP. As good as he was. I’m not completely writing off GSP because I think he was a very good strategist and may have found the key to unlocking the matrix but I just think peak Silva was something we will never ever see again.

    Bisping, stop it already!
    1. Anderson wanted and asked to fight GSP in a super fight when they were both champions, and in their prime, and both Dana and GSP denied the fight. They knew the deal!
    2. Silva was so good, back then, you couldn't get past 5th rank at MW to fight him for his title, as Hendo owned you and your jaw, with his left hook (see the the life-time high-lite KO), and Anderson owned Hendo.
    3. If you re-watch your fight with Silva, you actually LOST that fight, as Silva hit you with a 'flying knee" with 2 secs left in the 3rd round, and concussed you. You could barely stand up, for the 4th rnd!
    4.He then allowed you to get back in the fight, not mounting any form of an offense, for the ENTIRE 5-mins of the 4th rnd, which allowed you time to recover. Then let you win the 5th rnd, by flailing punches with you, when we all knew he was a master-counter puncher.
    5. Don't forget, Dana then allowed an OPPORTUNISTIC GSP to "come-back" to have a "super-fight with you, but NOT Anderson, who he knew could beat GSP, while both were in their prime.
    6. A cheesy GSP, then reneged on his contractual promise to defend the (interim) MW belt against Whittaker, who was the real MW champion at the time. FEAR, just like when Usman asked him to fight, but yet, was seeking a fight with a smaller Khabib instead.
    Yes, Bisping, you can FOOL these new casual mma fans, with this BS, but not us hardcore mma fans, who been here from the beginning. We saw it all, and know the deal.

    Good topic and video, Mike! I do feel that Anderson would have the edge at 185. If they had done it at a catch weight of 177.5, I'd lean more toward GSP.
    In terms of the mental aspect, I would give the edge to GSP. That guy has come back after many hardships:
    1) submission to Hughes
    2) KO to Serra
    3) Knee surgery; out for 20 months, then returns to defeat interim champ, Condit, despite getting that head kick and being in all types of trouble.
    4) Return after 4 years to a bigger division to defeat the Count
    I can't count out GSP... he just finds a way. Plus, I've not seen a glaring hole in GSP's game like I have with Anderson (wrestling). Even though Anderson defeated Chael in grand fashion, he was man-handled in his prime for over 20 minutes of a fight. I've never seen anyone do that to GSP for 20 minutes.
    If GSP and Anderson fight 10 times in their prime, even at 185, I think Georges wins 6 of those.

      But it doesn't. Silva fought Chael with a broken rib. And also, look at the damage he took and how he was at the end of the fight. Completely unchanged. Silva could take A LOT of damage. Just look at his second fight with Weidman. I mean, Weidman took him down and after the first round he had a broken nose and blood on his face and Silva was on his back the whole round. Silva would've won that fight as easily as he won against Chael the second time if the leg braking didn't occur. I mean.. despite Weidman being a lot stronger than GSP, according to GPS himself, he couldn't damage Silva. And I'm not talking about BS Silva putting his face on other fighters fists. I'm talking about the second fight.
      Weidman is stronger than GSP and Chael didn't damage Silva at all. Silva damaged Weidman while on his back an entire round and was unchanged by the shots.
      Also Silva is BJJ black belt under Minotauro, never forget that. GSP couldn't submit the Nogueira's brothers if he dreamed about it, and Silva was at the time their best. Damian Maia who has an absurdly better ground game couldn't submit Silva.
      Silva in his prime was a wizard. GSP is my favorite fighter of all time alongside Demetrius Johnson, but it's an easier win for Silva than people would like to admit.

      it's important to note the difference in competition between WW & MW. WW flatout had more talent, it was a significantly harder division. Whereas mw was incredibly shallow, its talent pool didn't get deeper until the tail end of Andersons reign. It improved when the ufc absorbed strike force gaining fighters such as Luke rockhold, jacare, Gerard muosasi, Tim kennedy, ,
      At the same time ufc also had some homegrown talent that was emerging, like Chris Weidman, Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero, Lyoto machida (dropping down from LHW) These were the best middleweights, and Anderson didn't beat any of them. The only top 10 all time great middleweights that Andersons beat were Dan Henderson, vitor belfort, and Rich Franklin middleweight.
      GSP on the other hand has beat multiple WW's who are in the top 10 all time. Matt hughes 2x, BJ' Penn 2x, Josh koscheck 2x, Nick diaz, Jon Fitch, Carlos condit, Jake shields (who beat alot of the same fighters Anderson did)
      Despite fighting better competition, GSP was more dominant than Anderson was. At one point GSP had won 25 rounds in a row against championship level opponents, Anderson never won more than 12 rounds in a row.

    GSP was a straight shooter on his feet with precise kicks and punches and Anderson Silva was more creative. Styles make fights and I think that would have been a great match up. It would depend on who was able to get the first big blow in and capitalize on it. It would also depend on which fighter was in better condition and had superior recuperative powers to deal with adversity. Both were very equipped in the stand-up game so that would have been very interesting. However, the ground game is a different story. GSP dominated top wrestlers throughout his career and had no problem with Jujitsu guys while Anderson Silva had trouble defending against the take down versus top wrestlers. He would often find himself on his back. This is where I think the difference would be. On their feet it could be anyone's game but, on the ground, I see GSP dominating. He just had freakish strength and was just as well versed or more so than anyone he faced on the mat. As for psychological warfare, I don't think that would have made a difference. While Anderson silva might be a gentleman helping his opponents up and so forth, GPS would probably accept that offer but then turn right around and try to destroy him! Don't forget that GSP was also a gentleman in and out of the ring but it never stopped him from annihilating his opponents. I'm for GSP in either weight class while they were both in their prime but it would have been an epic fight.

  • @OhWell0
    @OhWell0 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I see some comments mentioning "it depends on the weight" "it depends on the time frame". If that fight had happened, GSP would have won it. Any weight, any time frame. GSP didn't take fights he didn't win. And that's a real criticism of GSP. If he could imagine himself winning, he would become the fighter he needed to be to win. If he couldn't see himself winning, he wouldn't take the fight. (And that's a real criticism of Dana White) Though he was considerate enough to vacate belts when he knew he wasn't going to defend them.
    Great video. It's fantastic to have a personally informed opinion on this fight. The only other fighter to face both Anderson and GSP, called him out ten years ago. "I don't think Georges is hurt, I think he's scared."
    Nick Diaz, with some off the cuff, personally informed opinions of his own.

    For me it all comes down to what weight they fought at. If Silva came back down and fought at WW again GSP would completely wreck Silva, KO or tap out and I think he'd make it look easy. If they fought at a catchweight like GSP wanted (179lbs) GSP win still but not as easily. And if they fought at Middleweight I think Silva would just be too big and be able to stop enough TD's to win.
    I'm pretty sure GSP and Silva felt the same back then too because not being able to agree on a weight to fight at is why this fight never happened, GSP wanted them to fight at at catchweight, Silva would only fight GSP at 185lbs and the UFC wanted the same.

      Yes. Seems there is a magical weight point at which GSP loses... is it below or above 185lbs, that is the question. Neither fighter knows exactly but both have incentive to negotiate hard for upper or lower values, most casuals won't even understand the relevance.

    Silva could have catched GSP while standing and knocked him out but the most certain ending for that fight would have been GSP taking Silva down for 5 straight rounds and controlling him there to win a UD. I mean, Chael did it and Sonnen himself said GSP ground control, positioning and strength was at a whole different level.

As you said, he's just such a master at finding his opponent's weaknesses and capitalizing on them. It would have definitely been a competitive fight though, no doubt. Think about it, if Chael Sonnen could take him down 5 rounds in a row, Georges could have 100% done the same thing. I see Georges taking him down and implementing his ground and pound to a round 5 Round Unanimous Decision in both of their primes and at both of their ends

    Imo it will always be GSP.
    I think the keys to victory would have been his elite wrestling and how you said he’d eat a knee on his way in I think GSP would have played it safer than that and would have took Silva down from clinch or back him up against the cage and then trip him up to get him down. Especially since Georges was way stronger at Middleweight.
    I also believe that GSP would utilize Leg kicks like crazy! Mixed with that wicked fast Jab I and the take downs I think it’s a easy W for GSP.
    Also I don’t think Silva could crack GSP or if he did I don’t think he’d be out I mean .. we all saw him fight a fucking Big Rig haha.
